Chapter 11

"Whelp, might as well do this." I said as I started to stretches, not like I really needed to do them but, you know, mental preparation.

"Mister Owen, whenever you're ready." Xavier's voice echoed through the room and I had to stop myself from telling him to get out of my head, he was speaking from the speakers after all. I was far too ready to assume the worst of him, which was definitely his fault since he had put me in the spotlight without any way for me to refuse.

Oh well, then I might as well show off a little. Especially since three super sexy soon to be classmates and a super sexy teacher was watching as well.

I felt my arms and legs elongate and become wider as my skin lost its pale color and turned into a blackish orange with crack lines running through all of my body, glowing with the color of lava, both my fingers and toes elongating until they became akin to claws. Finally my head started to change shape and in a moment, the normal human head was replaced by a diamond shaped monstrosity of same color and patterns as the rest of my body.

"Ready!" I yelled, small flickers of fire coming out of my body.

Charles Xavier did not consider himself to be a prideful man. Which was really fortunate since that meant he wasn't in denial against the chill he had from Damian's transformation.

He had thought that... whatever it was that he had encountered in young Damian's mind was merely something he created with his imagination in order to intimidate him, but now that the young man had took the monster's shape and the words of Jean... he wasn't sure what to think.

Still, he was here for a reason so he had the Danger Room activate some basic training exercises; which seemed to have taken the rest of the X-Men out of their shocked state.

Then they entered into another shocked state cause, excuse his language, holy shit! How can two teenagers be so brutal, even if they were against machines?!

Sure he hadn't exactly been expecting them to be docile and playing nice kind of people, Laura was the technical daughter of Logan and Damian was someone who had slapped Magneto through the sound barrier for wrecking his house after all.

But he wasn't exactly expecting Laura to go through machines like a small tornado of blades and death either, those things weren't cheap damn it, which was nothing compared to the carnage Damian was making out of the room.

He had once thought that he had seen the impressive limits of shapeshifting with Mystique who could turn into anyone, any animal or even any object. He had even once seen her turn her arm into a blade sharp enough to cut metal like a hot knife cutting through butter.

Mystique had nothing on Damian.

The young man was not simply changing his limbs to different shades. With each of his small movements, more and more tendrils grew out of his body and started to whip around with fire on them. If one looked closely, they could also see that some of the tendrils were revolving at high speeds like drills.

The sheer mastery the young man seemed to have over his powers... Xavier could not help but think whether Damian could actually be classified as a student when it came to powers.

"That... is either the creepiest or the coolest thing I have ever seen." Bobby declared with wide eyes as he watched Damian tear through a machine that was sending out cold energy towards him with his claws that used to be his hand.

"Creepiest."

"Coolest." And then Rogue and miss Pryde were glaring at each other. Ahh, young friendship with differing views; it would be no problem as long as one of them didn't try to create an army to support their view and try to use the army in order to make war against the other view.

Though his attention was mostly focused on Jean who was gazing at the small mechanic carnage with great intensity of such that he had never seen in any of his students.

This... this could be bad. He probably should take a look at Damian's past records, see if there was anything that might lead to the fact that Jean found him familiar. Cause if there wasn't... yeah, he didn't like where that thought process was headed towards. He still had nightmares from that thing he had found in Jean's mind when they had first met.

"So, are they joining the team?" Fortunately, he had Scott to distract him from such disturbing thoughts. To answer him though...

"As I already said, whether they'll join the X-men or not will be their choice." Charles said with a shake of his head while Scott sighed.

"I hope they do, it would be nice to have a proper powerhouse like that against Blob." Charles wasn't sure what to think of his student thought process immediately going towards the battle applications of the newest student with such a normal tone like he was talking about weather. Was that Charles' fault?

"So she is like a mini Logan and he shaleshifts and makes fire. Pretty cool." Bobby said as he kept watching the exercise.

"The boy is a telepath as well, as Chuck found out the hard way." Logan said with a snort, ignoring the glare he got from Ororo, much like Charles himself was trying to ignore the curious looks his X-Men were sending his way.

"Another telepath." Except for Jean who was staring down at the training exercise with even more intensity and a childlike wonder in her eyes. Not surprising since there were no other telepaths among the students other than her, the thought of having someone of similar skills to herself was making her excited. Charles was happy for her.

Though he was also somewhat concerned about what might happen if their minds were to connect, Charles could only envision fire in such a situation. Lots of fire.
