Psychopath

Now that all the pleasantries were done, it was finally time to talk business.

Leno Viscos Quint — the head of the Quint Noble House sent his first son out of the room.

"I will see you around, Ms. Nulla." Lionel bowed once again and showed a dashing smile — one that would often make any woman blush. An unknown glint passed his eyes.

Nulla only nodded in response without much change in emotion.

Soon, his figure left through the door of the room.

However, Noah met his seemingly gentle blue eyes as he passed by him, a smile still stuck to his lips.

Noah remained unfazed and indifferent. He knew from the moment they met, from the moment their eyes connected, he was a man of lies.

Those gentle-looking eyes, his kind and well-mannered attitude — all those were just a facade. Noah was well familiar with the eyes of a psychopath and their pattern of behavior.

Noah had been observing him since the moment they met. Noah would often catch the man stealing glances at Nulla and her body, his eyes trying to conceal his savage intention but could not escape Noah's scrutiny.

And as he lead them to the Heads office, he would often tremble out of nowhere and his face would turn red.

His behaviour was very abnormal to say the least.

Even if it wasn't as severe as Noah was thinking, it was evident that there was something wrong with the man.

Ahhhhh~~

Behind the door Lionel covered his mouth, his cheeks red as a tomato. His blue eyes looked misty as if he was imagining something. His hands squirmed around his body as his legs closed up, subtle trembles sent throughout his body.

Blood dripped from his nose as saliva trickled down his lips.

I want touch those tender white hands....

Those pale and spotless ivory skin....

Ahhh~ those luscious lips....

That slender and sexy body hiding behind a layer of cloth.

Ahhh~ I-i want to slowly undress her, I want to reveal to her the pleasures this world has — the pleasures I can give.

That indifferent and cold face, I want to see them crumble to one of helplessness — I want to see her beneath my feet in full obedience.

I want her to surrender to me!

"Yo-young master?!" As Lionel imagined many things on his depraved mind, he was interrupted. He opened his eyes as his gentle blue eyes completely vanished replaced by a one of anger and irritation. His face crunched up and a vein popped on his neck.

His eyes landed on a maid — the girl who had just spoken out.

"A-are you okay?" She felt her heart beat fast, the young master wasn't acting like himself.

The young master, first son of the Quint House was often known as the kind and easy-going person. He helped those in need even commoners and did it with a big smile.

He was a very angelic person in the eyes of those outside and even inside the Quint House. Yet right now, he looked to be possessed.

"No, no. I'm okay, it's just I've been training very hard and it has taken a toll on my body." Lionel's face that showed anger and annoyance earlier melted into one of gentleness. His voice became soft and angelic — seemingly returning to who he was in the eyes of others.

Seeing this change, albeit a bit doubtful, the maid nodded and forced a smile.

"Would you mind helping me to my room. I'm a bit tired you see..." Lionel showed an expression of sincerity, his eyes returned to it's calm and sweet glow.

The maid was still a bit doubtful and couldn't open her lips to answer. What she saw earlier was truly something she couldn't forget, it was one of depravity.

"Did you not hear me?! I said to follow me in my room." Lionel's voice slowly turned sharp and commanding. His eyes shone making the maid flinch.

"Ye-yes." She could only obey.

He returned back his angelic and gentle expression once again, "Don't worry, I won't eat you."

Lionel licked his lips as they went towards his room.

Ahhhhh~ I guess you will do for now. I just hope you won't crumble just as easily as the others.

"Is Rowan well?" Leno, the head of the house asked.

The Rowan he was talking about was the father of Nulla — the head of the Venis House.

Nulla sighed, her brows furrowed.

"To be honest, no. His health is continuously deteriorating and he can't even wake up now, he seems to have fallen into a coma. The remedies and treatment from the healers costs us over 30% of our wealth already and this will increase in the future if there is no cure found. Moreover we are facing pressure over the other nobles at the capital, the battle for power is harsh."

Distress and helplessness was present in Nulla's voice making her uncle, Leno, frown as well. He too sighed and with a heavy heart, replied.

"I wish I could help more, truly. But you understand the difficulty and responsibility of being a noble correct? If I help your house then I too will be caught up into the conflict, getting involved simply gives us no benefits and even then, the other members of our council will surely disagree. The other nobles will also keep an eye out for our house and maybe even create trouble for us if we help you in any open way."

"Moreover, I have an inkling that a noble house is targeting your house and instigating it's fall. I can't risk my House in that conflict." Leno said sincerely, his face showing pity and helplessness.

Nulla could only force a smile, "Really uncle, you have helped us enough. And for that we are grateful very much."

Nulla knew already the weight of her origin the moment she bore the surname 'Venis', from young it was engraved in her mind that as noble, she had no one to rely on but herself and her house.

Nobles were power-hungry people that would love to see other nobles fall and would even hasten the pace. Eliminating a noble house would reduce competition of power after all.
