Chapter 334: The Fish Deterrent Effect (Edited)

The new friend he made in the Forbidden Forest didn't catch the kitten's attention much, after all, aside from being a bit bigger, he was basically the same as Fang, and he was much quieter than Fang, rarely barked and wasn't funny at all.

If it weren't for the fact that he was so pathetic and had been beaten up by Fluffy, Fish wouldn't even have taken him to meet the other magical creatures because the power difference between the two was too great for them to interact with each other.

Fish only did it so Cold could meet them, to prevent someone from accidentally catching and eating him one day. After all, as prey, Cold seemed to be quite plentiful.

As the days passed, it was soon the end of October, and tomorrow was the annual Halloween party, and the Great Dining Hall was decorated early on with pumpkins and bats in preparation for tonight's Halloween feast.

Everyone was looking forward to the evening's feast, except the third years, as it was also the weekend and their first trip to Hogsmeade.

So the third years got up early in the morning, ate breakfast in the Great Dining Hall, and talked excitedly about where they were going to play later....

Only Harry sat in silence, digging his fork into the baked potatoes on his plate, trying to turn them into mashed potatoes.

It had been half a month, and he still hadn't found his way to Hogsmeade, so today he would have to stay at Hogwarts castle with the first and second years, and the few upper years who were tired of going to Hogsmeade.

"We'll bring you lots of sweets from Honeydukes," Hermione said, sensing Harry's frustration.

Ron, for his part, echoed, "Yeah, bring a bunch."

"Or if you want some more, we'll bring you some."

Seamus and Dean joined in the conversation, only Neville remained sitting in his seat, muttering something in a whisper....

He was checking to see if he had forgotten anything.

"Don't worry about me," Harry tried to sound as nonchalant as possible as he waved to his friends and said, "See you at the feast, have fun."

At that moment, the kitten raised its head.

"Harry, what Fish said earlier still stands."

"No need! Thank you."

Harry instantly blushed and declined.

Everyone burst out laughing and the atmosphere, which had been somewhat subdued, was greatly lightened.

After a hurried breakfast, the third years hurried to the Hogwarts gates, where a long queue formed as Filch stood by the gates, holding up a long list of students who had been allowed to go to Hogsmeade.

Harry walked with the group towards the foyer, and from a distance he saw Filch, looking wide-eyed as he checked people out, and sighed helplessly, his last hope was gone.

He waved goodbye to everyone and turned his head towards the castle, unable to respond to Malfoy's taunts.

Everyone felt sorry for Harry, but that small regret was quickly overshadowed by the excitement of going to Hogsmeade, and the discussion continued in hushed tones as they lined up neatly.

Fish obediently got in line, after confirming that Harry didn't want to go to the Forbidden Forest, he was still thinking about going back to Hogsmeade, even though there was nothing new for Fish there, but why not go out when he could?

The kitten had also received an invitation from Hermione and Sharpay, who had done Fish a big favor by celebrating Professor McGonagall's birthday, and the cat didn't want to refuse.

"Argus, hello nya~"

?(●ΦωΦ●)?

As the group slowly moved forward, Fish greeted Filch at the door, and the formerly grim janitor instantly sketched a grim smile.

"Hello, Fish, are you going to Hogsmeade too?"

With a nonchalant glance at the list, he waved his arm toward the door and said, "Well, you're actually on the list, you can come in."

There was no reaction from the students in the queue to this abuse of Filch's power.....

The person they are looking out for is Fish, isn't that normal?

But instead of skipping the queue and going out first, Fish shook his head and replied seriously, "No need nya, Fish is with his friends. And Minerva said it's not good to cut in line."

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

Filch smiled a little and stopped encouraging the kitten to jump the queue, but when he resumed checking the list, the pace was noticeably faster than before.

With Filch's initiative to speed things up, Fish and his group were soon through the castle gates, down the stone steps and down a long ramp to the outermost of the two wrought iron gates, flanked by stone pillars with gargoyle statues.

And most importantly...

Dementors hovering around the wrought iron gates.

"I don't understand why the Ministry of Magic sends such monsters to school," Dean grumbled at the sight of the unpleasant figures, "Black is mad to come to Hogwarts, home of the greatest wizard of the century!".

Fish next to him nodded his head in approval.

(?ω?)

These guys were really annoying, and they were making it impossible to catch Sirius Black for a reward.

Hermione and Ron, who were aware of the situation, said nothing, as they knew they were doing it to protect Harry, but they still felt an instinctive disgust and revulsion for the Dementors.

"They're not going to take away our happiness again when we walk past them, are they?" asked Neville, cringing, and his eyes darted to Fish, he was still more afraid of the great white tiger than the Dementors....

Even later, when Professor Lupin asked him to deal only with Boggart, the transformed object was not Professor Snape Neville thought, but the white tiger that Fish turned into. At the time, he was so frightened that he almost fainted.

As for why this happened, Neville himself didn't know why, obviously when he was with Fish, he didn't feel any fear at all.

Fish noticed Neville's gaze, and when he turned his head, he saw his pale face.

"Don't worry, Neville, Fish will protect you nya!"

?(`ω′)?

The kitten patted his chest, vowing with conviction...

And then he got Neville's face to turn even paler.

As they were talking, the group reached the cast iron gate, and by now they could already feel the coldness of the Dementors, so they all quickened their pace, trying to get through this place quickly.

"Ha~!"

(●`Д′●)

Fish lowered his ears, raised his tail, and kept making intimidating gestures at the Dementors at the door, which made the others tremble in fear, for fear that Fish would irritate them.

Just as Hermione was about to speak up to stop the kitten's reckless behavior, she was surprised to see that the Dementors had backed down at Fish's provocation.

"Nya?"

(⊙ω⊙)

Not only were the others surprised by the Dementors' initiative, but even Fish was surprised.

So the little cat twitched his nose twice and quickly noticed the Dementor that escaped the farthest.

"Ah, it's the Dementor that Fish hit on the train nya!".

∑(●ΦДΦ●)?

Fish pointed at the other party and said loudly.

Still, the Dementors only stirred for a moment, not reacting, merely staring at Fish and his group from afar.

"Nyajajajajaja!"

Next, the little cat raised his head in triumph, arms folded in front of his chest.

"They've already been scared by Fish, Fish is indeed the most powerful nya!"
