[A Sentinel Situation] - Trask's Downfall - The Betrayal

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, D.C,

* WHIRRR *

The Secret Service agents raised their heads and watched as a helicopter flew toward them.

The helicopter flew to the designated spot and landed slowly.

The Secret Service agents quickly walked toward the helicopter as it's rotors began to slow down and opened it's door.

'Trask' glanced at the White House in the background and then, at the SS agents.

The agents helped him get off the helicopter and said, "This way, Mr. Trask."

They escorted him to the White House.

Before entering, the agent at the entrance stretched his hand and ordered, "ID!"

Trask took it out from his pocket and gave it to the agent.

The agent looked at the ID and murmured something on the walkie placed on his chest.

He received something back and he nodded.

Then, he gave the ID back to Trask and stepped aside as he said, "You are clear to proceed."

Trask kept the ID and walked inside where he had to go through metal detectors and bag checks.

Then, the SS agents escorted him toward the meeting room.

However, before entering the meeting room, they stopped him and handed him a document.

They ordered, "You have to sign this before entering the room, Mr. Trask."

Trask looked at the document and found that it was a confidentiality agreement.

He signed it and gave it to the SS agents.

He turned around and took a deep breath before opening it and walking inside.

He saw a bunch of people sitting around the table with the President - Richard Nixon, seated at the middle.

Trask walked up to Nixon and stretched his hand and greeted him with a smile, "Mr. President."

Nixon shook his hand and said, "I hope you will give us exciting news, Mr. Trask."

Trask nodded and respectfully said, "Of course, Mr. President."

Then, he turned around and walked toward the board.

He cleared his throat and began, "Thousands of years ago..."

. . .

A few miles away from the White House,

In an alleyway,

Hank and Havok were wearing their X-Men suits and checking themselves.

Hank asked, "Did you get everything?"

"Yes, I have everything ready.", Havok replied.

"OK, then.", Hank said and he glanced around, looking for Val but he didn't find him.

He asked, "Where is Val?"

Havok replied, "He went to check on Mystique. He told me that he was checking whether she entered the White House or not."

* WHOOSH *

At the same time, they turned around and saw Val descending toward them.

Val landed on the ground and informed them, "Mystique is in the meeting room with the President and the others. As soon as my pager goes off, I would fly both of you in the X-Jet. You would land inside the White House and do your part, okay?"

Seeing them nod, Val took out his pager and murmured, "Come on, Mystique! Everybody's counting on you!"

. . .

In the meeting room,

Trask was demonstrating a genetic research to the President and other officials.

Among them was Louis Patrick Gray III - the acting Director of the FBI.

He was listening intently to Trask when his attention was jolted away by his walkie.

He frowned and answered it, "Speak."

However, the message from the other side caused his eyes to widen in disbelief and he glanced at Trask who was explaining with a smile on his face and thought, 'This fucking piece of shit! Traitor!'

He ordered, "Try to contain the situation before others get a hold of it."

He switched off the walkie and stood up abruptly as he shouted, "Shut this presentation at once!"

Everybody turned to him with confused expression on their faces.

Nixon asked, "Why are you worked up for, Gray? What happened?"

Before Gray could respond, all of a sudden, every official was bombarded with pager alerts, calls, etc.

Even President Nixon, himself, wasn't spared and he had to read the disastrous news.

The news was that highly confidential files of Project WideAwake were being circulated in the black market.

This was disastrous because Project WideAwake committed several inhumane crimes against the mutants on the grounds and their dead bodies were experimented on.

If other countries or even it's own public hears this, there would be massive riots and total political instability.

The President, himself, would have to resign.

Everybody in the room looked at Trask as if he was their greatest enemy.

Nixon stood up from his seat and ordered, "Arrest him! Arrest him at once! He can't be allowed to leave!"

Gray shouted angrily, "He's a traitor!"

He pointed at Trask and accused him, "Why did you put the files on the black market? We made a deal with you! You would obtain the mutants for free while in exchange, you would have to give us access to your research!"

'Trask' raised his hands in the air and innocently said, "W-What are you talking about? I-I didn't do anything! I-I am innocent! I-I swear!"

Gray sneered and said, "We would be the one to decide that! Agents, arrest him!"

The SS agents immediately aimed their weapons at him and shouted, "Hands in the air, right now!!!!!!"

'Trask' put on a scared expression as the SS agents arrived near him however...

As soon as they came close to him, he smirked evilly.

He jumped and spun around, kicking one of the SS agents on his arm, causing the Heckler & Koch MP5 to fly in the air out of his hands.

* WHAM *

He landed on the ground and jumped again.

This time, he brutally attacked the SS agent's throat.

* WHAM *

The agent clutched his throat as he struggled to breathe and fell on the floor.

Trask caught the submachine gun from the air and opened fire at the other SS agents.

* BANG *

* BANG *

* BANG *

The SS agents dropped on the ground like flies while the President and the rest of the officials tried to hide behind any cover.

Trask glanced at Gray and shouted, "Die!!!", as he fired at him.

* BANG *

* BANG *

* BANG *

Every official watched in total fear and shock as Gray was riddled with bullets and he fell on the floor, blood pooling all around his dead body.

The whole area was put in complete lockdown and the rest of the SS agents quickly grabbed their submachine guns and ran to the meeting room.

. . .

Val smiled widely as he glanced at his pager.

He raised his head and said to Hank and Havok, "It's time for us to make our move!!"
