Chapter 37. Will I get paid?.......

By the time Daniel was done with his conference, it was already 10 p.m. The entire building was empty except for the last floor , in which he had his office along with his secretaries.

Daniel quickly left his office for home. He got down through his personal elevator and got into his car and left for home.

By the time he reached home it was already 11 p.m. Every body had already had their dinner and retired to their rooms. Daniel made his way to his room in the second floor. When he reached there, he saw Isla was not asleep yet. She was sitting at her side of the bed and reading some book.

"When did you come?" she asked in her sweet voice.

Daniel couldn't resist his smile to appear on his lips. "Just now. Have you had your dinner?" He asked her in a very caring tone.

"Yes, i had. You go and fresh up. I will bring your dinner upstairs." Isla said and got up to leave.

"Okk. Don't bring too much. I don't have much appetite." Said Daniel as he made his way to the inner room.

Isla went to the kitchen and heated the dinner for him. After it was heated, she carefully placed everything that was prepared in small amount for him in different bowls and plates and placed them in tray. By then a maid came and she offered her help to carry the tray to room. Isla agreed.

When Isla reached the room Daniel was still in the bathroom. She asked the maid to leave the tray in the coffee table. The maid left the room and closed the door behind her back.

As soon as the maid left the room, Daniel came out of the shower. The mist and vapours were still lingering around him. A bathrobe was loosely tide around his waist and he was casually tussling his hair with fingers. Half of his muscular chest was in view. He looked like the real incarnation of devil himself.

Isla was totally smitten by him. She was staring him with her eyes wide open and mouth drooling. How could god be so biased to him. He had such good features that any woman would happily jump to his bed.

Suddenly, Isla realised how sinful her thoughts had become. She quickly averted her gaze and started looking around the room frantically. She really wanted to run away. She didn't know what was happening to her. It was as if some kind of black hole was sucking her towards itself. She was scared. She was scared to loose herself. She didn't know what was happening to her heart. It was beating too fast and felt like, it would leap out of her chest.

Daniel saw her reaction. He didn't know what to do with this little lamb. She was so amusing to him that he just wanted to sit in front of her and observe her for his entire life.

"Like what you saw, baby?" He asked with a playful smirk on his lips.

Isla was embarrassed that she was caught staring at him. She quickly changed the topic by asking ," I have kept your dinner. Come quickly and have it while it is hot."

Daniel just gave a small laugh and sat on the sofa beside the table and started to have his dinner. "What did you do your entire day?" He asked to start a conversation.

"Nothing in perticular. I accompanied mother to direct the lunch preparation as well as dinner. I also helped grandmother in the garden." She said without any enthusiasm.

Daniel knew that she was not happy sitting at home and doing nothing as he knew how career oriented she was. He knew his wife was the topper of her college and had a dream to earn. He knew his wife was eager to work in his corporation. But leaving her alone there was not a good idea, he thought. He wanted to protect her. He wanted to keep her by his side. But he also wanted her to be happy.

Suddenly he had an idea. "Accompany me to office from tomorrow onwards. Be by my side and help me to review the finance data. Recently it had been very hectic for me to do all by myself." He said as if he was really very busy to do all the work by himself. And wanted her help.

Isla frowned her brows suspiciously. He has got such a large and experienced secratary staff and he still wanted help from her who was inexperienced and just graduated from college. Why would he ask her to help him? Was it some another trap that he had set for her? She was deeply frowning in suspicion.

Daniel understood by her expressions that she was still suspecting him. He amusingly smiled at her expressions. His little lamb was so intelligent. He just wanted to devour her there and then. How could this young woman look so cute while frowning! He thought.

"Don't worry. I won't tire you up too much. It's just that I know that you are getting bored at home. So it is rather good for you to accompany me there. Will you?" He asked in anticipation.

Isla wanted to open his head and see what was going on inside it. If he was so concerned about her, why didn't he allow her to do the job? She was still frowning. But she didn't want this opportunity to slip from her hands. "Will I get paid?" she questioned.

"Bring my wallet." He said pointing at the side table drawer. Isla brought it to him.

He took out a black card and placed it in front of her.

"This is a limitless card. It's your's from now on. Keep it." He said looking at her face dottingly.

"I don't want this much. I was just asking for a pay that regular employees get in your company." she said while folding her hands in front of her chest and pouting.

"This is a very special position. You will be the direct subordinate of mine who would help the CEO of the Lee corps, that is me. How can I pay you any low then this? This is the special pay for you. Accept it." he said explaining himself.

Isla didn't know what to say. He had answer of everything. She reluctantly accepted it.

By this time Daniel had his dinner. After safely keeping the card in her purse, Isla took all the plates and left the room to keep them down.

When she reached the kitchen, she again saw the same maid, who helped her, still there. When she saw her, she was slightly shocked, but quickly composed herself. Isla kept the plates in the sink and the maid quickly started to clean them.

"Are you new here?" Isla asked sweetly. She never saw this maid previously.

"Yes madam. I joined today." she said hesitatingly.

"Ohh.. After you clean the plates, go and take rest." Isla said concerningly and left the kitchen.

The maid sighed in relief and turned to work again.
