The next day,

Val and Peggy found themselves rushing towards the motel urgently. Their mission to retrieve the stolen uranium rods had brought them to this very moment. When they approached the motel, they spotted Whitney Frost and Joseph Manfredi barking orders at their henchmen. The duo seemed to be in the process of loading the stolen rods into the back of a truck, their faces twisted into expressions of malice.

Val and Peggy watched in dismay as the truck carrying the stolen uranium rods roared away, leaving them empty-handed. Despite the success of their heist, it seemed that Whitney had still managed to outmaneuver them. But Val and Peggy were not the kind of agents to give up so easily. With determination etched on their faces, they quickly formulated a new plan. As they watched Whitney enter the motel, Joseph Manfredi and his henchmen standing guard outside, Val turned to Peggy and said, "I will handle the people outside while you go and handle Whitney." Peggy nodded her head in agreement and, with all the skill of a seasoned spy, she stealthily made her way into the motel.

Val rose from his hiding spot and strode purposefully toward the group of Italian mafia members. As he drew closer, some of the men noticed his approach and began shouting in Italian, their voices filled with anger and menace. Despite their warning cries, Val remained undeterred.

With lightning speed, Val closed in on one of the mobsters, his fist poised and ready. In a split second, he unleashed a devastating punch, the force of which reverberated through the air.

* WHAM *

* CRACK *

The sound of impact echoed as the mobster's jaw was shattered, his body crumpling to the ground in a heap.

The mobsters were quick to react as they saw their comrade fall to the ground, their anger and fear bubbling to the surface. Without a second thought, they snatched up their bats and sticks, their eyes blazing with a dangerous intensity. With a primal roar, they charged at Val, determined to take him down by any means necessary. But Val was ready for them. He stood his ground, his eyes flickering with a steely resolve.

With lightning-fast reflexes, Val sprang into action as the mobsters charged toward him, their weapons raised high. The sound of bats and sticks whistled through the air as they swung wildly, but Val was too quick for them. He dodged each blow with grace and agility, his eyes fixed on his targets. In a matter of seconds, he was upon them, his fists and feet flying with deadly accuracy.

* CRACK *

* SNAP *

* CRUNCH *

The sounds of bones breaking and joints twisting echoed as Val unleashed a barrage of devastating blows. The mobsters fell to the ground, one by one, their bodies broken and lifeless.

Then, as Val turned his gaze towards Joseph Manfredi, he could see the malicious intent etched on the man's face. Without hesitation, Joseph aimed his gun at Val, his finger tensing on the trigger.

But Val was ready for him. With lightning-fast reflexes, he dodged the bullet, his body moving like a well-oiled machine. In a swift motion, he grabbed Joseph's wrist, twisting it with brutal force.

* CRACK *

Joseph screamed in agony, but Val was not finished yet. With a ruthless determination, he covered Joseph's mouth with his hand, his eyes locking onto the man's fear-stricken face. He whispered in a low voice, "Say hi to your brother, Lorenzo Manfredi for me."

The name was a haunting reminder of a dark past that Joseph had tried to forget. Lorenzo Manfredi had been killed by a hitman before the second world war, and the memory of his death still haunted the Manfredi family.

Before Joseph could react, Val twisted his neck and watched as the life drained from the man's eyes. "I show no mercy to people like you," Val spat, his voice cold and hard. "Mercy should be given to those who are willing to atone for their crimes, not to people like you who revel in them."

Suddenly, a deafening crash and thud filled the air, drawing Val's attention away from Joseph's lifeless body. He spun around to see Peggy, lying motionless on the ground after having fallen from the window. He sprinted towards her, his heart pounding in his chest.

When he reached Peggy, she slowly rose to her feet, wincing in pain as she struggled to put her broken arm back in place. "I can't beat her," Peggy said, her voice strained. "She's become too powerful."

"Don't worry," he said firmly. "We can still beat her when she tries to open the rift. Right now, we need to get the hell out of here."

Together, they hurried to a car and sped away from the motel.

....

With a sneer of disdain, Whitney watched as Peggy and Val sped away in their car. Fueled by her rage and thirst for power, she leaped towards the broken window, shattering the remaining glass with a fierce swipe of her arm.

As she flew through the air, Whitney's eyes gleamed with malevolent glee, relishing the thought of the chaos and destruction she could unleash upon the world. With a resounding thud, she landed on the pavement, a web-like crack spreading out from the point of impact.

Whitney surveyed the scene before her with cold detachment, her eyes lingering on the lifeless bodies of Joseph and his men strewn across the ground. She had thought that they could be useful pawns in her quest for power, but it seemed that she had overestimated them Even in their last moments, they had failed to serve her purpose.

She let out a contemptuous chuckle and muttered to herself, "Even when I let you sleep with me, you still proved to be as useless as my dead husband." It was clear to her that she would have to rely on her own strength and cunning to achieve her goals.

As she stood there, black tendrils began to emerge from her hands, coiling and writhing like living snakes. With a flick of her wrist, she sent them slithering toward the lifeless bodies of Joseph and his men. The tendrils engulfed them, devouring their flesh and absorbing their life force.

Whitney stood there for a moment longer, watching as the tendrils completed their grim task, and muttered, "Looks like I have to do everything by myself."
