Chapter 6

I wake up to two young ladies in the bed with me, one on each side. They arms wrapped around me. I'm a lucky guy. They look so beautiful sleeping peacefully. I truly feel blessed. Still, I have to get up. Lots to do today.

"Good morning ladies."

Iris is the first to respond. "Five more minutes?" she askes

Yuna is next. "Yes, five more minutes?"

"Ok." is all I could say. I go to kiss kiss Yuna on the forehead but at the last second she looks up and other lips meet. Her first kiss. I stole it by accident. Her face goes red in an instant. So does mine. About 10 seconds go by when I pull away.

"I'm sorry, Yuna. I didn't mean to kiss you on the lips. I swear."

She smiles at me and says, "I know but I enjoyed it. Michael, I love you."

"I love you too, Yuna but I don't know if your father is going to allow you to be with a human like me."

"I don't think it would matter if I'm with the hero."

Well, that is true. I am the hero after all. I look at Iris as she looks into my eyes.

"You set this up, didn't you?"

"I don't know what you mean...." she's looking away trying to look innocent. Girl, you guilty as hell. It's written all over your face.

"Thank you. I guess you want a reward?"

Before she could say anything, I kiss her lips. Another 10 seconds pass before I pull away. I say her smiling from ear to ear. Well, I now have two princesses in love with me. Life is grand.

"I got to get up because there's alot to do today. Iris, I need to meet with your brother and Yuna, we're going to the city after wards."

All three of us get out of bed and Iris leave to go back to her room. I let yuna wash up first as I get a smoke in. After I was done washing up. we all meet up in the hall to get some breakfast in the dining hall. William is at the table waiting.

"I see all three of you got a good night's rest." William said as he winked at Iris and she winked back.

"You too, William? You sneaky fuckers." I said, shaking my head.

"But it worked didn't it?"

"Yeah. I did."

"So then I can arrange you to marry my younger sister?"

"Yes. How ever, I want to talk to Yuna's father first before you announce anything, got it?"

"Then it's settled. When are you going to the Evergreen Kingdom?"

"A week from today. But the way, now that you're making me a duke, what territory will I be in charge of?"

"The Rommol Region which includes this city. To be honest. I've been running the kingdom and the city for the past year since the last duke, mine and Iris's uncle past away."

"Well, looks like I got my work cut out for me."

"I should warn you Michael, the city finances are a mess right now and I suspect someone embezzling money."

"Guess I'll have a talk with the accountant and look at the books. When's the ceremony to announce my title?"

"In a few days."

"That will be enough time to figure everything out. Iris, can you get the books from the orphanages and the guard station, if I was a betting man, that's where I would start. Meanwhile, I'm going to sneak into the guy who is charge of recording the city finances. William, when are the funds handed out next?

"In a couple of weeks."

"So I can take the books without him noticing. Looks like I got a plan. Yuna, you and me will be heading to the city for a date. Iris, tomorrow will be our date."

Hearing that, both girls jump out of their seats and run over to hug me. William laughed.

"By the way William, I plan on bringing the evidence to my title announcement. I'm going to have you be the judge by leave the sentencing to me."

"Why then?"

"So everyone else sees that I mean business. If the other nobles think they can take my kindness for weakness, then weakness will not show when they piss me off. And I have a feeling that some of the nobles might question you on giving my such a title so I need to show those fools that I'm more than worthy enough of the title."

"You bring up a valid point."

"Ok, William. See you in a couple of days."

Iris heads off to get the book of records from the orphanages and the guard station while me and Yuna head to town.
