Chapter 13
Mu Zihan looked around the house. His face showed an obvious admiring look as he inspected the house. He was shocked when he first entered the house because the house's interior was totally opposite from dilapidated building he saw earlier. Although the house was small and only has one room but the interior design was filled with modern contemporary touch. On top of that, he was quite satisfied with the security system installed in this house.
" You did all this?" He asked as he walked back to Ai Lin's side.
" No, I don't have talent in this kind of thing. My friend did this for me." Ai Lin was telling the truth. After the cold war with Lu Qi Feng, finally he relented to her decision but he also had his own arrangement. He sketched a plan drawing and asked someone to renovate her house and install all the security system. Ai Lin also agreed with his arrangement because she knew it was too dangerous for her to live in that kind of environment. Moreover, Lu Qi Feng used his own money and Ai Lin didn't have to spend a penny for the renovation. So of course she's okay with it.
" It seems you have a good relationship with your friend. You guys must be so close."
" Enn, we're very close. We'd known each other since I was 15 and he was my senior at school. He's a very nice person and everyone like him. He always there for me when I need him and he never look down on me like everyone did. I also like his family. Although they are rich but they've always been kind to me. They helped me a lot with my school's fees because I was unable to afford it. Because his family never stop him from befriending me, we're still a close buddies till now. He will usually spend his free time here with me or I'll go to his house if he is too busy with work." A gentle smile was plastered on Ai Lin's face as she was reminisced her memory with Lu Qi Feng and his family. She really owed them a lot but they never accepted it when she tried to pay back her debts. It was really difficult to find kind hearted people like them nowadays and she was lucky to meet them.
At the side, Mu Zihan was having a bitter face. He narrowed his cold and dark eyes as he kept listening to Ai Lin. A dangerous aura slowly filled in the room and temperature there started to drop little by little. Secretary Lu and the driver who used with that aura started shivering and prayed for their life.
" Your friend is not a girl?" Mu Zihan asked with his deep and low tone voice. He tried to suppress down his jealousy although he knew he would go crazy if she say it's a man.
" No, I don't have a girl best friend." Ai Lin who's still unaware of Mu Zihan's jealousy answered innocently.
" Don't see him again!" With a distort look, Mu Zihan said in a firm and strict voice. All his admiring of his work earlier vanished in instant. Sudden hate of Ai Lin's friend began to develop in his heart.
Ai Lin lifted her head and threw a weird glance at Mu Zihan who was standing by her side. " Why?"
" I don't like him!" Without hiding anything, Mu Zihan stated his true feelings. He pouted as he was dissatisfied at Ai Lin who questioned him. Although he was not a woman and would never understand women's way of thinking, but he was not stupid to decipher Ai Lin's twinkling eyes as she was talked about that friend of hers.
Ai Lin laughed out loud upon hearing Mu Zihan's reason.
" What are you talking about? You don't even meet him yet. Didn't you say you have work to do? You better go now or else you won't be able to finish early." Ai Lin tried to change the topic because she knew it would be a pain in the ass if they kept talking about it. Although she knew about Mu Zihan's eccentric behavior but she didn't want to face it now.
" Did you just chased me out?" Mu Zihan asked unbelievably with widen eyes. He stared at Ai Lin with a wrongful look. A wave of discomfort started to fill his fragile heart.
" I don't!"
" Humphhh, I won't go. I'll accompany you here and escort you home or else who'll know if you meet him behind my back?" Mu Zihan sat on the sofa sulkily. He crossed his arms as he determined to accompany Ai Lin until she's done with her business.
Upon listening to that, Secretary Lu went stiffed. Master, please don't do that. Who will do your pile of work at office?
Secretly, he paid a pleading glance at Ai Lin. He was well aware only Ai Lin was capable to persuade Mu Zihan right now.
Ai Lin who received the pleading glance sighed inwardly. Was he the secretary or she was the secretary? Why it must be her who need to remind him of his work? Erghhh!
However she yielded to it. She realized he had abandoned his work for her sake for weeks and she didn't want to let him being that way anymore. She could only sighed at his childish attitude. Slowly she moved from the wheelchair and sat beside Mu Zihan and reached out her slender hand and hugged his hand. She placed her chin on his arm and stared at that adorable sulking face.
" Why are you behaving like this? I've never have any intention to chase you out of here. It's just I think of your work. Didn't you said you have important documents to settle today and you even promised to accompany me once you settle with your work. But if you keep delaying your work when will it be done and when will you have time accompanying me without worrying about your work?" Ai Lin used her gentlest tone to persuade him. She really never intended to chase him out of her house and didn't want him to misunderstood her intention. Even though she could guess Mu Zihan was a wealthy man and not desperate for money like her, but without his work where could he get all those wealth. She certainly didn't want to be a reason Mu Zihan being fired by his employer.
The chill and cold atmosphere that filled the house slowly dissipated once Mu Zihan heard Ai Lin reasoning. His lips curled up and his dangerous gaze turned to a dote gaze. He stared down at Ai Lin who was still nestling in his arms and patted her head. So that was it. She never intended to chase him and only worried about him. Just as expected from his woman.
