Chapter 126 Blade of Light

Li Yue hadn't really touched his weapon since the dwarves forged it for him. It almost like he had forgotten about it after he put it inside Mirror Dimension.

He didn't even take it out when fighting Homelander last time. Li Yue felt that it would be too unfair if he used a weapon when Homelander was barehanded.

More importantly, Li Yue had no idea how to use a weapon, so he probably wouldn't land a single hit against an agile enemy like Homelander.

But the situation was different right now. Dormammu was basically a massive, static target. And Li Yue need to go all out to maximize the damage he could inflict against Dormammu. The bonus damage of the weapon can't be ignored! After all, it was made by the Dwarf King, Eitri himself!

Li Yue's aura exploded several level as he summoned his weapon! The silver lightning that surrounded his body began to change color into an unnatural blue light.

"What is Li Yue holding in his hand? Why is it so strange?"

The spectating crowd couldn't help but be baffled by the strange weapon that Li Yue just summoned.

The first to voice his confusion was Tony. He had prided himself as Li Yue's closest friend, yet how come he had no idea about this weapon summoning ability?

"Oh! I know that one! That's the weapon we asked the Dwarves to make, just like my Stormbreaker. The Dwarf King made it."

Thor was the one who answered Tony's question. He had slammed into several asteroids (and meteorids, which were slightly less bad) after Dormammu slapped him, but his body was strong enough to withstand the full power of a neutron star, so the asteroids barely scratched him!

Thor quickly recovered from the attack, but he didn't return to the fight against Dormammu when he saw Li Yue confronting the dark god. He instead flew towards Tony and joined the spectating crew.

"Oh right, it also had some weird name. What was it again? Shaquin or whatever; it's too hard to remember!"

"Shangbaoqin Golden Rake!"

Wong the librarian suddenly chimed in!

"Yes, yes, yes! It's called Shangbaoqin Golden Rake! That was what Li Yue said back then!"

Thor immediately agreed with what Wong said! That name was indeed the one that Li Yue given to Thor and Eitri back then!

"'Yes,' my ass, he was messing with you. That weapon was obviously not the Shangbaoqin Golden Rake, the shape is obviously all wrong. It's the Trident Halberd, the legendary weapon of the Second Young Emperor, True Immortal Yang Jian!"

Wong immediately added, mockery in his tone. He couldn't help but explain the true name and origin of Li Yue's weapon!

"Trident Halberd? Yang Jian's weapon? Then who used the Shangbaoqin Golden Rake?" Thor muttered; he was still very confused.

"That one's used by an ugly pig. The Trident Halberd is obviously more majestic!"

"Even a pig can use weapons? The Chinese people are really something else!"

Wong's reply made Thor cry out in surprise! Other spectators were also surprised by this answer, but only Thor was surprised enough to express it out loud!

Li Yue heard every words of the spectators' commentary; he had acquired superhuman hearing from Homelander, after all. Li Yue almost got a heart attack and fell from the sky when he heard Thor saying "Shangbaoqin Golden Rake!"

Li Yue really regretted that one joke he made. He silently vowed to never joke around again, especially when dealing with Thor.

But Li Yue couldn't spare any more time to care about the silly conversation between Tony and Thor: Dormammu had finally gathered enough dark energy. The swirling mass of horrifyingly dense dark energy was aimed right at Li Yue, ready to be fired!

Even Li Yue would feel fear when Dormammu's immense aura locked into him, but he wasn't particularly worried. If he went all out and still can't defeat Dormammu, then the Earth was doomed anyway.

Li Yue wasn't sure how strong this attakc would be: he only knew that he would have to use his superpower before the attack even fired if he wanted to avoid it. But avoiding the attack wasn't his objective.

Li Yue began focusing his own energy, channeling countless lightning arcs that mixed with blue space energy and slithered along his arm into the Trident Halberd.

As his energy continued to condense, Li Yue felt his Trident Halberd trembling slightly, as if it was a hungry baby that greedily consumed milk!

"Oh? This much is not enough for you? Then I'll give it all to you!"

Li Yue stopped holding back and closed his eyes, communicating directly with the stary sky of his soul to draw an immense amount of blue space energy that he immediately fed into the Trident Halberd.

Dormammu finally fired his attack. The beam was so massive that it looked like it came straight out of a fantasy anime.

Although, unlike in anime where such beam was usually composed of bright light, Dormammu's beam was made of dark energy with streaks of purple light! The immense destructive power rushed straight at Li Yue.

"Use your ears to listen. Use your heart to slash!"

Li Yue's attack was ready almost at the same time. For some reason, such a cliched line entered his mind as his grip on the Trident Halberd tightened!

Right before Dormammu's beam attack hit him, Li Yue opened his eyes and slashed diagonally with his Trident Halberd!

Following the arc of Li Yue's weapon, a crescent blade of blue light appeared, confronting the nearly meter-thick energy beam!

The blade of blue light started out just about two meters long, but it rapidly grew to more than ten meters as it rushed at Dormammu's energy beam!

Whoosh!

There was no shockwave, nor invisible explosion where the blade collided with the beam.

However, right where the blade touched the beam, the energy beam was split in two, both of which barely grazed Li Yue's body as they shot past him.

Countless of planetoids in the beams' path were instantly obliterated, the mass of rocks dozens of meters in diameter erased from existence. Dormammu's attack was by no means weak!

The blue crescent blade of light didn't stop after slicing the beam in two. It continued in its path, keeping its dense blue luster as it grew even bigger.

The blade had started out only two meters long, but it had already surpassed the size of Dormammu's gigantic face.

Unable to dodge, Dormammu was directly slashed by the blade of light.

The blade of light didn't stop even after slicing through Dormammu. It continued for thousands of meters, its length grew way past a hundred meters as it passed through countless planetoid before finally fading away!

Dormammu's face showed no sign of damage, as if the blade of light was merely a gust of wind, but it was different story for the planetoids behind him. The planetoids all slowly separated, cleanly split by the blade of light!

The surfaces of the cuts were as smooth as a mirror!
