x-men to the rescue(chapter 34)

However, just as he was about to reach her, the vampire woman stretched out her hand and unleashed a blast of concussive telekinetic energy. The force pushed Adam back with surprising strength, sending him tumbling across the road. Grunting as he picked himself up, Adam suddenly found his throat gripped by the vampire woman. She pinned him against the glass window of a jewelry store, her mouth agape as she sniffed at his neck.

"Gah, okay, now you're creeping me out," Adam exclaimed, feeling the woman's icy touch. Confusion flashed across her face as she muttered to herself, her expression a mix of frustration and bewilderment.

"What? Impossible! Why can't I suck your life force, mortal?" she yelled, her voice echoing with frustration before slamming adam against the glass wall, cracking it while also causing adam to accidently bitting his tongue, flooding his mouth. "WHY?" Her gaze bore into Adam's eyes, demanding an answer. Adam, undeterred, flashed a bloodied smile, his lips bruised from the encounter.

---------------------------------------------

"Well," he began, his voice tinged with amusement, "looks like I'm not on the menu tonight." His cheeky remark earned him a sharp slap from the vampire woman, her strength surprising him as she nearly knocked out a tooth.

As Adam staggered back, he noticed a white mana sword materialize and pierce through the vampire woman's stomach. She recoiled in pain, her expression shifting from confusion to anger in an instant. With a mental command, Adam controlled the mana sword to further wound her, but the vampire woman's supernatural healing quickly sealed the wound.

"You... you are a sorcerer," she muttered, her tone now laced with a mixture of surprise and wariness. Pushing Adam aside with a powerful shove, she focused on the mana sword still lodged in her abdomen. With a wave of her hand, she dismantled the spell, her eyes narrowing as she regarded Adam with newfound respect.

Adam, meanwhile, struggled to his feet, his body aching from the impact. The vampire woman, now composed and intrigued, approached him with an almost seductive sway. "Well, I am full of surprises, but do tell, who are you?" Adam asked, trying to keep his wits about him amidst the chaos.

As he posed his question, Adam couldn't help but notice the odd noises around them — animal-like sounds and the unmistakable laughter of a trash panda. Looking up, he saw lights on in nearby buildings, indicating that they were being watched.

Facing Adam's query, the vampire woman, known as Selena, seemed amused by his nonchalant demeanor. "Well, since it's your dying wish to know, I am called Selena, the Moon Goddess, the Dark Queen, the—" Before she could finish, Adam cut her off with a dismissive wave.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever," Adam interjected, his tone casual as he reached for the wooden mask at his side. Placing it over his face, he disappeared from Selena's view in an instant, much to her annoyance.

"If you think that's enough to evade my senses, mortal, then you are wrong," Selena scoffed, her voice filled with disdain. "There is no hiding from the Queen of Darkness." With a flick of her wrist, she began to weave a spell, her eyes glinting with a dangerous light.

Selena, in the midst of casting a spell, suddenly felt a sharp slice at the back of her knee, causing her to drop to one leg with a gasp. Adam's voice echoed around her, chilling in its determination. "Oh, I don't plan to hide," he declared as he swiftly moved, slicing her throat with a deft stroke. Selena clutched at her neck, blood trickling through her fingers as she growled in frustration. "This is pointless, sorcerer," she spat, her eyes flashing with anger as she rose to her feet. "If that is how you wish to play, then so be it," she said, her tone icy and resolute.

Fully healed now, Selena's form blended seamlessly into her shadow, her laughter echoing around them. "Now I see you," she taunted, her voice coming from all directions. Adam cursed under his breath, realizing that the mask had granted him the ability to see her shadow form just as she could see him. As Selena advanced toward him like a specter, Adam quickly retrieved the Moon Horn, firing off a mana bomb that detonated where her shadowy figure stood. The explosion forced her out of the shadow form, half of her face blown off in the process.

"Aghh, fine, sorcerer. You are annoying to kill," Selena hissed, her face quickly regenerating as she prepared a larger-scale spell. "But let's see if you survive this," she said with a sadistic smile, her energy crackling around her.

Just as she was about to unleash her spell, a flower circle suddenly appeared between them, catching both sorcerers' attention. Adam and Selena recognized the gate, the same one mutants used to travel around the world. Selena groaned in frustration, her plans interrupted. "Oh, come on! I was starting to have fun," she complained, canceling her spell in response to the gate's appearance.

From the gate emerged four figures, all of whom Adam recognized immediately. Professor X, wearing his signature full helmet, led the group, followed by Cyclops, Jean Grey, and a stunning blonde bombshell in a white dress and white lipstick — Emma Frost. Professor X was the first to speak, his voice calm but authoritative. "Selena, what are you doing? Attacking a human child?" he questioned, his brows furrowing beneath the helmet.

Selena rolled her eyes at Professor X's inquiry. "Well, Charles, if you must know, I was merely investigating why I couldn't access this human child's mind," she replied nonchalantly, though no one believed her. Jean Grey's voice cut through the tension, her tone stern. "Did you have to go this far? All you needed to do was ask," she said, her gaze fixed on Selena with disapproval.

Meanwhile, Adam took the opportunity to catch his breath and recover his spiritual force. "He's surprisingly tougher than he looks," selena remarked with a hint of annoyance, glancing at Adam as he cast a healing lotus spell to mend his minor injuries. Sensing their gazes on him, Adam groaned and straightened himself before muttering, "Oh, fuck off, you spooky bitch," as he walked away, leaving the X-Men surprised by his irreverence as he though, "i really let down my guard, this world is bananas on its own," he sighted as he left the area as fast as he could, "as if getting hunted by others wasn't enough, now i have an immortal vampre sorcrers on my ass" sighting even more, adam started to brain storm on how to beat selene

mean while Selena made her way back to the gate, but not before turning around to address Adam. "Don't worry, mortal sorcerer. I will find you," she warned, but her words were met with a defiant middle finger and a mana sword at her throat, which logged into her through, which she promptly removed before entering the gate.

The X-Men arrived at Krakoa, their mutant nation, an island sanctuary teeming with diverse flora and fauna. They walked together back to a round table, each taking their seat. Emma Frost was the first to speak, turning to Selena with a teasing glint in her eye. "So, someone that age was able to make you sweat and bleed this much? Looks like I know whom I am hiring," she quipped, causing Selena to roll her eyes.

Author's Note: Yeah, Adam lost, and it's kinda my fault for pitting him against Selene of all people. But this peasant needed to learn his place; he was getting complacent with creating a spell circle. Anyways, the reason why her lifeforce absorption or psychic lifeforce absorption didn't work on him is that if she did absorb his lifeforce psychically, then she would have gained his memories, and the system aka me, would not allow it,
