Chapter Five - Job Opportunity’s

Sunday

Carson offering to walk me back to my office was a kind gesture but there was no need, so I politely refused. Walking into the elevator with my fellow colleagues Amanda and Caroline we chatted away about the new plan for Manhattan that the company told us about. "I like the idea, Manhattan has a lot of company's based there already and it's always busy with tourists and the people that live there." Caroline spoke her thoughts.

"Yeah it could be good business for us." I stated and they both agreed. Saying my goodbyes as I reached my floor I walked out to see Simons office empty, his office was right across the hall from mine and I could always see him eating lunch in his office alone, but today it he wasn't in there.

"How's your lunch with the Hunky Hubby?" Veronica appeared by my side wiggling her eyebrows. "It went fine, we got Brian's."

"Your kidding! You convinced him to bring you to your favorite cafe?" Veronica was shocked by this as she kind of knew how Carson treated me. "Of course." I smirked unlocking my door to my office and stepping in. "I want all the details on what happened." Veronica voices and the door closed.

Sitting in my office chair I kicked my feet up on the desk and smiled. "He's actually not as bad as I thought." I giggled like a school girl.

"You married a Valdez, those men are not easy at first." Veronica rolled her eyes as she fell into my office couch.

A sharp knock on my door and I watched Veronica shoot from her seat to her feet. "Come in." I yelled sitting up straight in my chair and watched as the door opened and in walked the Owner of the company, Mr. Trey Cohen. A long time friend of Carson's.

"Sunday I'll call if anything comes through." Veronica smiled and I nodded, watching her leave and shut the door. "Mr. Cohen, how can I help?" I asked pointing to a chair for him to sit. "Please Sunday, I told you to call me Trey, we are practically family now." He said and I nodded. "Okay, Trey."

"I want to get your thoughts on the Company expanding to New York." He said as if he brainstormed a bright idea.

"I think it's a brilliant idea, it gives people a chance to get to know more about us and what kind of company we are." I spoke and he nodded in agreement. "I have one offer."

"Which is?" I raised a brow slightly concerned.

"I want you to be co-owner for here, Brendon is moving to Manhattan in a couple weeks and I want someone I can trust, someone I know on a personal and professional level. You've been working for this company for six years, you know the ins and outs." He stayed and I was a little shocked he would ask me.

"I'll have a think about it, I'll talk to Carson tonight and see what he thinks." I said and Trey smiled. "Thank you Sunday." He said and I stood up giving him a hug. "I wouldn't want anyone else by my side."

With that he left and Veronica quickly ran it. "What did he want?" She asked smiling and I squealed. "He wants me to be co owner for here." I tried not to yell and she squealed also jumping up and down in excitement. "What did you tell him?" She asked once she stopped. "I said I'd have to think about it and talk it over with Carson."

Her face dropped.

"So you haven't decided? You have to take it Sunday, there is no better offer than being asked to co-owner a multi-millionaire company!" She rolled her eyes and I smiled widely. "I know but it's a big decision, a lot of thinking needs to go into it Ronnie."

"Fine, I won't force you to become Co-Owner of the biggest company in Washington." she winked and I giggled as I watched her strut her way out the door and sit back down at her desk.

The day went by pretty slowly, I tried my best to go through some emails from other company's trying to collaborate with us but I forwarded some of the good ones onto Trey's email so he could look at them and decide.

Checking my white and gold wrist watch I had custom made from the Valdez X Cohen collab, I yawned as I started packing up my personal belongings and placed my bag over my shoulder. Walking out I turned off my office lights and said my goodbyes to Veronica who was on the phone.

Stepping into the lift I leaned my back against the wall and pressed the underground car park. "Good evening Sunday." Simons voice boomed as I watched him enter the lift and press his floor. "Hello Simon." I yawned covering my mouth with my left hand revealing my wedding ring.

"He got you a rock I see." He spoke inspecting my ring and I turned the ring to my face to inspect it. No, his mom actually picked it out but I wouldn't tell Simon such a thing.

"He did indeed." I nodded smiling at the ring. "He seems like a great guy Sunday." Simon spoke giving me a tight smile before the lift stopped and opened the doors. "Goodnight Sunday." He said before shoving his hands in his trouser pockets and walking out towards the doors. "Goodnight." I said in a whisper watching the doors close.
