Chapter 36
Amanda decide to leave the office early to get her head on straight and left without taking any permission from Josh. She arrived home and was surprised to see her fiance waiting at the door for her.
Mike is a good looking young man and she has liked him for more than fifteen years now, he is not so rich but he has a well paying job and is also trying to get into the business world and build up his own company.
Amanda smiled and walk up to him happily, she walked into his opened arms and feels a bit relaxed then Mike plant a kiss on her lips before they both went in together.
She wanted to ask him why he is there at that time because he told her he was going for a business trip but decide not to, he is her fiance and can come to her house anytime
"Will you like some juice?" Amanda asked.
Mike doesn't take alcohol or drink strong wine unlike other guys and she also love that about him, he is a very responsible man
"Yes, but am not really thirsty" he answered and took off his suit then place it on another chair and sat down to watch some TV.
Amanda comes back with some drinks and biscuits which she placed in front of Mike
"Am coming, I need to get changed" she told him before entering into her room and closed the door after her.
Amanda took off her clothes in an haste and entered the bathroom to scrub off every mark and sign of Josh's touch on her body.
She scrubbed for sometime before running water through her body and came out.
She dried her hair, put on another clothes and came out of the room then went back to Mike who is busy munching on the snacks in front of him
"Will you like me to prepare something for you?" She asked him but Mike declined and wave to her to come over to him
Amanda sat down but Mike pull her to sit on him laps instead and start to kiss her but Amanda was felt nothing with the kiss.
He kissed her more but she was responding like a statue and couldn't bring herself to concentrate on their kiss.
This is the problem in their relationship, the excitement others feel doesn't happen to her. The both of them respect each other and love each other but she is not feeling excited to see him or miss him like she should.
Her mind went to her kiss with Josh earlier and she can still feel a wave of excitement from it, Mike noticed her absentmindedness and stopped
"What happened? Why do you seems lost?" He asked displeased and Amanda quickly apologized
"Am just tired from work" she lied and tried to initiate the kiss this time but Mike pull away
"Are you still not ready for me?" He asked bitterly and Amanda keep quiet not knowing what to say.
She is more than ready to give herself to him but her body isn't, she doesn't know how to explain that to him and could only lie that she is not.
"Our wedding is soon and you wouldn't let me touch you" he continued
"Am ready, am really ready this time" she told him firmly and held his hand and pull him up then lead him to her room but Mike came out of the room a few minutes later looking angry and annoyed while Amanda ran after him to stop him
"Look, am sorry I didn't mean.." she tried to find the right word but it didn't come.
"Am can't make love to you if you are not ready to accept me"
"You can, I mean we can" she told him relentlessly
"But it's like me trying to have sex with a stick or statue or something like that. You know what, I think we shouls do this some other time maybe after the wedding" he said and eventually left.

Avan left the office angrily after trying his possible best to contact some of his business partners but couldn't, he was getting impatient and frustrated when he got another call from another one of them who called to inform him that they wants to cancel their contract with his company and stop doing business with him.
He smash his phone against the car angrily and hit the carwheel angrily, he loosen his tie and stopped the car to avoid getting into an accident.
He took another phone from his pocket and tried to call his secretary but before he could he got a call from his dad and press the answer button
"Dad…"
"You bastard! What have you done?" he shouted over the phone that Avan has to move the phone away from his ears because of his screams
"How much more are you planning to ruin my company you dimwit!" He yelled again and command him to come back home immediately
Avan dropped the call and sighed heavily hitting the car again
"Who on Earth is targeting me to reveal all my secrets?" He thought but couldn't pinpoint his head to anyone
He start the car and turned to go back home which he arrived in about thirty minutes, on getting inside the house, his sister and her husband with his father's personal assistant and his mother are in the house and the scene looked tensed as his mother tried to plead and calm his father down offering him everything she could lay her hands on
"Dad, I will give you an explanation" he said immediately he stood in front of him but it seems like his voice triggered him more
"Explanation? Are you going to explain to me why the company I have used my whole life to build up is suddenly going down the drain? Explain" he said angrily and his mother tried to coax him again
"Am sure Avan doesn't want this also, he must be sad and worried too" his mother intercedes on his behalf but her husband shut her up and order her not to speak
"Mom.." Avan called and nods his head at her to keep silence, he moves closer to his father but still maintains a good distance from him and knelt down
"Dad, am sorry" he apologized
"Give me just a few days and I will settle all this problem" he requested but his father wasn't ready to do that and picked his phone to call his lawyer instead and told him to come over to the house
"How can you solve this in just a few days, I told you to keep it a secret that you are an illegitimate child but you managed to destroy everything with your own hands"
"Honey, what are you talking about?" His mother asked her eyes filled with worries, she had no idea the problem is because of his identity
"Your stupid son real identity has been revealed to everyone, I told him never to mention it to anyone"
"Dad, I did not" he is sure he never spoke of his birth to anyone except Clara and Laura and there is no way any of them will reveal that because they know what that means to him
"Tell that to yourself, once the lawyer gets here you hand over every of my property with you and leave the company"
"Dad, you can't run the company with your health condition I will handle this"
"I don't have to run the company myself I have a daughter who will" he told him and Avan's eyes turned red with anger and hatred.
Avan sister and her husband stare at her dad surprisingly, they were both shock to hear that he wants her to run the company because he never acknowledge her just because she is a female child
Avan's mother who has been quiet for a while suddenly stood up and stand in front of her husband
"You promised me!" She screamed at him and everyone is shocked to see her get angry, ever since she came in with Avan to live as a mistress she has never gotten angry or yell at Avan's dad
"I came up the tittle of your wife, I lived my whole life for you and served you and you promised you will make my son your heir"
"Then you should have trained your son better, just an ordinary girl I told him to get married to so it will help his status and bring our company higher, he couldn't and went ahead to get a nobody pregnant" he yelled back and soon the lawyer entered lead in by the security guard
"Never! I won't allow you throw my son away just because of this, he has tried to do everything you asked him to, even the dirty jobs and you never let your daughter do that.
You got her married to a man of her choice and forced my son to date someone he doesn't like now you want to take the only thing my son has in this family I will never allow it" Avan went over to his mom to stop her and held her, he hugged her and wipe the tears in her eyes but his father ignore them and start to instruct his lawyer instead while Avan's sister also tried to make him see reasons why he shouldn't do what he intends to
Although she is not her mother but she didn't treat her badly and respect her dead mother even though she made her father promise not to ever marry her she didn't protest.
"Dad, no matter what Avan has done I don't think the best thing is letting me handle the business, besides am working with my husband already"
"Then you can merge the two together, after all you are the only legitimate child I have"
"Only legitimate child?" Avan's mother exclaimed in disbelief at the way her husband is acting.
