Chapter 37
She was a young girl who works in a club to make ends meets when Avan's father came to her and forced his way with her even though she explained to him that it is not part of her job to satisfy him sexually and after that, she became pregnant.
When her boss find out, she contact him and then he let her keep the child and take care of her till she moved into his house when Avan was three after his wife's death
He told her not to give birth to another child because he already has a son and made her remove her womb with a promise that her son will surely inherit all his wealth.
This promise keep her going and made her endure a lot but she's about to lose everything now
Avan's mother moved closer to her husband and slapped him hard across the face, everyone was shocked and looked at her like she is a different person.
Avan also opened his mouth in shock and couldn't react till they hear next word again
"I know all of your dirty secrets, if you try to take what belongs to my son, I will rip out your heart and send you off before your time" she threatened her stunned husband and turned to his secretary standing behind in wonder
"Get me the girl from earlier" she barked an order to him and he immediately leaves to carry out the order. He soon cones back with Clara who looks a bit skinny and weak
"What are you doing here?" Avan questioned giving her a deadly look and approached her angrily but his sister step in between them
"She came to me earlier today to tell me you have been dating for years now and she is pregnant so I decided to bring her to your mum but dad find out and keep her in his custody
"Is what she said true?" Avan's mother asked him pointing her finger to Clara but he didn't say anything, Clara saw that he is just standing there and walk up to him determined not to secure a place for her and her child.
"I know you are angry with me because of Laura but I can't just help but feel jealous about it. Laura find out about us and kicked me out of the company, she also boycott me and forced me out of the place you got for me" she paused to see if he believes her and sure enough his face softened
"I called you but you weren't picking my calls and the doctor told me to feed well and stay in a good environment with the father so our baby can grow well, I have no choice but to meet your sister" she finished explaining and left out a painful sound which made Avan hold her in his arms.
Clara smiled seeing that he is caring for her like before and held onto him
"It's my child" he finally told his mother and she nodded then called the maid to take her inside and take good care of her
"Let's talk again later" she said and left her speechless husband while Avan followed his mother.
His sister soon told her father she is also leaving and left with her husband
"Should I proceed with the changing everything or…?" The lawyer asked
"You can leave for now, I will come meet you in the office tomorrow" he answered and he bowed respectfully before leaving.
"Sir, three of them has agreed to meet with you tonight but the other three refused with random excuses"
"Three is enough, make preparations for a meeting place and call every of our person in the underworld to stop every trading till they hear from me directly and ensure Avan doesn't have an access to the company's account"
"Okay Sir, what about the mistress?"
"Just let her be" he answered and also went in to his study and his secretary left to get things done immediately.
Laura hasn't gone back home after her argument with Chris and stayed with Ella for those two days to help her take care of pumpkin and also spend time together.
She wait for Chris to call or look for her but he didn't and that made her so angry that she decide to spend more than the time she planned to spend with Ella but after just three days, she start to miss him greatly and see him in everyone around her
Laura waited till she is sure that Chris will be at home before leaving work and heading to the house, she practiced the words she is going to say to him one more time before going inside but is surprised to see that he is still not back from work.
Laura feels disappointed but still went into her room and changed into a round neck flowery green top with a short black skirt.
She made her way down to the kitchen and start to prepare a special delicacy for the both of them, she searched the internet for the recipe to prepare some fried rice with salad and turkey and get to work.
She served the food into a warmer dish and start to clean up the kitchen and put everything back in place when she felt a hand on her and Laura jolted shocked.
Chris wrapped his arms around her waist and place his head on her back which made Laura's heart flutter and she didn't move allowing him
"Why do you seems so tired?" She asked concerned and continue to clear the cabinets slowly
"I didn't know you will be back today, I would have returned early" he told her and rub his head on her body like a child
"Really? Who is it that didn't call me or check to see where I have been for three days straight?" Laura said not helping his words
"I know where you are and I check up on you everyday" he responded and raised his head up then he took the napkin from Laura and turned her to face him
"Are you home because you are no more angry or because you missed me a lot?"
"Why would I miss you, am home because I don't want you to miss me too much" she denied and removed the gloves from her hands
"Really? But I missed you a lot" he said disappointed feeling grumpy. Laura turn to look at his expression and finds it cute, she held his face and kissed him gently on his cheek
"I missed you a lot that I thought I was going crazy" she confessed and he smiled broadly then carried her and place her on the cabinet
"Are you sure you missed me that much? Doesn't sound true to me" he said excepting more from her and she did
"I thought of you every night and imagined that every guy was you" she added and he kissed her lightly
"Why are you so busy this days? I checked with your secretary and he didn't tell me"
"We signed with a whole lot of new companies this days and the schedule is quite tight.
