Disappointed

In the meeting room which was a room with a large round table, Cyrus stood behind his throne like chair while all the warriors present were seated all with solemn expressions on their faces.

"The kingdom is silent, no sign of the dragons from Fireria." One of the warrior, Samuel who was the oldest among them informed coolly.

"Telling me this only proves that you are useless," Cyrus told him coldly.

Samuel immediately lowered his head in shame and Cyrus said, "There are spies all over Anitca, fire dragons that are loyal to Anitca are now betrayals and are working with those who wants to hurt me."

Murmurs immediately filled the room and Cyrus scoffed in annoyance. "Do not make noise, you fools do not know how to act clueless." He took his seat and all of the warriors stood up except four warriors who wore stern expressions.

The warriors sprang to their feet, each one drawing their sword from its sheath, and pointing it at Cyrus, who kept a cool but menacing demeanour.

"What is this? Put down your weapons!" One of the warriors seated, Samuel, yelled at the other warriors who were aiming their swords towards Cyrus.

"We cannot continue to allow this creature to rule over us!" One of the warriors yelled.

"Cowards," Cyrus hissed and clicked his tongue.

They hurled themselves towards Cyrus one by one, and he blasted them with dazzling blue ice sparkles that appeared on his fingertips. As soon as the ice touched them, they transformed into ice sculptures. When the others continued to attack, he stood up and shot them with full-force freezing, turning them into nothing but shattered ice sculptures with no signs of blood.

The last four warriors turned to face him, bowing their heads and all gasping in unison.

"General Samuel, I am proud of you." Cyrus said sounding amused and they all raised their heads.

Samuel smiled brightly. "I am honored to serve you my king," He said gratefully.

The other guards who were as young as Cyrus all said, "Honored to serve you my king,"

They were warriors that were close to Cyrus and spies for the Firerian dragons, as Cyrus was aware of. Samuel, who had talked to him in confidence about the traitors a few days prior, was one of the few remaining faithful fighters for whom he was grateful. Even though the Firerian dragons had indoctrinated the majority of them into killing him, there were still many who remained devoted to him.

"Good," Cyrus said with a sighed and closed his eyes allowing a bright ice blue glow to engulf him.

The warriors stared in shock as it was something they weren't used to seeing.

The glow around Cyrus vanished and his hair was back to their pure white color, his eyes in their ice blue form.

Their king was indeed a beauty.

He sat down and they did also.

"Your Majesty, you are obviously in danger and we are sure you have known this for a while," One of the warriors, Roger said nervously.

"Yes, we are all confused why you suddenly got married. This means that your wife is also in great danger and she can be a target to get to you." Samuel said worriedly.

Cyrus sighed deeply. "I advise you all not to get involved in my personal matter. Go to the border, Arthur and Victor will take care of anything related to me right here." He told them and stood up.

"Yes," They all said and stood up. "Your Majesty," They added, bowed their heads and Cyrus walked away, out of the meeting room.

...

At the time Cyrus went back to his room, it was nighttime.

While Sage was dozing off on the bed next to Snowflake, who had returned to his usual white colour, his panthers were still out on their hunt.

Cyrus fixed his sight on the woman with red hair who was dozing off on his bed.

She appeared innocent, and she was, but she was largely bothersome.

Approaching the bed and leaning in close to her, he suddenly heard a loud rumbling coming from her stomach.

"Annoying," He tsked and walked out of the room all the way to the kitchen to meet Ava and Amelia arguing with the head chef.

Seeing their king, they paused their argument and bowed their heads at him. "Y..your majesty,"

"Did she eat today?" Cyrus asked Ava.

"No sire, she said as she wasn't hungry." Ava replied.

"But you took care of her before she went to sleep and you didn't bother to give her dinner." Cyrus said sounding angry but his expression cold.

"I.. I am sorry sire," Ava apologized fearfully.

"Bring me her food." Cyrus said impatiently.

Ava's eyes widened in shock. Amelia and Chef Owen gasped in unison earning a hard glare from Cyrus.

Owen laughed nervously, disappeared into the kitchen and came back with a tray of delicacies giving it to Ava.

"Give me that," Cyrus scoffed and collected the tray of food from Ava.

Ava, Amelia and Owen had their jaws dropped as Cyrus disappeared from their sight.

"I thought you said they are not in good terms?" Amelia asked Ava with a hushed tone.

"Yes." Ava replied nodding slowly.

Cyrus arrived back at the room to see the bed empty.

"Not again," He growled in frustration, placed the tray of food on a small table beside the bed and walked to the balcony to see Sage standing on the railing with snowflake on her head.

"Sleep suicide," Cyrus scoffed, pulled Sage down and carried her into his arms while snowflake jumped to the ground.

Cyrus placed her back on the bed and with her eyes closed, she sat herself and held Cyrus's hair.

"Stop that!" He slapped her hand away and she winced in pain making him realize that he slapped her injury on her palm.

Not caring about her pain, he took the tray of food and placed it on bed.

"Eat." He said.

Sage who was still sleeping pulled his hair once again only for him to slap her injury harder earning a whimper of pain from her.

"Such a child," He said with a frown.

She sat still, rubbing her injury while he stared at her in disbelief.

"Why do you keep sleep walking to death?" He asked curiously, scooped and spoon full of food and placed the spoon on her lips.

"Open up," He commanded and she parted her lips allowing the spoon to enter her mouth.

The side of his lips pulled up and he took his time to feed Sage all of the food then made her sleep comfortably.

"Watch her," He groaned at snowflake who was seated on the ground staring at him.

He glared at the nine tailed fox. "Acting so nice to her, I am disappointed." He muttered shaking his head in disappointment.

Cyrus walked towards the balcony, stood on the railing allowing the cold wind to engulf him.

"I am disappointed in myself too," He whispered to himself narrowing his eyes at the eerie, cold forest ahead.
