Chapter 5 : Bad luck

The young blue man and James were sitting on the floor and looking at each other while James held his chin.

"So you're a mutant with the ability to teleport."

"Yes."

"You got scared, so you accidentally teleported us to Charles Xavier Academy."

"Yes, sorry."

"Okay, I forgive you, now you can take me back to town, otherwise my boss will probably fire me."

The young man shakes his head with an expression full of guilt.

"I can't, my abilities are not as powerful, I teleported us here because I was in shock and instinctively went to a place I thought was safe."

"So, you can't take me back?"

"Yes, I will."

"...."

"But I know how to do it. Follow me to the academy, we'll probably find a vehicle to drop you off."

James could only sigh, he got up off the ground and looked at the familiar young blue man.

"What's your name?"

"Kurt Wagner."

"James King, show me the way."

Kurt rose from the ground and walked in a direction that James followed.

James walked towards the academy while Kurt asked him questions.

"Mr. James, why don't you seem afraid of the way I look?"

James put his hand on Kurt's shoulder and said in a reassuring voice.

"Even though you are ugly, it is not to the point of being able to frighten me and my mother always taught me not to judge people by their appearance and don't worry, I am sure you will find a nice woman in the future who will love you."

Kurt hearing this looked at James' face and really wanted to beam him into a volcano, but he quickly calmed down.

"I'm not talking about my appearance but about my superpowers, all normal people are scared of mutants, think of us as monsters, but you don't seem to be scared."

James's gaze became more serious, he said in a low voice.

"As I told you, I don't judge people by their appearance, there are sometimes beautiful and nice people who hide the greatest evil in them and strange and unfriendly-looking people like you who have a heart of gold, human appearance is often deceptive."

Kurt looked strangely at James who walked beside him for a while and then continued walking.

But while they were a few dozen meters away from the academy, he suddenly heard an explosion. The next second, dozens of people suddenly appeared in the academy courtyard.

Huge flames gushed out of the building, the walls were shattered and projected, the building began to collapse due to the shock wave.

James following Kurt arrived in the academy courtyard, several people watching the academy burning.

"What happened?" Asked Kurt of a man James recognized immediately, he was the famous McCoy, also known as Beast.

"We were attacked, the professor was captured."

All the students coughed because of the smoke emitted by the university in flame and then their eyes settled on Raven.

"She's the one."

"That's her".

"Are you sure?"

"Is she going to help us?"

"They look up to you". McCoy said as he looked at Raven with all the students' eyes turned to her.

"Right now, they need you ."

"That's not what they need".

"Whoa!"

Kurt's friends, driving a yellow car, arrived at the academy.

A few dozen minutes earlier, they had decided to go back to the academy to ask Professor Xavier to look for Kurt, because he had completely disappeared.

But when they arrived, they were stunned by what they saw.

Scott, one of the new students at the academy, got out of the car and ran towards the crowd.

"What happened, where's Alex, Where's my brother?"

"I'm pretty sure, I got everybody." replied a young white-haired man, it was the young mutant Maximoff who would later become the famous Quick silver.

"Alex was closest to the blast." said McCoy sadly in a weak voice.

Scott rushed into the rubble followed by John and his other comrades.

Kurt seeing this rushed towards them, James noticing this followed him by taking his shoulder.

"Sorry to interrupt your moment of sadness, but someone can give me a ride back to town."

Kurt didn't answer, he just looked at Scott at the bedside of his brother's charred corpse in the rubble.

Suddenly, a delightful helicopter noise was heard, a few seconds later, US Army helicopters landed in the academy.

James, seeing this, uttered countless swear words, insulting his luck with every possible name while hiding behind the rubble.
