Chapter 5: Hell

Amidst floating islands with pouring magma, jagged mountains and bizarre floras and fauna, a young demoness flew past the jagged mountains to one prominent school... Babylus.

Countless other demons can also be seen to be flying to the school. The reason for this is simple. Today is the school's entrance ceremony.

Soon, the young demoness flew down and landed in front of the gate of Babylus. She then looked up and once again marveled at the view of the school.

"No matter how many times I see it, it still is astonishing indeed."

This young demoness is our protagonist or more precisely, the avatar he created with G-Liner. Long black and white hair reaching her bosom and crimson irises, wearing the Babylus school uniform that accentuates her figure, with her curled horns emphasizing her devilish natured beauty. Her current name is Irene Enderion.

Feeling the stares of others on her, Irene silently said in her heart, "I am Vincent."

As soon as she did, she immediately vanished from the eyes of everyone, including the eyes of the school's Gargoyle which surprised him.

"Works like a charm." Irene smirked as she looked at the confused faces of the demons who were around her.

This past two months, she has been improving her comprehension of her negator ability "Unknown". Due to this, she managed to surprisingly push it to 73% sync rate. Although she still can't undo "Unknown" on her main body, she can now apply and deactivate "Unknown" whilst using an avatar which was kind of similar to how Anno Un used it.

Deactivating "Unknown", she sat on above the theater overlooking the show. She doesn't like crowded places and that hasn't changed at all even in this life.

As she sat there waiting for the ceremony to start, she thought about what she did before coming here in the netherworld.

Before Vincent left, he was concerned about his little sister's well being. So with that in mind, Vincent first trained on how to use Soul Caliber for a few weeks. Then he detached a part of his soul and imbued it to Natasha's necklace.

He was sure that it would be "Unknown" for a few months or years as Natasha won't notice that she's wearing the necklace, but it would be worth it as he can leave a guardian in case the time difference is high.

Because of his practice with Soul Caliber, Vincent also learned Astral Projection.

"That student above! Please come down right now or face the consequences!"

Hm? Irene then looked down and she saw someone she was familiar with, Student Council President Azazel Amelie.

When other students heard President Amelie's loud shout, they all looked up and was shocked to see someone there.

"She has guts to dare do this today!"

"Too devilish! Isn't she the one we saw at the gate earlier who vanished suddenly?!"

"She offended the Student Council, she's going to be beaten if she doesn't come down."

"Heh, even the Demon King can't make me go down..." Irene just chuckled disregarding their warning.

"Wha-?!" The other student council members frowned as Irene vanishes after saying that.

Meanwhile, President Amelie also frowned but she calmly ordered the student council members to search for her and also seek help from Balam-sensei.

Unbeknownst to them, Irene just sat there with "Unknown" activated, watching the entrance ceremony start with the school song. She also sang along with it for fun, though she's a human, she's currently a demon.

[ ...and next, Mr. Principal will make a speech... ]

Looking at the lively event of Principal Sullivan announcing that he has a grandson and Iruma's recital of a forbidden spell, which is cool even though he did it not knowing the consequences, Irene just watched calmly with bored eyes.

And when she saw the original freshmen representative, Asmodeus Alice, challenging Iruma she immediately lost interest and decided to wander around the school to find something interesting as she knew the results of this duel.

During Babylus Demon School's first three days, apart from the Entrance Ceremony and Familiar Summoning Class, you are free to explore the school. It was also during these three days that students are being judged unbeknownst to them, which will decide their class designations along with the Familiar Summoning that decides their rank.

Irene knows this based on what she read on the manga. The reason why she entered this school itself was for her to earn Reputation Points. Knowing the exciting fun events the abnormal class would be in, she can't help but look forward to it and looked for a chance to stir up trouble to be admitted to the abnormal class that Sullivan will make.

"You-! Why did you attack me?!"

Hmm? Irene looked at the commotion and saw a blond haired tall young demon holding a golden axe on his hand while biting his gold keychain looking at a teacher with a grin.

"Because defeating a teacher will prove my strength!"

After saying this, the young demon once again hurled his axe at the teacher.

"Tch! Disrespectful! You will have to kill me to defeat me!"

But just as the axe inched closer to the teacher, it suddenly stopped mid air to the astonishment of both the teacher and the student.

"To be respected you need to first give it to others, young demon."

Everyone was shocked to see a delicate hand suddenly appeared out of nowhere holding the handle of the axe.

Soon they saw a young demoness appear slowly as she casually hanged the axe on her shoulder while looking at the demon who threw the axe.

"HAHAHA! Amazing! Let us both fight and let me prove to you why I, Sabnock Sabro, would be the next demon king!"

After saying that he just bit all three of his keychains made from iron, gold and silver. As he did that, he conjured three weapons made from the same materials. A gold axe on his left hand, a silver spear on his right hand and an iron sword strapped on his back.

The young demoness, which was Irene, just scratched her head and sighed knowing that today's Sabnock still is not the mature Sabnock in the future.

"It seems like I have to teach you manners, noble demon."

Irene's figure flickered as she looked at the hot blooded demon with playful eyes. Seeing this, Sabnock thought that she was not taking him seriously at all so he rushed forward threw his golden axe aiming for her neck.

With a wave of the golden axe on her hand, she parried the golden axe that Sabnock threw at her. But due to her lack of combat experience, right after she parried it she was left wide open and Sabnock saw his opportunity to stab his spear at her abdomen.

"You are not as strong as I expected!"

He saw his spear go through her abdomen as he smirked knowing that it was his victory, but just as he did, he noticed that she did not even flinch and kept that playful smile on her lips.

Just then to his astonishment, the figure in front of him vanished leaving the words, "How naive, young demon..."

Soon he felt a cold touch of slender fingers on his neck and a whisper on his ears, "Never let your guard down..."

He slapped his neck and jumped away five meters from his former position and looked behind him. But he saw no one there.

Not long after, the student council came and Sabnock went with them. The teacher was angry too as he huffed away to the teacher's dormitory to rest.

Amelie meanwhile, stayed behind as the demons left. She looked at the empty place and spoke.

"I know you're still here... I need to talk."

She waited for a reply for a few minutes before sighing and turned to go back. But just as she took a step, she felt a touch on her cheeks and heard a faint whisper.

"It's not the right time yet, Amelie-chan. You will learn about me soon... don't worry..."

She flinched and looked around but still saw no one.

Looking at Amelie who was walking away, Irene sat on the grass as she chuckled to herself.

"I think that would be enough for me to enter abnormal class... I look forward to it."
