Wind fluttered through the sandy shores of the beach, making Unohana's haori dance wildly.

"Raaghhh" Garona roared as she charged at Unohana with great speed. In just a second, she reached Unohana and sent a powerful right hook.

To which Unohana easily parried using her palms. Garona responded with a swift uppercut with her left hand.

Unohana tilted her head and used her palms to push Garona away. In the same moment, Lucy was at her side wielding a bone sword, Lucy thrusted the sword, making a piercing motion.

Unohana evaded to her side, forcing her to move towards the water. However she didn't get wet and only stood atop the water using her reiatsu.

A pair of thin green arms suddenly came out of the water, straight towards the bells tied on Unohana's waist.

With just a simple swipe of her hand, Unohana brushed Gob's hands away.

"We failed again" Lucy said a little depressed

"Nice try, you've been improving Lucy" Unohana said with a smile as she jumped back towards the beach, facing Lucy.

"Tch, you're too strong we can't even do anything even after a month" Lucy said with a fake pout

"That's right, you're a powerful warrior, even back home there are few that could match you" Garona said with a gruff voice.

Meanwhile Gob was still in the water, already playing as he already did his job and the training was over.

Lucy chuckled and spoke "We should go, before we lose anymore daylight"

A few days later, Lucy and the gang was walking along the shore, Lucy spotted a weird scene in front of them.

A few hundred meters away, there was a group of shoddily dressed people running towards the, and they seemed to be shouting something.

"I believe they're shouting at us to run" Unohana quickly spoke as she had the strongest senses when it came to the four of them.

"Any idea why?" Lucy asked

"Probably because more of those what you call deviants are heading here"

This made Lucy feel a myriad of emotions, he was after all almost mauled to death by one. But there was also excitement... Excitement at fighting such a beast and prevailing.

"How many?"

"Just three"

Lucy nodded and asked Unohana to kill two of them. While Lucy yearned for excitement, it should be a manageable one.

"Let's start with one, and increase once we can handle it"

This conversation only took a few seconds, and the people up front were already only a hundred meters away.

"Wow, they're running faster than Olympic runners" Lucy chuckled, funny what adrenaline can do

"Yeah, you must be having nostalgia right now" Unohana said with a gentle smile.

Lucy simply blinked and looked Unohana... Did she just... Take a dig at me?

Before Lucy could process Unohana joking around with him, Unohana had already used flash step, arriving in front of the deviants.

This surprised the running group of people as a weirdly dressed person suddenly appeared in front of them. They were afraid of what just happened, but evidently they were more afraid of the monsters behind them, so they continued to run anyway and could only say a few words.

"Run! Monsters are coming"

Unohana stood firm which baffled the people but they could only continue running, their life was more important after all

Looking at the deviant, it resembles a large, lizard, moving on all fours with a sleek and sinuous body. It has tough, armored scales in shades of dark green and black, providing protection and a menacing look.

It's face featuring a long snout filled with sharp teeth and glowing red reptilian eyes.

"Hadō #4 Byakurai" Unohana uttered a few words while she aim her pointer finger at one of the deviants.

A bolt of lightning surges through the air heading towards the deviant with astonishing speed.

Before it could even react, it was already burnt to a crisp on the ground.

"Hadō #4 Byakurai" Another surge of lightning hit one of the deviants burning it to the crisp.

Unohana looked at the remaining deviant and uttered a few more words

"Bakudō #9 Geki"

Red light suddenly covers the deviant's body, immobilizing the deviant and causing it to crash to the ground.

While this was happening, Lucy was running with Garona and Gob who were covered with cloaks when they bumped into the group of people they saw earlier.

But this time, they weren't running they were staring at the scene of Unohana easily taking down the monsters.

"Is she a god?"

"She has answered our call for help, thank the gods"

They were talking in an excited manner as they suddenly kneeled towards Unohana's direction while they proclaim their faith.

"What the hell?" Lucy could only mentally face palm, right it's still the ancient times. If something unexplainable happens a god did it.

A flood suddenly hit the world? gods

A plague hit? gods

The monsters you were running from suddenly died? gods

Your wife got pregnant when you weren't intimate for months? gods

Looking at Unohana, Lucy thought they weren't necessary wrong. She was technically a death god.

Lucy shook those thoughts out of his head and just passed the stunned wannabe worshippers, heading straight to where Unohana was standing.

Lucy looked at the lizard like deviants in front of him which was glowing in red light, seemingly immobilized.

"What did you use to stop it's movements? And how'd you barbecue those" Lucy asked curiously

"Kido" Unohana answered

"Right, that's obvious"

"What a beast!" Garona's voice came from behind Lucy and Unohana with a hint of excitement in it.

Gob meanwhile was poking the deviant while holding a piece of burnt... Meat? Gob was already biting it when Lucy hurriedly shouted.

"Gob! Spit it out"

Gob only tilted his head while the meat was still dangling from his mouth.

"The meat, who knows what alien parasites and diseases are in there" Gob still couldn't understand but still spit out the meat with a dispirited expression.

Gob went back to poking the deviant.

Lucy sighed, when he had a suddent thought.

"I wonder what it tastes like..." Lucy kept glancing at the barbec- ehem burnt deviant but eventually controlled himself. Not minding that just a few moments ago he was scolding Gob for doing the same thing he just thought of.

"Gob, go the side with Unohana. And Garona, get your axe ready we're gonna fight this thing"

Garona's eyes out up with excitement as her warrior spirit was aching for a fight. She quickly grabbed the steel axe she was summoned with.

As for why she didn't use it in the bell training? Lucy thought it might get damaged so he told her to only use it for actual fights. Steel is after all a metal that would be extremely hard to find in the current times.

Meanwhile Lucy took out his bone sword when he suddenly realized something...

"Bone... Sword... that's a little... Suggestive?"

Lucy and Garona stood a few meters away from the immobilized deviant. Lucy looked at Unohana and nodded.

The red light covering the deviants suddenly disappeared, causing it to roar, it's red eyes laden with anger and vengeance.

"Let's do this"
