[A Sentinel Situation] - A Parting Promise in the Night Sky

[ Aiden's Note : I have classes today which means no writing for me. Anyway, here's the bonus chapter of the week. ]

Hannah glanced at the unconscious mutants and thought, 'Useless idiots! All they had to do was make him busy until I knocked him out! I will punish them when we get back!'

Val calmly walked toward Hannah and said, "What is all this about, 'Hannah'? If it is a real name, that is."

Hannah rolled her eyes and replied, "My name is Hannah."

Val nodded and said, "You didn't answer my question."

Hannah sneered at him and said, "I am not a little girl. I ain't gonna tell you."

Val sighed dramatically and said, "And, here I thought you were an idiot."

Hannah gritted her teeth and shouted, "I will show you who's the idiot here!" and she charged toward Val.

Val glanced at her coming at him with her fists glowing.

He concentrated and his eyes glowed golden and he saw that she was drawing energy from her body to her fists.

He said to her, "You have a nice power, there."

Hannah arrived right in front of him and aimed her punch at him and said, "Then, taste this punch!"

Val smirked at her and side-stepped her punch.

He whispered in her ear while she was in mid-air, "This is for lying to me."

And, while she was in mid-air, he spanked her butt loudly.

* SLAP *

"Owww!", Hannah cried and she fell on the ground.

She got up and massaged her butt while glaring at him.

She shouted, "How dare you do that?"

Val taunted her as he said, "I would do it again, lady."

Hannah gritted her teeth and charged at him to attack him again.

But, Val evaded her punch and again he whispered in her ear, "This is for making me worried."

He spanked her butt again.

* SLAP *

"Oucchh!", Hannah cried and she fell on the ground again.

She got up and without saying anything, charged at him.

Val evaded her punch once more and whispered, "And, this is for pretending to be a cute little girl."

* SLAP *

"Ooowwwuch!", Hannah cried out in pain and fell on the ground.

Val noticed her hands on her butt, massaging them when suddenly, he heard her crying.

So, he walked toward her and bent down and turned her over only to see her crying face.

Hannah looked at him and said, "I hate you, bastard!"

Val smiled at her and shook his head and replied, "No, you will like me."

Then, Val hit the back of her head and knocked her out.

Val gently laid her on the ground and looked around to see everybody unconscious on the ground.

He turned around and sighed and shouted, "I know you're there. You can come out now."

At first, nobody answered Val.

But, a few seconds later, a person emerged from a dark corner of the warehouse. And this person was none other than... Magneto!

Magneto looked at Val's torn uniform and said, "I never would have thought that you were a cop."

Val looked at Magneto and replied, "And, I would have never thought that you would do this."

He looked around and asked, "So, what was your plan?"

Magneto sighed and said, "The plan was to kidnap you not kill you. So, I sent a few of the best-trained members but," he glanced at the unconscious mutants on the ground and continued, "It seems that I clearly underestimated you."

Val laughed and said, "You can't send a kid to fight an adult."

He then, sighed and said to Magneto, "What are you doing?"

Magneto confusedly asked, "What am I doing?"

Val replied, "Mutant supremacy."

Magneto scoffed at Val and said, "You are a mutant yourself! You can see how they are treating mutants. They are beating them, killing them. They are demanding them to be locked up as if we are criminals.

When I stood up for the mutants and said - If you have so much problem with the mutants, why don't you just give a separate state just for the mutants? - and I was labeled a terrorist.

Tell me, Val! Am I a terrorist for standing up against the injustices for my people? Am I a terrorist for asking for a separate state? Am I a terrorist just because I am a mutant?"

Val sighed and said, "But, your actions have led to a further divide between mutants and humans."

Magneto said, "There was a divide between humans and mutants long before I did anything."

Val said, "Your demand of a separate state would inevitably lead to war."

Magneto replied, "But, there is already a war. People are already fighting. They have already divided. And," he looked at Val and said, "you have to pick a side."

Val shook his head and said, "I would never pick a side. This 'war' can easily be avoided."

Magneto sighed and said, "Unfortunately, that would never happen."

Val shook his head and said, "Well, I won't stop you. Do whatever you want."

Val looked at the ceiling of the warehouse which was filled with broken windows and he could see the night sky from within them clearly.

He looked back at Magneto and said, "If you ever want genuine help, come to me in Queens. I am not a biased man like Charles. If I think you deserve help, I would whole-heartedly give it to you."

Seeing Magneto smile and nod, Val nodded at him and said, "Goodbye, Magneto." and flew in the air toward the sky through the open ceiling.
