Chapter 354: Basilisk? (Edited)

After screaming, Fish calmed down and reconsidered the method of practicing the Patronus Charm.

After a few moments of contemplation, the kitten turned his attention back to Harry.

With his prejudices out of the way, he intended to learn from Harry.....

"Harry, when you summon a full Patronus, do you think only of your father's Patronus as you do?".

?ω?

Fish confirmed to Harry earnestly.

Harry patiently answered Fish's question and explained in detail how he had done it.

"I also remembered what Professor McGonagall once told me, that my father was also a Seeker, whether it was Quidditch or Patronus, and that made me feel closer to him....".

Fish also listened patiently and asked questions from time to time.

After Harry finished speaking, Fish nodded.

"Fish knows nya!"

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

The little cat grabbed his wand and held it up with a serious expression.

Both Professor McGonagall and Harry looked at him expectantly.

They had never doubted Fish's talent, and with his previous careless attitude towards his studies, he was already far ahead of his peers in his mastery of spells, not to mention his strange but powerful array of spells.

Fish's talent was one of the best in the history of wizardry.

Fish raised the wand in the air, leaned back slightly and took a deep breath, visibly puffing out his chest.

"Glup..."

Harry swallowed nervously.

Then.

"No nya!"

∑(? `Д′?)

The kitten woke up startled.

"Fish doesn't have a daddy nya!"

Professor McGonagall: "..."

Harry: "..."

The two were speechless for a moment, and then looked at the kitten with concern, fearing that Fish would be saddened by this.

But they had clearly underestimated the cat's cruelty, and Fish didn't give a damn about the father he didn't remember at all.

Besides, Fish knew that after all these years, his real parents were probably already dead....

Cold, hunger, injury and disease ...

The life of an ordinary wild cat is too short.

"Minerva~"

?●ω●?

Fish hurriedly turned to Professor McGonagall for help, "Harry's method won't work for Fish nya!".

Professor McGonagall was relieved that the kitten didn't feel lost, so she patiently explained to Fish.

"Everyone's personality is different, and what makes you happy isn't always the same, and even the same Patronus Charm at different times doesn't always bring back the same memories. Potter's method can only give you an idea, it doesn't mean you can summon your Patronus exactly as he did."

It led Fish to analyze Harry's thoughts for himself.

"Think about it, what was it in Potter's memories that he was mobilizing that produced positive emotions in him, and what was the nature of those emotions?"

"Oh... Fish seems to understand a little nya..."

(??△??)

The kitten raised his wand again and then remembered the time when he was praised by Professor McGonagall and when he and his classmates celebrated Professor McGonagall's birthday together.

The corners of Fish's lips began to lift, though his face remained serious.

Licking his lips, he opened his mouth and shouted....

"Expecto Patronum! nya~!"

White and silver mist quickly filled the entire Transfiguration classroom, this was the largest scale since Fisch practiced the Patronus Charm.

But that wasn't the end of it, as the huge mist rolled twice and then began to shrink inward.

Unfortunately, the fog stopped when it reached about one-fifth the size of the classroom, forming a pillar of clouds still of fog, only this one was much thicker than before,

The light emitted was also brighter.

The cloud pillar curved around the classroom, resembling a giant python.

"This shape... Is it Uroboros nya?"

(●?ω?●)?

Fish circled the pillar of clouds in front of him, scratching his cat-like head in confusion.

Professor McGonagall and Dumbledore had also speculated on what Fish's Patronus might be.

Judging by the large cloud of mist that the cat had conjured, it was clear that the eventual Patronus would not be small, and that there were only three large creatures that could be linked to Fish.

The three-headed dog, Fluffy, the giant squid, Kanaloa, and the basilisk, Uroboros.

Mind you, if it has to be said, Hagrid counts too.

Looking at proximity, Fluffy is the most likely, while Kanaloa is Godric Gryffindor's former pet and one that Fish has never been able to defeat, so it's not too unlikely.

Only Uroboros, who was Fish's defeated enemy, had known him for less time and was also Salazar Slytherin's pet, was the least likely by any standards.

Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall, as Gryffindors, naturally wanted Fish to end up summoning a Patronus based on Kanaloa.

So when they told Fish of their suspicions, they both insisted over and over again that Fish was likely to summon Kanaloa, and eventually the kitten came to believe it.

But as it stands now....

The Headmaster and Deputy Headmistress's plan seems to have backfired.

Although Professor McGonagall was a bit disappointed that Fish's eventual physical Patronus was likely to be a basilisk, she patted the kitten on the head and said, "That's good, Fish! If you keep this up, you'll make it."

"Of course I will, nya! Fish is great."

(●`?′●)

The cat raised its head in triumph and the tip of its tail wagged excitedly.

But after calming down, Fish also knew that relying on those memories right now shouldn't be enough for him to actually summon the physical Patronus.

So, having succeeded, the cat turned his attention back to Professor McGonagall.

"Minerva, what were you thinking when you summoned your Patronus?"

(??ω??)

The little cat tugged at Professor McGonagall's robe and asked curiously.

Harry also cast a cautiously interested glance.

"Me?"

Professor McGonagall looked slightly dumbfounded for a moment, then smiled and said, "If it was before, I was thinking about when I won the Novice Prize, when I became Transfiguration teacher, when Elphinstone proposed to me and.... " she looked at Harry, "When the Dark Lord was defeated."

"Minerva..."

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

Fish tilted his face, looked at Professor McGonagall and said very seriously, "This all sounds, well, boring..."

Whether it was about winning a prize or becoming a teacher, the kitten wasn't interested at all.

The Elphinstone that Professor McGonagall was talking about was known to Fish, and there was a picture of him and Professor McGonagall together at home, and if he hadn't died, he probably would have been Fish's father.

It's a shame he's dead now, and Fish doesn't know him at all, so naturally he can't understand him.

As for the Dark Lord...

Isn't that the guy he's defeated several times? What was there to be happy about when he won?

Looking at Fish's puzzled little eyes, Professor McGonagall wanted to punch the puss in the head.

The little cat seemed to sense that the mood was a bit subtle, so he put his arm around Professor McGonagall and began to change the subject.

"What is it now, Minerva? what do you use to summon the Patronus?".

?●ω●?

Professor McGonagall squeezed the puss's cheeks and said with a loving look, "What else? Of course when I adopted you, you naughty little thing and, yes, when you celebrated your mother's birthday a while back."

"Nya?"

?ω?

Fish blinked, with a very regretful expression.

"But Fish was thinking of Mireva nya's birthday..."

It seemed there was no better way to go about it with Minerva, so he'd ask Albus next time.

Thought the kitten.

As for the fact that Professor McGonagall would be delighted to adopt him....

That's only natural, nya!
