Marvel: Starting from the Bottom

"Transmigration." Ah, such an interesting concept. Many dream about being reborn in a world filled with heroes and villains. But not me... Thrown into a world where Gods walk among mortals, I will do everything in my power to survive. Stealing, robbing, killing, manipulating? I will do them all. I will be the one to survive until the end. Heros, Villains, Eternals, Deviants, Gods, Demons... SCREW THEM ALL!!! This is my story and I will make sure that everyone gets that right! I am Marcellus, a mutant who started from the bottom. [Pat reon.com/Greedyfrog] [Disclaimer: Other than my MC and the OCs, I do not own anything used in this fanfiction.]

A Training Session

The X-Men had a special training room called the Danger Room that Xavier built after encountering the Shadow King.

Shadow King was an immortal mind controller that many might even consider him to be an abstract being— but compared to the rest, he was extremely weak.

Markus fought him during his quest to get rid of beings that could be a possible threat for the future. And Shadow King was one of the beings that he underestimated and nearly paid the price for it. But because he was the strongest version of Sentry, he managed to seal Shadow King forever— while sapping his life force away slowly.

"This danger room sounds interesting." Markus said as Kitty explained about the holographic features of the room.

"So, is your mutation combat oriented?" Kitty asked as they reached their destination.

"Kind of." Markus said, not giving her an accurate answer.

"Ah, look it's James and Kurt."

Markus looked at the people that Jean was referring to.

It was a short but burly man standing next to a tall and lanky boy with dark bluish skin and a long tail.

He had met the shorter of the two countless times— the man worked for him after all.

As for the other one, he figured it was Nightcrawler. His unique features were a dead giveaway.

James stared at him in surprise while Kurt looked at him in confusion.

'Why is he here?' James thought which Markus picked up with his mind-reading.

'Is that a new member?' While those were Kurt's thoughts.

Jean and Kitty walked towards the two with Markus following behind.

"Markus, meet James and Kurt." Jean introduced them with a smile on her face.

"James goes by Wolverine and is a teacher in this institute while Kurt is one of our teammates who goes with the alias Nightcrawler." Kitty added.

Nodding at her, Markus greeted them.

"Markus." He extended his hands, intentionally leaving out my surname.

"Kurt Wagner." Kurt said, accepting the handshake. "Are you a new member?"

Giving the members a small laugh, Markus shook his head. "Not really. Professor called me to see if I wanted to join. But I am just here to check the place."

"Markus wants to train with us." Kitty said, interrupting the two of them.

Kurt seemed interested in the suggestion but James seemed shocked and looked at Markus in confusion.

Markus gave James a smirk which made the Wolverine a little worried.

"Hoo… Someone wants to train with us?" A cocky voice interrupted their discussion.

Markus turned around to find two brown-haired boys. One had a smile on his face and the other had a serious look on his face with sunglasses covering his eyes.

"Bobby, Scott." Kitty and Jean smiled at their entrance. "We were waiting for you two."

"Sorry... got caught up in a match." Bobby apologised before looking at Markus. "Are you a new recruit?"

Bobby's question made the previously uninterested Scott— interested.

"Not yet." Kitty replied on Markus' behalf. "He wants to train with us though."

Bobby smirked. "You sure about that? We are pretty strong."

Markus shrugged. "I want to check where I stand amongst my generation of mutants."

"Oh, I like that." Bobby said and looked at Scott. "What do you say, Summers? Let him join us for this session? You are the leader after all."

Scott looked at Markus and nodded. "I don't mind. We have a good medical facility for anyone that gets hurt."

"Not that we get injured in the Danger Room." Bobby chuckled before looking at James who still stood shocked. "Are you going to join?"

Snapping back to reality, he tried regaining his composure. "No, I will be making sure that you don't go overboard."

"Alright then."

The reason for all this?

Boredom.

I want to enjoy a little before going back on the killing spree. Now, that most of the lower tier issues have been solved… I need to come up with ways to get rid of the bigger threats. And power is addicting… So, I am searching for ways to become more powerful— and I know just the way how.

But first, some entertainment.

"Are you sure about the teams?" James asked, worried about the students more than me.

"Yep." Bobby said. As he and Scott stood against Jean, Kitty and me.

I played along as I would love to see what they all are capable of. Sadly… Storm, Angel, Rogue and Beast are out on a mission so not every member is present for training.

But I guess these are enough for now.

"Begin." As James announced, Bobby immediately turned his body into ice while Scott adjusted the small dial next to his sunglasses.

Jean floated in the air with Kitty activating her powers as well.

Bobby started to decrease the temperature in the room, hoping to make our movements slower by freezing our muscles.

Taking the opportunity, Scott shot a laser at Kitty— which she barely avoided by becoming intangible.

Without waiting, Bobby created ice spikes and rained them down on us.

While I stood there, analysing their level— Jean stopped the spikes with her telekinesis. Without wasting time, Kitty rushed towards them with Jean making sure that Kitty remained safe.

I noticed that Kitty and Jean heavily focused on defence while Scott and Bobby were mostly on the offence.

Their skills needed polishing but they still managed to impress me.

As Kitty and Bobby fought, Scott looked at me and Jean and dialled the laser to medium.

Skillfully missing Jean, he shot the laser towards me— but I didn't dodge.

He froze and so did Jean as the laser went right through me. But before Jean could panic, they realised that I was unharmed.

The laser phased through me.

Intangibility was an ability that was a sub-ability of molecular manipulation called molecular distortion. And as one of the strongest molecular manipulation users, phasing through the laser was child's play.

"That could have been dangerous." I mumbled surprising Jean and Scott— while Bobby and Kitty looked at me.

"Intangibility?" Scott asked, which surprised Kitty and Bobby.

Hearing that, Jean sighed. 'Of course, he has that ability.'

But taking the opportunity of being inattentive, Kitty kicked Bobby in the gut and rushed towards us— creating distance between her and Bobby.

"You have the same ability as me?" She asked in both shock and hope. 'So that's why he said he could relate to my problems.'

Chuckling at her innocent thoughts, I shook my head. "Yes and no. I have a few more abilities and this is one of them."

"Scott, now!" Bobby had no plans of letting us talk and immediately attacked.

As Scott's laser shot towards us with Bobby's massive ice spike following behind— Jean rushed in front of us hoping to stop the attack with her telekinesis.

Now, Jean was strong… but she didn't have that much training to be able to stop such attacks.

James on the other hand was keeping an eye on me.

I didn't like losing and if I didn't interfere— we were definitely going to lose.

Placing a hand over her shoulder, I pulled her back. And as the attack was about to reach us— I activated my powers and the attack vanished— shocking everyone.

"What just happened?" Kitty asked in surprise but Jean looked at me and smiled.

Bobby and Scott were surprised and as they were about to try and attack again— I beat them to it.

Previously, I had used spatial manipulation to open a portal that caused the attack to go on infinitely through a continuous spatial loop.

I reopened the rift behind them and their own attack shot at them.

*BOOM!*

The shot connected, shocking everyone except Jean and James.

Without wasting time, James declared the result.

"Match! Markus' team wins!"

They are still naive, but still better than I thought.
