Chapter 98: Failed snowball fight (Edited)

Hermione's plan worked, and with the deliberate distraction of a group of scheming girls, and Fish's own distractions within minutes of writing, it was usually late at night when she finished.

Fish then had to take his homework to Professor McGonagall to check, and then go to the kitchen to fill it with food to share with Fluffy.

On weekends, Fish had to go to the Forbidden Forest to play, so he had no time to spend with Fluffy.

But what Hermione didn't know was that even if she hadn't made such a plan to slow Fish down, Fish would have given up after a few more tries, and until he found a way to catch or convince Fluffy, Fish knew his attempts would be futile.

Besides, with so many fun things to do, there's no way Fish would be stupid enough to keep wasting his time trying to get in through the trap door.....

Fish is so smart!!!( ̄︶ ̄).

It was a relatively quiet day, it was getting close to December and the temperature dropped a bit, but the number of people outside was increasing.

Because it was starting to snow.

November saw occasional snowfall, but it wasn't very heavy and didn't even snow much, just unwanted frost.

But as December progressed, the snowfall around Hogwarts began to skyrocket, and soon a thick layer of snow accumulated outside the castle.

After classes, many young wizards would go out into the open space outside the castle to have snowball fights and build snowmen, and there wasn't much difference between Muggles and wizards when it came to playing in the snow.

The only difference is that wizards... use magic to help them in their snowball fights and build snowmen.

"Meow~" ?(=?ω?=)?

Fish, transformed into a small tabby cat, also had fun in the snow, instead of his previous lazy state.

He didn't like the snow when he was a stray because many of his kind would have frozen to death at this time of year.

But after being adopted by Professor McGonagall, all of his kind that Fish met were well cared for by humans and didn't freeze to death, so he was able to play in the snow, and when he was in Hogsmeade village, he would play snowball fights and build snowmen with the other neighbors.

As Fish was hitting the snow, a snowball suddenly fell from the sky in his direction, but Fish reacted quickly and jumped to the side to avoid the snowball's attack.

"Meow?"

Fish looked in the direction the snowball came from, and saw the cat-eared Redhead number two and three standing on the snow, not far away, with several snowballs floating in the air, slowly spinning around their bodies.

"Fish, how about a snowball fight?"

George waved his wand, and a snowball floating around his head charged at Fish.

"Meow!"

Fish jumped up, turned around in midair, and turned into a cat-man as he used his tail to scatter the snowball.

"Okay, meow!" ?(●ΦωΦ●)?

After landing on the ground, Fish raised his fists in the air, confidently accepting the twins' challenge.

He had been the snowball champion in Hogsmeade village for the past two years, and he had no fear of the two redheads.

"How about adding us to the snowball fight?"

At the same time, nearby girls rushed to stand in front of Fish, including Angelina Johnson, who the two twins had a crush on.

Fred and George exchanged a smug look and then pretended to think for a moment before shaking their heads and saying, "There's too many of you there, it's not fair, we have to get mates too."

The twins then waved to all the students outside the castle, even the Slytherin ones, and pulled out a round tube with two colored sticks that they had been preparing for a long time.

"Let's get lucky, everyone! Let's see who's lucky enough to be in Fish's group!"

Fred handed the slips to Fish first, while hexing him in the same tone he had used when selling cat ears.

Fish ignorantly followed George's instructions and drew one of the many sticks, and then was placed in a group with some other students, both male and female, from different Houses, who also drew blue sticks.

But Fish didn't care about that, he just wanted to have a good time.

After a brief grouping, they all donned different colored cat ear hairpins to identify their teams, and so the snowball war began.

As soon as the game began, Fish excitedly waved his wand and charged toward the largest of the crowd, followed by his teammates.

But after enthusiastically breaking a few snowballs, Fish's mood suddenly dropped.

His teammates had been around him from the beginning, and when they saw the snowballs coming, they all got in front of him....

It was obvious that those snowballs were too crooked to hit him, but his teammates were very nervous when they saw a snowball that drifted more than ten meters.

And some of his teammates, instead of dodging the snowballs they threw, were so eager to jump on them that Fish almost thought he had gotten the rules of snowball fights wrong.

Most people were still playing in earnest, but everyone tacitly avoided Fish's direction.

The few who attacked Fish, like George Fred, were immediately mobbed the moment they attacked, and even their teammates would turn their backs on them.

All in all, this snowball fight left Fish with no sense of participation.

"No fun meow, I'll go find Minerva..." ?ω?

Fish threw two more snowballs, checked that no one was fighting back, lost all interest and turned around and headed for the castle, despite the pleas of his companions.

When the others saw Fish leave, they all stopped and looked at each other wondering what was going on.

George and Fred rolled their eyes in disbelief, of course they knew what was going on, but they had just attacked Fish when they were immediately buried by snowballs flying in all directions, without even a chance to warn him.

By the time they trudged out of the snow, Fish had lost all interest in the snowball fight and was almost at the castle gate.

And so the snowball fight ended raucously, with the twins and the few students who had attacked Fish, after he had left, frantically blaming the others who had participated in it.

But that didn't bother Fish anymore, as he went straight to Professor McGonagall's office and threw himself into her arms.

"Minerva~" ?●ω●?

"Fish? You're just in time."

Professor McGonagall opened her arms to catch Fish, stroked his little head, and then took a form from the desk and handed it to him.

"Here, sign this."

"Meow?" Fish took the form, looked at the words on it and read them aloud, "A list of students staying in school for Christmas?"

"Is it Christmas, meow!" ?(●ω●)?

Fish tossed the form aside excitedly, then jumped up and hugged Professor McGonagall again.

"Minerva! Where's my present?" ?●ω●?

"Christmas isn't even here yet..." Professor McGonagall patted Fish's head angrily, "So, do you have your Christmas presents for your friends?"

"Meow?" ?ω?

Little Fish was confused, "Does Fish have to give presents to everyone else too, meow?"
