Chapter 13
Everyone turned away from them after the show and start to talk about it while some gave a good comment that they look good together. Chris managed to get her off the podium and with the help of Clara and get her into his car then he informed her to send off the guest and handle every other thing
Laura keep murmuring some inaudible words as he drive them back to the house they will both be living now, Chris tried not to let his mind go back to the kiss earlier because he knows that it was just her drunken state that made her do that and tried to entrance till he got to the parking lot and parked the car then he came out, walked to the other side of the car to help her get out but she was fast and got out of the car before he could stop her then matched inside the house yelling some name he doesn't know but at least its not Avan's
He followed her slowly and helped her to open the door then lead her in the living room and made her sit down
"wait here, I will get you some water" he told her and went to get some honey water in the kitchen. On getting back she was no more sitting where he left her, he heard her voice upstairs and followed it while calling her name as he went
"Laura, your room is down here, where are you heading to?" he asked as he caught up with her and held her hand to stop her from going further
She turned to him and start to move her hand on this while placing the other hand on his chest
"Today is our first night remember" she said
Chris released her hand shocked and amazed at the same time with her outburst but quickly gain his composure. If she is always this open-minded while drunk then he should never allow her drink again
"Am sure you will say a lot of sorry tomorrow for this so just behave yourself to avoid more apology" he told her then pull her along with him downstairs
Laura refused and keep insisting on sharing their first night together which Chris wasn't finding funny anymore
"are you really sure you want to spend the first night together?" he asked as he pocketed his two hands at look at her sternly. Laura innocently nod her head yes profusely
"okay then" he agreed and she hugged him happily, Chris pull away from the hug and carried her straight to his room closing the door behind then he gently placed her on the bed and joined her
He touched her hair slowly as his heart beat faster and he move his hand briefly on her mouth before slowly kissing her, a moan escaped from Laura which caused a sensation in Chris as he deepened their kiss and start to unzip her clothes as gently as he can.
Laura closed her eyes deeply trying to meet up with his movement and held his back tightly, she couldn't think straight and just wanted whatever was happening to continue but she was feeling very sleepy and tried to keep her eyes opened
After removing her top, Chris continued to her neck and she also start to unbutton his shirt but couldn't keep her eyes opened anymore
"am tired" she whispered to his earlobe then gave in to sleep leaving Chris to deal with his emotions
Chris stopped kissing her and checked to see that she really fell asleep, he remained in that position for about a minute before standing up then entered the shower to take a bath
He was pissed off but even more angry at himself for getting carried away by her. He finished watching the scent of their intimacy just now and came out putting on his pyjamas.
He saw her struggling to take off her clothes and looked away from her then picked a coverlet to sleep elsewhere. If he tried to get closer to her again, he might really go all the way without minding the fact that she is sleeping
He went to the living room to sleep as other rooms in the house has no bedding and took a sleeping pill to stop himself from thinking about anything as he close his eyes and slept off…
…Laura opened her eyes feeling a big bang in her head, she tried to remember what happened after she talked with Chris mother and Mira but couldn't and stood up from the bed to quickly freshen up and relieve the aches she is feeling all over her body.
She pull of her clothes and entered the shower, as she was scrubbing her neck she noticed some marks and rub it trying to figure out how it got there when she remembered a scene of her kissing Chris
"what!" she exclaimed shocked finding it hard to believe the memory is really hers
"what did I do yesterday?" she asked herself trying harder to remember everything but couldn't put the pieces together so she finished bathing and came out with a towel around her.
As she stepped out, she remembered another scene of her being carried by Chris and screamed as the other memories of last night came rushing in then she also remembered that the room belongs to Chris and that's why she had find the designs and towel strange.
She looked down at the towel around her realizing that its belongs to Chris and almost took it off
"you have gone mad Laura totally crazy" she said as she hit her head.
She moved to the door and locked it in-case he wants to come back to the room and then looked around the room for any clothes she can wear apart from the one she wore last night and found a long shirt put it on then packed her clothes and immediately escaped out of the room.
She hurried downstairs and came to her own room then gently opened the door, went in and lock the door quickly. She heave a sigh of relieve then find some clothes from her wardrobe to change into, that was when she realized something
"so…he left the room after sleeping together? Then where did he sleep overnight?" she thought and came out of the room again in search for him
Going back upstairs will be useless because she clearly remembered he told her that mo other room in the house is furnished so he is probably in the living room, she walked towards the living-room and sure enough he was there still sleeping.
Laura move closer to him and sat down on the same chair he's sleeping on, she wanted to wake him up and question him but seeing how sound asleep he looks she decide against that and just continue to stare at him.
She reflect back on what happened between them last night and smiled to herself, Although it was not a kiss out of love but she enjoyed it and it was different from the ones with Avan. She place her hand on his face and touched his dry lips caressing them gently but her attention caused Chris to wake up without her realizing it
"what are you doing?" he asked with his eyes still closed and Laura shifted back in shock removing her hand from his face instantly
"what was that on my face?" he asked her again with his eyes wide opened this time
"what do you think, of course its a mosquito and I was helping you get rid of it" she answering stuttering
"really?" he sit up not believing her
"why are you still sleeping by this time? Its late already" she said to change the topic and stood up to leave but stopped when as she reminded about something and turned to face him again
"About us sleeping together last night…" she started excepting him to say something but instead he came her this puzzled look
"what are you trying to say?" he asked like he doesn't understand her
"I meant the fact that we slept together will not affect us right?"
"There is no us an also, we didn't sleep together" he replied
"we did not! Why? How come?" she exclaimed in disbelieve which caused Chris to stare at her in confusion
"i don't mean it that way" she said to quickly redeem herself
"Are you desperate to give yourself to him?" the both of them heard a voice that belongs to Mira say behind them.
Mira walk up to them with Chris mother following behind her and stopped in front of Laura
"My Chris doesn't just sleep around with any girl, he is not loose like you" she continued and Chris stood up to stop her
"Mira, mind your language" he cautioned
"but its true, if not why will she be unhappy that nothing happened between you, am sure that was her plan from the beginning. To look for a way to tie you down to herself" she said accusingly
"Mira, I told you to stop it, also why are you here in the morning?" Chris asked and walk over to her
"To protect you and stop her from carrying out her evil plans" she answered and went to sit down
"With permission from mum, I will be staying here in this house with you till the end of this marriage" she added arrogantly and stare-diggers at Laura.
Chris turned to face his mother questioning, angry that she told Mira everything. He was forced to tell her that its just a contract marriage and it will be over in five months to make her accept but didn't except that she will tell Mira all about it
"I will go back to prepare for work" Laura said to excuse herself from there and went back to her room, She entered and closed the door gently.
