Chapter 535: Practice is the only criterion for testing the truth (Edited)

Fish trotted up to the Gryffindor dormitory, opened the Fat Lady's portrait with the password and slipped inside.

"Hermione! Are you in there nya?!"

(|ΦωΦ?)

Fish started screaming loudly as soon as he poked his head through the hole in the wall.

"Fish!"

"It's Fish!"

"Fish, are you okay?"

"What the hell happened last night?"

There was still a large crowd in the common room, and Fish was surrounded by everyone.

"Ask Harry! Fish needs urgent help from Hermione nya!"

?(?ΦДΦ?)?

Fish pushed his way through the crowd and looked around the common room for Hermione, but couldn't find her.

"Where's Hermione?"

(°ω°≡°°ω°)

Fish asked as he looked around, and tried to run towards the girls' dormitory....

Then Angelina stopped him.

"He's gone to see his parents, I think he's in the Great Hall or the library...". She said, not quite sure.

"Then Fish is going to look for her!".

?(??ω??)?

Fish immediately jumped back out of the bedroom, sniffing the air as he ran downstairs.

Following the scent all the way to the Great Hall, Fish found Hermione sitting with the Granger's eating breakfast...

Professor McGonagall was sitting next to her.

(?ω?)

Feeling as if he had made a trip for nothing, Fish rubbed his stomach, he was so focused on finding Hermione that he had forgotten that he hadn't had breakfast yet.

"Minerva, Hermione, Jacqueline, Chris, good morning everyone nya."

Fish jumped over to the others and sat down to Professor McGonagall's left.

Instantly a large amount of food appeared on the plate in front of his, and Fish grabbed the knife and fork, eating quickly but elegantly, glancing occasionally at Professor McGonagall, who was standing next to her.

Ψ(??~??)

"I didn't know you'd be here."

Professor McGonagall reached out and smacked Fish upside the head, amused and annoyed.

Of course, Fish knew it wasn't Professor McGonagall's fault, but, for some reason, he couldn't help but pour his frustration into the food, grunting and stuffing his mouth full of food, and before long Fish's cheeks were puffed out like a hamster's.

"Jacqueline, Chris, let's go for a walk."

Professor McGonagall wiped her mouth with her handkerchief and extended an invitation to the Grangers so Fish and Hermione could be alone to talk.

There wasn't much more she could do.

The three parents left and Fish finished his breakfast after gobbling it down for a while.

"Hermione, Fish has something to tell you."

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

Fish swallowed the last of his food and looked solemnly at Hermione, who was waiting. "Let's find a quiet place."

Hermione was slightly taken aback, she was about to ask about Fish last night, but she hadn't expected Fish to speak first.

"Sure," Hermione cocked her head and smiled, "How about the Room of Requirement? We won't be bothered by anyone there."

The two got up and walked out of the Great Hall, returning to the seventh floor, walking three times in front of the tapestry, and into the Room of Requirement, where they could have a 'quiet chat'.

It was a bit like Madame Puddifoot's Tea House, with several little round tables and even a bar at the end of the room, with teapots of all sizes on the bar, and an assortment of upside-down teacups on a piece of furniture on the far wall.

"Ah...," Hermione sighed with some distaste, "If I had known that in the Room of Requirement I would have such a place, I would have come here to read."

She ran to the bar with interest and found several types of tea in the drawer under the counter.

Choosing a tea that Fish liked, Hermione grabbed a small teapot and began to brew it.

After placing the teapot on the stove and turning it on with her magic, Hermione sensed something was wrong....

Fish was too quiet.

"What's wrong, Fish?"

Hermione looked at Fish curiously, only to see him sitting upright at a small round table, she hadn't seen him sit so upright even in Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration class.

"I have something to tell you."

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

Fish said solemnly to Hermione, who was getting nervous seeing him so serious.

"Well, tell me." Hermione sat down opposite Fish, again with a serious countenance.

"Fish... he's not human."

Fish hesitated for a moment, but finally got to the point and said it bluntly.

"..."

Hermione was silent, looking at Fish seriously for a moment before realizing that was what he was trying to say.

"Uh... So?"

She asked, blinking, somewhat puzzled.

"Nya?"

?ω?

Fish blinked again, "Hermione isn't surprised nya? Fish isn't human."

"Because I had already guessed that..." Hermione laughed, "I wasn't sure, but after learning the Animagus Charm, I knew you weren't an Animagus by birth for sure."

"So... that's why you hate Fish nya?"

?(??ω??)?

Fish looked at her with wide eyes, looking pitifully at her.

"How can that be?!" Hermione shifted her seat next to Fish and gave him a hug. "I would never hate Fish! What makes you think that?"

"Because a lot of people disliked Hagrid, and Filius when he was younger... and you and the other girls didn't like the way Fleur and Gabrielle looked either..."

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

Fish said plausibly.

"Fleur and Gabrielle..." Hermione was as puzzled by this as Professor McGonagall, and on second thought, decided there was no point in getting into it with Fish, so she said, "Actually, I was a bit worried at first..."

She scratched her cheek, a little embarrassed, "It's not that I hate you, Fish, it's just... I was a little worried..."

"Worried about what?"

?ω?

Fish cocked his head curiously, looking unblinkingly at Hermione.

"Worried... about whether or not... we'll have children in the future..."

Hermione's voice got lower and lower, and by the end it was almost inaudible, her head was almost under the table, and her little face was already red.

It was only thanks to his sensitive ears that Fish could hear what she was saying. However, Fish was a little confused as to what Hermione was saying.

"Nya?"

?ω?

Fish blinked and asked with a confused look on his face, "Why would I be worried about that?"

Now that I'm talking about it, Hermione is ready to pull out all the stops.

She closed her eyes and answered with a stiff neck, "Because according to Muggles, there is reproductive isolation between different species, which means it's hard to have babies... however, the situation on the wizarding side should be different, after all, there are half-bloods like Hagrid and Professor Flitwick... I also looked up in the books that other magical creatures and wizards have had offspring, and so, then I didn't care..."

Immediately after that, Hermione, apparently worried that Fish was thinking about it, immediately added, "And, even if it's true that I can't have children, I won't hate Fish!"

"Oh..." Fish didn't really care about that, he just needed to know that Hermione still liked him.

As for the reason... That didn't matter!

It was the issue of having a baby that would matter to Hermione.... Fish didn't want her to be upset about it.

So Fish looked down for a moment, then suddenly looked up and said to Hermione, "You said you were worried we couldn't have a baby? Well, let's try it now! About the baby!"
