51.5 Liar

"You guys are all... You guys are also reinca-"

"Shush, now. We don't speak that word around here," Xiu LiXing muttered, clearly uncomfortable.

"How old were you in your past life, though?" Liu Yuxuan asked excitedly, pausing to think that it was quite rude, and adding a small, almost unnoticeable, "Sorry," at the back.

"In my prime twenties."

"Your line of work?"

"Nine to five, worked at a fast food restaurant."

Liu Yuxuan whistled, narrowing her eyes at Xuanmei.

"We got ourselves a liar."

"What?"

"Oh, and also, about that uncanny skill Xuanxuan has? Right, uh, she can snuff out a liar."

Xuanmei sighed.

"A doctor."

Everyone's eyes looked at Xuanmei.

"Yup. It's true."

Xuanmei mentally breathed out a sigh of relief, but froze up as she felt Yuxuan's piercing look, it's icy feeling penetrating her body.

Staring back at Yuxuan, she felt Yuxuan's eyes slowly narrowed, laughing as she closed her eyes, and as she opened them, it was no longer like Xuanmei was stuck in the Antarctic, but rather, she was starting to sweat a lot.

Liu Yuxuan walked over as she waved her friends off, saying, "I'm going to go to class and be productive for once."

"Woah, wait, really?" Xiu LiXing asked, his face full of shock. Yuxuan shrugged, bumping into Xuanmei's shoulder. She stopped for a minute as she muttered something in Xuanmei's ear.

"Well then that's a really weird thing that, being a doctor in both Chinese medicine and Western medicine, as well as being a Psychologist, didn't lead me to believe you are a doctor, although, your lying skills are definitely something to marvel at."

Walking away without a sound, her cold aura slowly got further and further away as she walked down the hallway, back to her 'classes' where she was supposed to be.

Xiu LiXing raised an eyebrow as he eyed her figure getting farther in the distance. "Don't worry about what she said, she's just paranoid and don't take to strangers too easily."

"Yeah," Yuanze said, "She gets a bit weird sometimes."

"Hey moral code*, mind if you help me out? The guy clearly has nothing to unpack here, so help me with my Math homework!"

"What? No!" Yuanze moaned as Lixing pulled him into his part of their shared dorm room.

"Please!"

"Fine!"

Xuanmei sighed as she walked into what seemed like the only clean, empty room not filled with clutter and closed the door.

"Right, so Bluey, how's the training for the staff going?"

"Relatively alright. One thing that's not going good though, is the shop."

"Why?"

"It's overflowing with customers, do you even need to ask? I honestly regret saying that we need to eat hotpot that day."

"Well that's going well, moving on to something... More important, where is this 'Meriandem' that's located in the school?"

"I cannot pinpoint it's location, but of it's anywhere, I'm willing to bet that it's in either the principal's office or in the hands of someone powerful."
