Chapter 064

After finding out that The Lizard was Dr. Connors Peter ran straight to the police station, wanting to tell Captain George Stacy about him.

But Captain Stacy didn't believe what Peter was telling him and had him removed from his office, leaving Peter with no other option but to deal with The Lizard himself.

'What should I do? I need to save the city from Dr. Connors. He's dangerous.'

He thought as he walked on the streets, his head full of thoughts.

It wasn't like he had no one to ask help from. Lycan has given him a comm link to contact him in case of danger.

If he asked him for help, he would surely do so.

Peter knew that but since he had found out that The Lizard was none other than Dr. Connors, he wanted to solve it by himself.

He felt a sense of responsibility as he had been helping Dr. Connors in his research.

Now due to the equation being imbalanced and Dr. Connors using the Lizard gene, he had transformed into a giant lizard monster and the chemicals are even making him go insane.

'I need to get proof to show that Dr. Connors is The Lizard. But how…'

Peter was thinking that, standing on 5th avenue. It was then that he saw a small lizard crawling into the sewers. 

His eyes glued to the lizard as he finally got the answer to his question.

"Yes, the sewers! That's the perfect place to hide for a giant Lizard."

He muttered and immediately made a plan on how he was gonna deal with The Lizard. Walking up to an alley where no one could see him, Peter took out his camera from his bag which was perfect for getting proof about the Lizard.

He then wore his Spiderman suit and immediately went towards the entrance of the sewers.

As Spiderman was moving his way towards the sewers, Dr. Connors was in his lab, doing tests on himself.

[Subject: Dr. Curtis Connors.]

[Current temperature: 89.7]

[Steady for 48 hours.]

A robotic voice came out as he stared at the computer that was listing down the changes happening in his body.

[Blood panels reveal lymphocyte and monocyte readings... consistent with the subject's past.]

[Clotting rate vastly improved.]

[Marked enhancement... in muscle response... strength and elasticity.]

[Eyesight similarly improved.]

[Subject no longer requires corrective lenses.]

"This is no longer about curing illness."

He muttered, not believing what the monitor was showing him. Everything in his body has changed and his eyesight that had troubled him from childhood has also improved significantly.

He doesn't even need to wear glasses now.

Looking at the results, he realised the potential that his serum has. The lizard genes have shown him the way to become something a human can never achieve through the slow pace of evolution.

"This is about... finding perfection."

He said, sitting down and drinking a whole bottle of water. A smile was plastered on his face.

If anyone was there, they would have pointed out that the smile on Dr. Connors face was scary. More like crazy.

Like the smile that mad scientists would have in old science fiction movies.

But at this moment, Dr. Connors didn't care about any of that. According to him, his research into cross species genetics has yielded far better results than possible.

If he can do it right, he will change the whole of humanity. No, he will go on to create a species that will rule over humanity.

Humans were too weak for him.

In his thoughts, he turned on the TV wanting to know what was going on in the outside world when he was busy in his experiments.

"A monster? No, I'm just an advanced species that will reign above humans."

Dr. Connors said, closing the TV. 

He didn't want to hear the nonsense of news reporters about how he was a monster. They were too stupid to understand how advanced he was.

"I will show everyone how perfect I am as a species!"

He said and without wasting any time picked up an injection filled with a dosage of his serum. He injected it in his arm and his eyes became a pale yellow.

The serum flowed in his veins as a robotic voice rang out.

[In an attempt to redress regenerative relapse... dosage has been increased to 200 milligrams.]

[There's a chance for the subject to permanently change his state.]

[Changes have started to occur...]

"Yes… Yes… I can feel it… I CAN FEEL IT!"

His voice changed at the end as his arm started to regrow slowly but at a steady face. His eyes became a deep shade of yellow and his skin changed colour.

From white to thin green and finally to a deep shade of green as his skin became harder, rougher. Completely different from the soft skin of humans.

Dr. Connors screamed as he felt his body exploding with strength. His clothes ripped apart as he grew in size and his shoes blew up as his legs became too big for them.

A tail sprouted out from his back and he could feel every change that was happening in his body. 

Claws took the place of his hands, his hair disappeared and his teeth grew in size. Suddenly, he was seeing the world in a different light.

His transformation was now completed.

"This time, it will be different."

He said as he glanced at his tail which had grown back after Alex had cut it off.

He wasn't gonna let any wannabe heroes ruin his plan now.

If they tried to, they would die!
