Chapter 2 Stephen

Power! Strong power surged through every part of his body!

As he felt his whole body rejuvenated, a black wristband silently appeared on Arthur's wrist.

This was the inactive state of the Knight Spider suit.

In his mind, there was now a wealth of knowledge about the research related to the web shooters.

However, he felt that the web shooters were unnecessary.

Because he could take off and fly whenever he wanted.

At that moment, Gwen suddenly pressed her hand to her chest.

Just now, she had felt a strange flutter in her heart.

"Gwen, what's wrong?" Jessica noticed her unease.

"I suddenly felt a bit of heart palpitations," Gwen frowned.

"Could there be something wrong with your body?" Jessica asked with concern.

She nudged Arthur. "Brother, don't just stand there, help Gwen out."

Arthur supported Gwen as she sat down, speculating in his mind: Is it because I also have spider-sense now that it made Gwen shiver?

He said gently, "Gwen, do you need to go to the hospital for a check-up? I can drive you to Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Strange there is a friend of mine, and he can arrange an immediate examination."

"Well..."

Gwen hesitated, thinking about the origin of her powers.

It was something that happened not long ago during her summer internship at Oscorp.

One day, she walked into a lab full of spiders and was bitten by one. After hurriedly leaving, she discovered she had gained extraordinary abilities.

Now she was a bit worried that something might be wrong with her body.

Arthur could see Gwen's unease.

A hospital check-up would be good to put her mind at ease.

So, he scooped her up in a princess carry. "Don't be polite with me, come on!"

"Hey, Arthur, I'm fine, you don't have to do this." Gwen said, half laughing and half crying.

A grand superhero like "Ghost Spider" was being carefully taken care of by an ordinary person like a fragile patient.

Why did she feel kind of happy about it?

...

Presbyterian Hospital, a renowned hospital in New York City, a modified car that looked cooler than a sports car stopped at the entrance. Arthur, Gwen, and Jessica got out.

Honestly, coming here for a check-up was overkill, but with his connections, why not?

"Do we have an appointment, brother?"

"We don't need one, Jessica."

Arthur led the two girls directly to a department. The medical staff seemed to recognize him and did not stop them.

"Oh, the great artist, what brings you here? Did you cut yourself with a palette knife?"

In the office, a doctor with neatly trimmed stubble greeted Arthur.

He was Stephen Strange, currently a top surgeon, and the future Sorcerer Supreme.

His arrogance was comparable to Stark's.

Arthur had a good relationship with him and naturally sat down.

"Stop joking, Stephen. I remember I already messaged you."

"No problem, I've already asked a colleague to arrange everything."

Strange handed over a form from his desk. "Here's the form, just go and fill in the details."

Arthur handed it to Jessica. "You accompany Gwen for the check-up. I'll chat with Mr. Strange for a while."

Jessica took the form and teased, "You have this rare opportunity and you're not accompanying Gwen, but instead choosing to chat with a man here. Arthur, you're such a straight guy."

"Jessica, what are you talking about?" Gwen said shyly, pulling her away.

Arthur watched the two girls leave with a sigh.

He wasn't staying with the girls but chatting with Stephen to see if he could trigger Stephen's task. Maybe he could get a Sorcerer Supreme template as a reward.

"You should know, Arthur, I'm currently at work and don't offer chat services."

Though Strange said this, he still started chatting.

"Last time I passed by Sunnyvale Manor, I wanted to get a painting from you, but the gate was locked."

"What, don't you live there anymore?"

"If you're short of money, I can help you out. Just paint a portrait for me."

"Do you think I would be short of money?"

Arthur rolled his eyes. "Besides, I only paint portraits for beauties, so forget it."

"Painting nude art for those beautiful women?" Strange shrugged.

He poured two cups of coffee from a nearby coffee machine and placed them on the table. "Sometimes I really doubt your professional ethics, Arthur."

"Because of this cup of coffee, I won't argue with you." Arthur stirred the coffee with a spoon.

Strange: "So, why did you move? Sunnyvale Manor is such a prime location even I'm tempted."

Arthur: "It's too lonely there. I prefer my old place, so I moved back to the Lower East Side from the wealthy area. If you like, I can let you stay there temporarily."

"And when you want to bring a girl over, you'll make me move out, right?"

"You guessed it, Stephen, but there's no reward."

"..."

Strange glanced in the direction where Jessica and Gwen had left. "I have a feeling you moved back to the Lower East Side because of those two girls."

Arthur neither confirmed nor denied it. "Maybe."

"Are they of legal age, Arthur? I won't cover for you."

"..."
