Dorm

Up and up and up, round and round and round, portrait after portrait after portrait, this, it's my experience of walking up to Ravenclaw house for the first time. We halt at... a dead end. That doesn't seem very smart, for the supposedly smart house. But there is a secret hidden in theses walls. A strangely feminine metallic voice echoes in the hall. <What is the answer to this riddle? What is the truth?> Our prefect swallows. "Well kids, what d'ya think? What is the truth?"

"A word with the letters t, r, u, and h," I find myself saying. <Yes.> and we are let in. Me and the rest of the first years gaze up in wonder around around the spectacular, beautiful common room. In the centre, a resplendent bronze statue of Rowena Ravenclaw herself stands proudly. Cosy settees are positioned carefully around the room and handsome pine desks are situated by every other window for students to do homework and studying at. The windows themselves are another matter. Tall, with bronze lattices in a small diamond pattern, they range around the room bedecked with star patterned curtain, accurate labelled constellations all over them. The ceiling is like this too, and also like the Great Hall ceiling from our Sorting, where the hat made the massive decision that would affect the rest of my wizarding life: to place me in Ravenclaw. It is an exact replica of space, perfectly categorised and in impeccable perspective. I'm in love instantly. I may hate this house and all it stands for, but I adore this room. Oh yeah, you may need some more info on hating Ravenclaw. Erm. I don't have it. Daddy just... always said Ravenclaw were bad. I didn't question it. It was like training a dog. Get it in when they're young.
