As they moved through the crowd, Liu Feng's attention was suddenly drawn to a distant shop, where an elegant figure stood amidst the crowd.

The girl's face was covered with a mask but her expensive attire and the guards following behind her indicated her noble status, making her stand out.

The day gradually wore on, the sun started to set. The trio eventually made their way back to the city lord's mansion, where they were scheduled to stay.

As the trio arrived at the City Lord's mansion, they were greeted by a line of guards standing there. The guards led them through the entrance and into the city lord's mansion, where they were received by the butler of the city lord.

They were told that Li He, was currently away but would be arriving soon to meet them.

Soon they were escorted to their assigned rooms. Liu Feng asked the duo to hand over the items they had obtained from the mysterious old man.

"I need to study the true nature of these objects so that I can help you figure out how to use them. I'll call you when I am done analyzing them"

The trio did not waste any time and went inside their room after handing over the mysterious stone and the dried flower. Liu Feng took a relaxing bath and after that, he started to analyze the items.

First, he examined the dried flower. From the outside, it looked very ordinary, but while injecting a very small strand of Qi into the object he felt a strange reaction.

The poisonous green Qi in his body started to flare up upon making contact with it. Quickly withdrawing his hands, Liu Feng placed the flower aside, pondering how to handle it.

Liu Feng observed, 'It has some reaction with the poison type Qi in my body. I guess Mei Lin might also be suited for some sort of poison element cultivation technique. Sigh~," he sighed, recognizing the potential use of the dried lotus.

Deciding to perform a final test, Liu Feng carefully took a small amount of one dried petal from the flower and placed it in his mouth.

He started to circulate qi according to his modified [Eight Trigram Dao Convergence Scripture], and almost immediately, he sensed a reaction from the Qi in his body. The dried petal seemed to assist in gathering the flow of Qi within his body, making it easier for him to cultivate.

For the next few minutes, Liu Feng experienced a remarkable improvement in gathering and refining Qi. The efficiency of his cultivation seemed to increase significantly, allowing him to gather a vast amount of Qi in no time.

However, the sensation quickly began to fade away, leaving Liu Feng to check the progression of his cultivation.

[Cultivation: Qi Condensation Stage 3 (29%)]

"It increased that much in just a couple of minutes? The last time I remember, it was still in the early stages of Qi Condensation Stage 3. If my memory is correct, it was even less than five percent!", Liu Feng was astonished by the significant amount of improvement in his cultivation so quickly.

As he looked at the dried lotus before him, Liu Feng realized its actual value, thinking of it as a treasure trove of his cultivation.

He took a gulp, torn between seizing the opportunity to further improve his cultivation and respecting the old man's words, he felt conflicted.

During this time, several questions appeared in his mind - who was that old man, and how did he know about Mei Lin and his cultivation technique?

Despite his inner conflict, Liu Feng resolved his mind to take the risk and consume more of the dried petals. He reasoned that the gains outweighed any cons there might be and that improving his cultivation should be his priority.

Gathering his resolve, he ingested a slightly larger portion of the petal than before and resumed his cultivation. Once again, the Qi within his body responded to the dried petal, making his cultivation process faster.

As Liu Feng concentrated on his cultivation, he couldn't help but wonder about this flower and its magical properties.

'I have to look for more of these in the future!', he took a resolute decision.

Soon, the similar sensation began to fade away, and Liu Feng checked his progression again.

[Cultivation: Qi Condensation Stage 3 (61%)]

"Wow! It increased that much again?" Liu Feng exclaimed in amazement, marveling at the rapid progress of his cultivation.

However, he realized that consuming it further would hinder Mei Lin's cultivation journey.

'Sigh~, I'll leave it for now.'

Next, he turned his attention to the dark crimson stone. Just by observing it closely, he felt something ominous.

Despite the negative feeling, Liu Feng resolved his will and injected a small strand of his Qi into the stone. Instantly, he was overwhelmed by a torrent of cries and remorse emanating from the stone.

The sheer intensity of fear and despair jolted him back to reality, causing him to instinctively withdraw his hand. He heard a faint whisper as if someone were calling out to him from within the depths of the stone. The voice felt ancient, carrying an eerie charm that sent shivers down his spine.

"Young one, embrace the power that I am about to bestow upon you," the voice echoed in his mind as if hypnotizing him. "Become my disciple, and I shall make you th…"

"Nope!", interrupting the strange voice in the middle, he realized what he had to do.

'I have read enough of these!', Liu Feng started to circulate his cultivation technique immediately to stabilize his mind and utilize the [Clear Mind] ability to regain his composure.

Taking the stone into his palms, he muttered, 'System, quickly collect Dao Fragments from it!'

A foreboding feeling came over the remnant soul inside the stone, and he cried, "Brat! You dare to ignore this sovereign! You will regre...Nooo…."

However, it was too late for the old man, as the stone began to disintegrate, the system responded [Ding!].

'Pheww~',

[Collected 65 Lesser Grade Dao Fragments and several thousand Inferior Grade Dao Fragments.]

'Wow! Several thousand inferior grades and 65 lesser grade? That many?', Liu Feng exclaimed in awe, his eyes widening in astonishment.

[Collected Inferior Grade Dao Fragments will be automatically converted to Dao Points.]

Liu Feng checked his status again and looked for Dao points and his collections.

[Dao Points: 4745]

[Collection(s):

> {Unnamed Wood Dao} (Origin: Dao of the Five Elements) (Lesser Grade) x10,

> {Unnamed Blood Dao} (Origin: The Blood Sovereign) (Lesser Fragment) x65]

'So many Dao Points!', Liu Feng was shocked to notice the huge amount of increase in his Dao Points.

Next, he directly clicked on the newly collected Dao Fragments in the Collections section to explore its details.

'Let's see what we got here…'

{Unnamed Blood Dao} (Origin: The Blood Sovereign) (Lesser Fragment)

[ Obtained from the condensed blood essence of the Blood Sovereign, known in the ancient lands for his tyrannical reign of bloodshed and terror. His blood essence still carries a trace of his dreadful power, tainted by the agonies of his countless victims. The Blood Sovereign's techniques were notorious for harvesting the blood and life essence of others, turning the blood and flesh of his victims into tools of annihilation. It grants the ability to nourish one's flesh and blood, promoting rapid regeneration and vitality. However, its abilities come with many challenges. The lingering remnants of his countless victims' remorse and rage pose a constant threat, tempting the practitioner towards the abyss of madness and corruption.]

Reading the whole detail carefully, Liu Feng's anger flared up like a raging volcano. 'Fcuk that old man! What did you want to accomplish here by handing these items randomly to people and calling it Fate or whatever!', he was angry and felt frustration.

"And to think it was meant for Zhang Yan. I wonder what type of future would have happened if Zhang Yan had used the items without my intervention or what the timeline could have been if I did not transmigrate."

'Sigh~, I thought Zhang Yan was supposed to be some sort of protagonist. I mean come on! trapped in a cave by the villains, his sister was kidnapped, his family was framed, and so on. If this does not scream the beginning plot of the hero in more than 80% manhua, then I don't know what is correct anymore!'

'Did I perhaps pick up a villain? well, it really does not matter to me though, as long as they are loyal to me and I am more powerful than them, all is good.'

But Liu Feng felt helpless, he was always trying to take caution in this strange world as he thought he knew about all of the potential dangers lurking here.

'But that man was weird! Did he perform some sort of hypnotism on us while we were not looking? How come we...I trusted him so quickly? This does not make any sense!', Liu Feng was blaming his foolishness.
