Chapter 260: Voldemort: in short, very unfortunate.

"Nya?"

?ω?

Fish looked up at the empty ceiling.

"Is it Riddle nya? where are you nya?"

"I'm a memory itself, I can't appear in memory," Voldemort continued in that weak voice, which seemed about to die at any moment, "Just come back to the Headmaster's office and you'll see me in a few moments."

Although Voldemort was tempted to take this opportunity to find out from Fish what had happened with the sudden loss some time ago, he restrained himself from revealing the truth, and intended to use a safer way to talk to Fish later.

He hadn't had time to ask Fish about it before he steered the conversation in the direction of the Chamber of Secrets, after all, it would be much easier to ask him about it once he had regained some of his strength.

"Oh..."

Fish flapped his ears, but he followed Voldemort's instructions, turned and ran back.

When he returned to the Headmaster's office, there was a boy about Percy's age sitting across from Professor Dippet, hands clasped.

Fish walked over to the desk, put his head in front of the boy and looked him up and down.

About appearance, Fish still had no idea, but... he had good hair.

The boy's hair was dark and shiny, and it looked nice.

"Is that you?"

Fish poked the figure in front of him curiously, his hand penetrated rightly.

"Yes."

Voldemort replied helplessly, beginning to regret bringing Fish into his memories....

If he knew this would happen, he would describe it directly in words!

At that moment, the memory of Tom Riddle and Professor Dippet began their conversation, which Fish overheard with difficulty, probably saying that because someone had died, Riddle couldn't stay at school and had to return to the orphanage for the summer.

"So you're going to catch the man who opened the Chamber of Secrets, because he made you go back to the orphanage over the summer nya?"

Fish didn't hesitate to pick up on the key message.

"That's part of it," Voldemort replied, not hiding his selfishness, "I'm a half-blood, and a Slytherin student, I'm not meant to be the monster's target. If I didn't have to, I wouldn't meddle in this."

"That place called an orphanage is horrible nya?"

?ω?

By this time Riddle had finished his conversation with Professor Dippet, his face looking very ugly knowing he had to go back.

"Yes... it's a very dull and mundane place."

In fact, Riddle's life at the orphanage wasn't so bad, Mrs. Cole of the orphanage, although she found Riddle odd and didn't like him very much, was still a competent headmistress.

And because of his magical powers, the other kids couldn't bully him, but Riddle was the orphanage bully.

Long before he entered Hogwarts, he used his powers to hang a rabbit raised by a boy named Billy Stubbs from a beam.

On another occasion, he took Dennis Bishop and Amy Benson into a cavern and magically did something so horrible to them that the two orphans were so frightened afterwards that they refused to say anything.

Young Tom Riddle also stole things from the other orphans and kept them in his cupboard as trophies.

But for Voldemort, returning to the orphanage meant returning to the mundane world of Muggles, something Voldemort, already exposed to the world of magic and was full of ambition, could not stand, wanting to be unique and special.

Not knowing the real reason for Voldemort's dislike of the orphanage, Fish thought it was as boring a place as Voldemort claimed.

So he nodded empathetically, nodding, "Fish doesn't like boring places either."

(??ˇ?ˇ??)

The kitten spoke to Voldemort as he followed Riddle out of the Headmaster's office, and then they met a young Dumbledore in the hall.

"It's young Albus nya!"

(●ΦωΦ●)?

The younger Dumbledore, the one Fish had seen in the Pensive, and he had even seen Dumbledore who was younger and didn't have a beard. Not to mention the fact that the Dumbledore in front of him was less wrinkled than his beard and hair, so Fish recognized him immediately.

Even though he knew the Dumbledore from his memory couldn't see himself, Fish greeted him and wanted to grab his long beard...of course, this remained in vain.

Riddle, after talking to young Dumbledore, entered the Potions classroom and, as soon as he entered, closed the door behind him, leaving only a gap, and stood straight behind it, peeking through.

Fish also peeked through the door and looked for a moment, but there was no one outside.

Then...

The kitten was getting bored.

Instead of staying by Riddle's side, he burst through the Potions class door and started running back outside.

"Wait, aren't you curious as to who opened the Chamber of Secrets?"

Voldemort called out to Fish.

"But, it's boring being in there all the time nya, Fish wants to go out and play."

Fish wagged his tail, confirming once again that Riddle was lying to him, as the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets was on the second floor.

"When the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets shows up, you can tell Fish."

?(?)?

After the kitten blurted out these words, he ignored Voldemort's shouts and ran off again, scurrying through the empty castle.

Voldemort: "..."

There was nothing Voldemort could do with the wayward kitten.

Originally, after absorbing Ginny's vitality, Voldemort could barely manipulate the memory, such as speeding up the flow of time in the memory or limiting the visitor's range of motion.

But, unfortunately, the diary was accidentally struck by a unicorn, and Voldemort's hard-won power was nearly lost.

So the Dark Lord had to restrain his temper and let Fish run around Hogwarts Castle fifty years ago, while he guarded the Potions classroom.

The Hogwarts of fifty years ago was not much different from the Hogwarts that Fish knew, except for a few changes in the furnishings.

The other passages and chambers that Voldemort was unaware of were either solid walled or turned to chaos, but Hogwarts was built from the memories of a fifth year Voldemort, so what he didn't know was not visible.

After wandering around and finding nothing interesting, Fish made his way to the third floor prize room, intending to find a trophy to sleep on.

When he got to the trophy room, he found that many of the trophies did not match his memory, as Voldemort had not paid attention to the details of the trophies, so the trophies listed here were full of errors.

Luckily, Fish was just looking for a place to sleep and didn't really choose a trophy, so he found one that looked good, changed into his cat form and went inside, and soon he was in dreamland.

Fish didn't care how he was able to transform into his memory and fall asleep, he had no desire to study it, for cats were always looking for food, drink and fun.

And the risk of being possessed or controlled by Voldemort when asleep...

Unfortunately, the bored kitten had forgotten that, and thanks to Voldemort's current weakness, Fish's carefree attitude prevented something irreversible from happening.

Fish: "Zzzzzz ..."
