I trace my fingers across the thin skin of her collarbone. She closes her eyes, her cheeks are flushed and she bury her fingers in my warm hair. Telling me how much she likes this, likes me, loves me... "I have loved you for a very long time, Edmund", she whispers against my breath. "From even before that farewell. And that's why I insisted Charlie on taking me to the farewell so that I could meet you." Meeting her again was never a coincidence. Her words surprised me. "But I was at the farewell you know." "Yeah I got to know that but not before I met you the day of our introduction and I read your mind." I smile. I don't know why I smile but thinking about all these, how we met and how we fell for each other makes me smile. But it came out bit like a chuckle. She laughs. When she laughed I wanted her again. I love the sound of her laugh. I take both her hands on both of mine. "Pretty dramatic way of founding each other I see." "Surely". "Oh wait! I'm thinking I'll take that as my inspiration for my novel." "OH MY GOD! EDMUND." She laughs even louder this time. . . Cover credit: Author Hesreth

With this power, he chooses to strengthen himself to explore the vast mysteries and terror of the other world. What mysteries await him? What is The Dust World? Author's Synopsis: What the hell is this? What the hell happened here? How did my room become so ruined after a single night? The floor and table were covered in dust, his new poster of Zhang Liang Ying that had just been posted on the wall a few days ago had already become yellow and tattered all over. Even Zhang Liang Ying’s beautiful face became monstrous as if an old devil was looking at him with a terrifying smile. The walls were covered by a mist of cobwebs and the fruits placed on top of the coffee table were withered and rotted to the point that the mold on them had turned black. The fruits below even seemed to have turned into mush. The aluminium framed window that the landlord had just installed not that long ago was now covered in a layer of white ash and the glass was filled with cracks and covered in dust. The computer beside his bed was also covered by cobwebs and was accompanied by an empty water glass with a withered worm inside of it. Dust filled the air making Wei Xiao Bei choke as he tried to breathe. Everything seemed to be ash gray without any light as if looking at television static. After just one night, it seemed like everything in the room had aged for centuries or even millennia. Mother… is this a dream? This must be a dream!

Lost in the Vampire Kingdom 2

Excerpt The trees roar, responding to nature after a heavy rainfall. Sounds of leaves crashing with each other were heard accompanied by a footstep running and panting. “Please let me go, I swear I didn't do anything.” She pleaded with tears rolling down her face, her hair in a tangled mess, and her voice cracked from wandering around in the forest as she was held captive. Looking at the able-bodied men surrounding her, chills ran down her spine as one of the men leaned closer to her face and pulled her hair. Dragging her along with him. “I am not moved by your tears… don't think you will fool me with those.” He gave out a menacing laughter throwing her on the ground causing her to sustain more injuries on her face. She was already shivering, and looking at the huddle men, none of them seemed to help, rather they laughed along, taking turns torturing her. They either dragged her by the hair or they kick her on any part of her body, and she winces on the floor. Her heart bleeds in pain and uncontrollably, tears streaming freely down her cheeks. There is nothing she can do, even if there will be a miracle, maybe she will be dead before it happens. She clutched on her clothes with her knees folded up in fear and panic, she wanted to run away, but she knows her strength and capabilities were not a match to the men. She low her head, muttering inaudibly to her creator for him to touch their minds so that they can pity and release her. But as she looked up, it seemed her prayers were futile as one of the men advanced towards her wearing only his pants. “No! No! No.” Her heart skipped a beat as she closed her eyes. “God, please, I rather die than let them have me.” “Come over here you bitch” The man yelled out to her and heavy laughter echoed in the forest. The men were having a fun evening at the expense of her comfort. She trembled, pushing backward as much as her strength can carry her. “It seems the bitch is acting stubborn.” One of the men with a husky muscle said, and the men again gave out hullabaloo laughter. She screamed as they dragged her along, the men walking around her like they found some evening meat. “Let me go please, let me go please.” She pleaded, kicking with every ounce of strength in her, but it seemed she was beating the air as they dropped her on the floor, held her two hands backward and parted her legs. “NOooooooooooooooooooo.” She screamed. Shameless author here. This novel has a mixture of slow and fast pace, depending on whether or not I focused more on character and world development or on plot progression. Some chapters include names of piano pieces that are best suited to listen to while reading to enhance the experience. There will be a lot of plot twists and sad scenes, so brace yourself. If you don't like any character in the beginning, fear not, they will grow throughout the chapters. I rate this novel one star, not because I think it's awful, it's quite decent, but just because I can.

This story is great, I like the pacing and the mystery. A more slow-paced, mystery with interesting characters. I like Lucian very much and his relationship with Elizabeth is cute. The way you go with the mystery, the exploration, the Victorian society feels is superb, which pass a well-done atmosphere of that time and age, the churches, and believers are also interesting, and the way Lucian goes around on his investigations and is careful about what he does, and it is good. Less of a modern novel feel and more like a Sherlock Holmes feeling if you catch my drift. Of course, the classic music adds another layer of immersion to the story. Well done, author. This novel is good, although the stability of updates right now is not that good. I will be waiting for more updates.

I believe the story has great potential for the direction it is going. Hopefully, the author doesn't lose way to reaching that point. besides that, I do love how the author recommends music to listen to when reading certain chapters that a nice touch and hope they keep on doing that from time to time.

I usually go all in with reviews, but I've had a little bit to drink. This novel is very similar to Lord of the Mysteries in terms of powers, setting and whatnot, but so what? I like it. And so will other LotM fans too. At the same time, the differences are also quite apparent. Unlike LotM, the protagonist, Lucian, is not as isolated as Klein- he has a more reliable support network, more human relations with his friends and family, so to speak. It might fill a void that LotM didn't manage to. LotM was very much a story of one man, while Lunar Ascension may prove to be more, where the final product is greater than the sum of its parts. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to enjoy my crushed up power stones.

This is a very good novel. the start is intriguing, the MC's emotions are displayed well. and he quickly managed to compose himself and accept his situation. the story kinda gives me x man vibes 😂 even though its's nothing related to it. the world building so far is good, and I'm enjoying how the good grammar and fight scenes.
