M Ch 65: Emma Frost

Erik was in deep contemplation as he observed Emma Frost from outside her sleeping pod.

Emma Frost was a person Erik wasn't much sure if she was good or not. He had seen her portrayed both as evil and good. Movies aside, in some fanfics, she was even an X-Men and worked for Charles as a teacher in his school, while in others she was the manipulating White Queen bitch.

"Now then... let's see which one is this one," Erik muttered to himself as he touched the glass under which the blonde slept.

It honestly didn't matter much to him, he just didn't want her to get in his way in the future. And he also didn't want to free a power hungry, ruthless, and possibly an evil manipulator. 

He mentally commanded [Resurrected] Wanda and Wasp to protect him in case of an ambush and then dived into Frost's mind.

"Who are you?" Emma Frost's subconscious projection asked, her arms folded under her large breasts.

Her blonde hair was tied in a bun and she was wearing a full-sleeved white top and black pencil skirt, a considerable part of cleavage was showing from the boob window on the top. If Erik didn't know better then he would assume that she was a porn actress in a Teacher's getup.

"Eirikyr Anderson." He introduced himself without minding her presence and continued to look for important memories in her mind.

Emma's heels clicked sharply on the white floor as she followed him. "Are you with the U-Men?" she asked again, her tone suspicious.

Erik just walked around looking for memories as he replied, "No, I'm not."

'Huh, turns out her getup isn't just for a show...'

Her recent memories showed that she came to Japan as a teacher for a teenage Japanese girl who lived here in Tohoku, however, when she noticed the Telepathic dead zone, she tried to look for the cause and was ambushed by U-Men's cyborgs. 

Since the cyborg didn't have minds that she could control, she was captured and then placed here. It appeared like she was captured a month ago.

From just this much, it seems like she wasn't a bad person. He also sensed fondness towards her Japanese student.

Meanwhile, his attitude as he kept on snooping into her memories irritated her, he wasn't even looking hesitant, "You're really mannerless, huh... Don't you know that you shouldn't snoop into other's minds without consent? A good telepath should know this."

"I don't think I should be getting a lecture on good or bad from you, Emma Frost, the White Queen of the Inner Circle." He said, first time making eye contact with her.

She sighed, realizing the fault of her own image.

"Your information bank needs an update. It's been months since I've left the Inner Circle."

"Is that so?"

Erik noted that information, he must've missed this rather major change. Well during that time, he was fanatically busy studying DNAs to integrate them into his new body. So, it wasn't surprising he didn't check on the updates of one of the dozens of major evil mutant organizations on Earth...

The blonde nodded, and then asked another question, "Tell me, did Charles send you here?"

"No, I'm not with Charles. I was here for some personal business. Noticed something off just like you and after taking care of two weird men who were apparently the leader of U-Men, I found you captured, peacefully taking a nap." Erik replied as he came across a metallic wall.

Emma Frost leaned on the wall, "If you're letting me free then you have my gratitude. However, you can't look after this. Also don't even think of wasting your time in breaching the wall. The mental defenses that I have built are so strong that even Charles Xavier can't penetrate them." Her voice was confident.

The wall was really tough, an ordinary Telepath wouldn't be able to put a scratch on this wall. However, this was Erik, he had Maw's memories of training that he received from Supergiant. She had helped him build his own mental defenses and taught him ways to destroy them too just for the sake of it.

Erik put his left palm on the wall and then looked into Emma's eyes, "As I said, I found you captive in U-Men's base. But before freeing you, I just wanted to make sure of what kind of person you are."

He shifted his gaze back toward the wall, "I didn't want to judge you based on rumors, so, I invaded your mind."

As he applied a bit more force on the wall with just his left hand, the wall cracked and shattered like glass.

Emma's eyes widened in shock and then her brows twisted in anger, however, she calmed herself and then closed her eyes in contemplation.

This wasn't the last line of defense for her memories of course, but the way he effortlessly wrecked one of the strongest walls of her mental defense stunned her.

This guy was powerful.

He could see all her memories after destroying one after another line of defenses.

But right now, he just wanted to make sure if she was evil or not.

Truthfully, from what she observed these kind of people don't really care if she was a good person or not. He just wanted to make sure if she would get in his way in the future or not...

And honestly, she was fed up with mind games, plotting, manipulating, and all that — evil for-a-cause bullshit. She was a changed individual, she had nothing to hide from him.

She came to Japan just to nurture a young girl into a good individual and help her train her powers.

Sighing, Emma opened her eyes, "Fine, I'll show that you don't need to be wary of me. Come with me..."

To gain her freedom, she decided to show him what he wanted. And by showing him herself, she would be able to keep her other private memories from him. No way she was letting accidently come across her bathing or 'self-pleasure' memories!

"Lead the way," Erik followed.

Emma started with memories of her childhood...

As she sat on a swing, she listened to some adult women talking about her.

"That girl gives me creeps. It's like she can read your mind."

"What's worse is that icy stare."

"They say that she's a mutant."

"Mutant? That's creepy."

At first she hated her powers, hated how different she was from the rest. Then she showed him how she embraced her powers, using them for personal gain. Her intelligence and beauty drew people to her, and she exploited them mercilessly.

However, she got bored with human society. She was already at the top.

Then she met Jason Wyngarde aka the Mastermind, the leader of Inner Circle.

After joining the Inner Circle, she took it to new heights.

However, not understanding the significance of her powers she made mistake after mistake... until she drove her young assistant to her death.

That was another one of the turning points in her life.

And that was enough of Inner Circle... She quit.

After that, she worked as a teacher, nurturing young mutants into good individuals showing them the right path.

Some time ago, she was contacted by a Japanese couple who wanted to hire Emma for their daughter.

For a few weeks, she taught the Japanese girl online but then she decided to come to Japan to teach her face-to-face.

However, before she could even meet her, she was caught when she tried to investigate the Telepathic dead zone...

"This was the last thing I remember..." Emma's subconscious projection said after narrating the major events of her life that shaped her to become what she is now.

'Well, Emma Frost was in the clear. This one seems like a reformed version of her.' Erik thought, as he checked for signs of alteration and such but found none.

Erik was genuinely impressed by her motivation to guide young mutants to the right path. She didn't want them to owe her so, she took small fees as well. She didn't want to recruit them for a self-righteous team. She didn't have any ulterior motives to teach the young mutants.

She seemed like a teacher truly devoted to guiding her students...

'Is she the one? Did Ancient One ask me to come here to save her and ask her to take care of Shilpa?' As the realization dawned on him, he decided to get Emma on his side while also not wanting to be seen as too desperate.

"Hm, I believe you," Erik replied. "And I apologize if my intrusion in your mind made you uncomfortable. With the rumors surrounding you, I just had to be careful."

Emma nodded, "That's understandable. I hope you don't doubt me anymore and could free me without any delay."

Erik nodded and exited her mind.
