Chapter 14

I see tow pieces of shit walk into the room that has me, Yuna, her father, Iris, Lydia, Kevin, and Troy sitting at a large table. I know one is Kain Evergreen so the other must be the Duke of Evergreen, Kain's father. Kain saw my and grit his teeth before seeing Yuna and an evil grin showed on his face, unaware on what happened earlier.

"AH, Your Highness. You're back. When are we getting mar-..."

He was unable to finish his sentence do to a barrel of my Glock was against his lips. His eyes went wide and sweat started to form.

"I suggest to not say anything else. I'm not happy with you since you was the one who sent assassins to my home."

Both the king and the Duke looked at Kain wide eyed.

"Is this true?" asked the king.

"Yes." Lydia spoke up, "I was one of the 6 assassins that was sent to Lord Barnes's home. % of us was killed and I was captured and decided to stick with Lord Barnes since he can protect me."

"Not only that but before he tried to force his way into my home to take Yuna I which I made his 2 followers faint and he pissed his pants before leaving failing his mission."

The king looked at the Duke with a glare and the with the same look went to Kain.

"You almost caused a war against the Hearth Kingdom. What do you have to say about your actions?" The King angrily towards Kain.

"I'm sorry." pleaded Kain.

"No excuses!" the King shouted.

"Who is this human, Your Majesty? the Duke asked.

"He is the new Duke of Rommol and a hero. He is also my future son-in-law!" the king excitedly said.

The Duke and Kain expressions were priceless. I took a picture on my phone, I chuckled. Yuna hugged my arm tight.

"Brother, I have overlooked a lot of my nephew's shenanigans in the past but this is where it stops, I want him in the dungeon for the next 2 days. GUARDS!"

The duke and Kain went pale. Elven guards show up and take Kain away. A smirk showed on my face. That means me and Lydia can search Kain's place to see if there's any evidence of his crimes without any worries. Still, I'll show some caution when I go there.

"So you're the new Duke of Rommol. I wonder why the Viscount of Rommol hasn't sent a letter about this?"

"Oh? so you were good friends with the viscount?"

"Yes! We have been friends for 3 years."

"Well, he was executed a few days ago for treason."

"WHAT! how did you know this?" The duke was in shock.

"Because I was the one who put a bullet thru his head after I stomped a mudhole in his ass and ran that some bitch dry. I found out that he did some heinous crimes ,"

I saw the fear in the duke's eyes. I wonder what he's hiding. I already planned on snooping around the duke's place but this made me want to do it quickly as I have a feeling that he would likely destroy any evidence.

"Brother, did you know anything of the viscount's crimes?" the king asked.

"No."

He's lying , No eye contact when he answered the question. I guess I'll have to take action sooner.

"Well, what's done is done. No use crying over spilt milk." I said.

"Well said." the king replied.

"I shall take my leave Your Majesty and it was nice to meet you, Lord....."

"Barnes. Michael Barnes."

"Lord Barnes. Yes. I'll see you later then."

"Don't let the door hit you in the ass!"

Everyone chuckled. As soon as I sensed that the duke was far enough away, I looked at the king.

"Your Majesty, I feel that your brother might be hiding something. I will investigate if you allow me to."

"I had a feeling that he was given his reaction of the viscount's death. You may investigate my brother but be careful."

"Always. By the way, where's Yuna's mother?"

The king looked down and Yuna had tears in her eyes. Iris hugged Yuna. I know what the news is.

"She passed away when Yuna was a month old. Very sudden and I was away at the hearth Kingdom when it happened. Truly a sad period in the Evergreen Kingdom."

"I'm sorry that I asked,"

I hug Yuna and told her that I was sorry. She looked up into my eyes and told me that it was ok. I gave her a soft kiss and she smiled. Yuna asked her father where our rooms were at and he told us to follow him so we did. We get to where the guest rooms are and we go into one.

"Ok. Yuna, you spend time with your father, Iris, stay with her. Kevin and Troy, guard Yuna and Iris. Lydia and myself have work to do."

Lydia and I went out into the elven city and got the information on where Kain lives so we head there. Lydia masks her presence and I use stealth. I sneak inside and search thru the mansion. Nice place but it gave me a creepy vibe. I sense 4 unknown people down in the basement. Lydia found the stairs that head down into the basement and head down. What we both saw shocked us to the bone. 4 elves, all females, chained to a wall. Faces bloodied and bruised. Bruises all over their bodies. Two of them showed signs of sexual assault. That sick mother fucker!. I'll fucking kill him! Lydia picked the locks on the shackles and I headed the them and told them to follow me back to the castle.

15 minutes later.....

Lydia and I got back to the castle with the 4 elven ladies and made it to the guest room. I get them clothes and a warm cup of tea. Lydia went to get the others. The 4 were clearly shakened but thankful to be out of Kain's torture room. Yuna walks in first and was overjoyed to see these 4 ladies. They were some of her closest friends. After a few minutes of hugs. I sit down in front of the women and asked them what happened. From what they told me, They were either kidnapped or drugged then they woke up down there 6 days ago. Kain tried to get information on where Yuna was heading when she run away from home. Yuna didn't tell anyone that she was going to run away. It seems Kain showing up was by chance when he teleported to the Hearth castle and one of the guards told he where Yuna was. When he got back from his failed attempt, he beat all 4 and raped only 2 of them.

"Ladies, rest assured, justice will be served. These knights will be here to protect you but you have to be strong. I may need you all to tell the king what happened. As for Kain, he's currently in the dungeon for trying to force his way into my home and for sending assassins to my home. He maybe in there for 2 days but for those to days, relax."

The ladies asked Yuna who I was and Yuna told them. Their eyes widened in shock and looked at me then Yuna. They got up and hugged Yuna and congratulated her on her engagement then came over to me and hugged me to thank and congratulate me and to take good care of Yuna.

We decided to eat in the guest room so the maids brought a lot of food and the king showed up with some elven beer to drink with me but when he saw the 4 elven ladies and I told him what happened, I decided not to drink any beers for today. He listened to the ladies story and was pissed at Kain but I told him not to loose his cool. I told him that I have a plan but I need to go to his brother's place.

By the time we ere done eating and talking. it was night. The king had the 4 ladies stay in the castle in one of the other guest rooms, of course the one closest you mine and then the knights went to their room. Lydia went to her own room across the hallway from the ladies. Yuna and Iris stayed in mine. All three of us take a show and went to bed to cuddle for a little bit and fell asleep.
