Chapter 004 | Manipulating Steve Rodgers and new reward

Lex and Steve is sitting in a bar with a couple of beers by their sides. Rodgers is still terrified about what has just happened.

He never saw anyone get kill before, that made him look at life a bit differently, his grandfather always said to choose justice rather than revenge.

So Steve took that oath to heart with him, that's why Steve is a naive person who always think someone can be redeemed.

But after the killing and the life and death situation, Steve's point of view for the world has shifted and changed for the better.

Right now though, his savior is standing calmly drinking a beer acting like he didn't just killed somebody.

"You want as ask me, why I killed those gangsters?"

Lex said coldly, he knows that this is the future Captain America, the American icon and hero during the World War (||) era.

But Lex doesn't care about Steve's future accomplishments, if Steve gets in his way, Lex would not hesitate to get rid of him.

Cough…

Yeah…

Said Rodgers with a little uncertainty, he knows that this dangerous guy in front of him has a huge backing so, Rodgers is smart enough to back off.

"They would've killed you if, I wasn't there."

Lex is trying to make little Steve devoted to him, Lex wants Steve's loyalty and trust, if he has Steve's trust, Lex would be unstoppable in New York.

"But still, you could've just injured him and call the police."

Rodgers is still trying to cling on to his grandfather's wishes by saying what is right to Lex, but Lex is about to shatter his view of the world.

[Ding]

Quest: Destroy Steve Rodger's view of the world and his sense of justice by manipulating his emotions and views to society.

[Reward: Heat Vision]

Seeing the reward, Lex has motivation and ambitions in his eyes, so he started to manipulate Steve's views of the world.

"Steve, why do you have a sense of justice?"

Hearing the subtle question, Steve begins to answer…

"Justice shows us a great deal of things, like it can redeem someone who has had it bad like me or, it shows us our humanity, it represents the beauty of the world."

Listening to Steve's speech, Lex can hear an overly-enthusiastic expression on his face, he knows that Steve right now is a naive kid.

"Your sense of justice is commendable, but look at the bigger picture, the United States Government doesn't care about it's people, all it cares about is it's money."

"People in the War right now are dead, Countries from all sides are investing for greed, wealth, and desire, once you have out-lived your usefulness, they cut you out like a cancer."

Every word Lex is spilling is like a set of daggers hitting Steve's heart with these words, Even though Steve doesn't want to believe it, he can hear some sense of truth and sincerity.

Lex continued…

"Your sense of justice is flawed, your dreams and understanding of this greedy-torn country is laughable, your fighting for the very people who'll cut you out like a…cancer."

"Hah"

"Thanks for the drink, I owe you one come to me when your ready to wake up from your laughable fantasies…Steve Rodgers."

After Lex walked out of the bar, Steve is standing there without moving, his views of the world are clashing against each other.

Lex's words gave Steve a sense of doubt about the things, and the world he has come to enjoy, discarding all of the troublesome things like gangsters.

"Is my Judgment about this country is really so flawed and naive?"

While Rodgers is having a clash with his world views, Lex walked up to a gang of thugs and took a few hundred dollars out of it.

The thug's eyes were greedy when seeing Lex randomly pull out a few hundred dollars, some of them wants to force Lex to hand over the money.

"I want you to grab your guns and kill everyone in this bar, I'll give you a few hundred dollars, don't leave anyone alive, except that little guy over there sitting alone beat him until near unconsciousness."

"Once I see the bodies in the bar, come outside, and I'll give you your payment, deal."

After having that conversation, Lex strode calmly out of the bar with a smile on his face, he wants to break Steve's world view even further by having a group of thugs kill on those innocent civilians.

"What do we do, should we just do it and grab the money?"

Said of the thugs, hearing the mysterious man demand, the group of thugs were waging in on their options, if they do it, they can be set for a couple of days.

If they don't, they can lose out on a whole lot of money.

"We should do it, grab your guns let's kill some civilians and leave that tiny guy alive, alright?"

The group of thugs got up and grabbed their guns.

Everyone, have a nice time in Hell."

With their guns loaded, they stared firing their guns, body parts and flesh were already all over the bar spreading around on the table and getting in their liquors.

Bang…

Bang…

Bang…

With no mercy nor remorse in their eyes, the thugs continued to kill them all like ants on the streets, even some pregnant ladies all died in the shootout.

Rodger was still thinking about his world views, when he heard about some gunshots sounding in the bar, waking him up from his stupor.

Steve was terrified again today for a 2nd time, he just saw a group of thugs with guns in their hands and murderous intent in their eyes.

Steve saw some blood got on his shirt and face, which causes him to vomit, he never saw this much destruction especially in a single place.

After the gunshots ended, the thugs walked over to Steve's figure with murderous intent in their eyes.

Crack…

All those thugs started to crack their fists in anticipation, they can't wait to get that money from Lex.

Steve tried to back away, but it's too late…

Boom…

Pow…

Thud…

All of the thugs started to beat down Rodger's figure with iron knuckles and their weapons, with Steve's little body, he passed out, but that didn't stop the thugs from beating him.

After the beatdown, the thugs leaves Steve there with a broken nose, dislocated jaw, black eye, and broken teeth.

Lex was standing there with a smile on his face…

[Ding]

[Reward: Heat Vision]

After hearing the prompt of the DC/Marvel System, Lex's eyes begins to change, a mass amounts of Solar Energy begins to appear in Lex's eyes causing him to close his eyes for awhile.

Thud…

The thugs walked out of the door with greedy and happy expressions on their faces, they just completed a job.

"Hey you, we just kill everyone, hand over the money?"

After his demand, Lex opens his eyes, and a thin layer of red light came out of Lex's eyes causing the thugs to stop.

Pooh…

Aaaah…

Blood sprayed everywhere, the thugs all died, body parts were all over the street, heads, arms, and even half-cut body parts were all over the street, creating a horror scene.

Lex smiled and walked to the last-remaining survivor, he stared him into the eyes with a tinge of Solar Energy into his eyes.

"Wha- What are you?"

The thug's face was filled with fear, and a layer of cold sweat broke from his body causing his neck hairs to stand up.

"A soon to be God"

Lex summoned his Heat Vision directly shooting them in the thug's eyes.

Aaaaah….

A huge hole the size of a mini-basketball hoop appeared in the thug's head causing his skull, eyes, and even brains to evaporate.

Thud…

With a thud, Lex walked back to his car and shuts the door he cranked the car engine up and leaves the crime scene.

"Vrooom…!"
