[Single? No More!] - The Best News Of The Decade

Storm hurriedly opened the door of her room and stepped inside. She closed the door behind her and placed her back on the door. She felt dizzy and disoriented as her legs were trembling from the experience she had just had.

"OH MY GOD! Oh my god... I... I actually..."

Her cheeks blushed red like apples while she cupped them, feeling the heat rise within them.

"I take it he said yes, huh?"

"Wh—"

Storm raised her head and saw Mystique sitting on a chair while unwrapping a chocolate bar. She smiled brightly and asked in a pleasant, amused voice, "You asked him out, didn't you?"

Seeing Mystique, the happiness in Storm only increased. In her excited state, the answer left her lips without giving it much thought, "Yesss!!"

Mystique smiled and asked her with a teasing glimmer in her eyes and her signature mischievous smile, "Tell me everything! What exactly did he say?"

"He said...Yes! HE SAID YES!! OMG!" Storm said with stars in her eyes as if she had seen a piece of treasure, making Mystique laugh.

"Haha! That's great! Good job!" Mystique giggled while still savoring the chocolaty taste in her mouth.

Storm couldn't keep the blissful and pleasant feeling to herself as her cheeks hurt from smiling so much, and she didn't hesitate to express it openly and loudly.

She screamed excitedly, "I'M GOING ON A DATE!"

"You bet you're going on one!" Mystique got up from her seat, walked toward Storm with a broad grin, and hugged her while Storm jumped in joy and started jumping up and down like an excited teenager with Mystique still embracing her.

"Now, where and when?" Mystique pulled apart and asked excitedly.

"Flamingo's, and it's tomorrow at 8," Storm answered quickly.

"Ooh, a nice fancy restaurant!" Mystique whistled, making Storm giggle, then continued, "It's perfect for a first date!"

She touched Storm's shoulder and said, "So, you're gonna take a bath to keep yourself fresh and smell perfect before he comes! As well as make yourself pretty!"

"How should I dress?" Storm asked.

"Umm, how about I help you? What do you say?" Mystique suggested.

"Absolutely!" Storm excitedly answered.

Meanwhile, one of the students who had seen the whole interaction between Val and Storm was running in the school hallways with an excitable expression, hoping to be the first person to convey this juicy rumor to everybody.

On the way, she came across Jubilee, who was talking with Kurt. Seeing them, her eyes sparkled as she thought, 'OH! THIS IS THE BEST TIME!'

She approached them and excitedly said, "JUBI! KURT! Do you wanna hear something unbelievable and epic?"

"Something unbelievable and epic?! What could it be, Eve? Hmm?" Jubilee asked as she crossed her arms across her chest.

"PROFESSOR HALLER IS GOING OUT WITH PROFESSOR MONROE!!!!" Eve shouted, getting several heads turned toward them.

"What did you just say, Eve?" Jubilee didn't believe what she just heard, and Kurt had the same expression as her while standing close by.

Eve smirked and repeated the words, "Professor Haller and Professor Monroe! They're going on a date!"

"Huhhh???" Jubilee exclaimed loudly while opening her mouth wide.

"Yeah! It's true!"

"True?!" Kurt's expression immediately changed.

Eve smirked while rubbing her fingers like a haggling old woman in a market and teased, "Are you guys interested to know the where and when or not?"

Kurt immediately bent forward, brought his wallet out from the back pocket of his pants, and placed it on his palm while saying, "Depends, Eve! What's the price tag of the information?"

"Hold on a moment," Jubilee interjected while taking her wallet out.

"Get your wallets ready and listen," Eve said while noticing the crowd of students formed around them.

She raised her forefinger and shouted, "To know the complete information on this matter, you must pay 10 dollars."

"10 Dollars?!?!"

"WHAT?!"

"Eve! How can you ask for 10 dollars?!"

Eve continued after ignoring their complaints, "I need at least 10 dollars to make this deal."

"Come on, it's just 10 bucks! Not that much, is it? Isn't Professor Haller very charming or Professor Monroe gorgeous and exotic? Doesn't everybody have a crush on them? Don't let this opportunity slip away!" Eve added a cherry on top to encourage them.

"Fine..." Kurt was the first to respond. He opened his wallet, removed 10 bucks from inside, and handed it to Eve while grumbling, "Goddamn it.."

Jubilee, standing beside Kurt, handed 10 bucks to Eve, too.

After collecting 10 bucks from everybody, Eve smirked and offered the news, "Now, listen closely! Professor Haller has a date at Flamingo's with Professor Monroe at 8 o'clock in the evening."

"WHAT?!?!"

"SHITT!!"

"THIS IS HOT NEWS!!"

"No wayy!!!"

"Shit! Who knew this would happen, right? Holy shit! Shit!"

Suddenly, the crowd dispersed, some returning to their dorm rooms and the rest returning to tell the others this incredible news.

Just like that, the news spread rapidly and quickly through the school premises like an unstoppable virus, and by the evening, the word had spread not only within the premises of the school but was now beginning its journey into the wider public.
