You Look Like Sickness
They soon got to where Megan was. She was seated in the trunk of Mabel's car, laughing and smiling at Jace and as soon as Mabel got to where she was, she got up gleefully and hugged Mabel.
Mabel's body stiffened at the hug but she immediately relaxed, well Megan had caught her off guard.
Megan released the hug and stared at Mabel's enchanting blue eyes which although were covered by the glasses still looked beautiful and attractive.
" I'm so grateful for what you did for me bestie, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't exactly be like this right now", Megan said smiling and Mabel smiled as well because Megan's smile was overly contagious.
She had been thinking about it. She couldn't say yesterday didn't worry her because it did. Megan never called to tell her how things went and she didn't have Wendy's number to confirm either, also she was too scared to call Megan as she couldn't tell what the girl's reaction would be like.
She had planned the surprise with Wendy and Megan's other relatives which were likely her grand dad and her dad but she didn't know if Megan would be willing to forgive Wendy. That seemed to be the only flaw in their plan, Megan's opinion.
None of them could tell if Megan would be angry by the set up or be willing to let her guard down for a while, turns out the latter won.
" Earth to Mabel", Megan called out snapping her fingers in front of Mabel to get her out of reverie. " What the hell are you thinking about?", Megan asked after seeing Mabel return from planet whatever.
" How happy you are... So how's your mom and you? Have you guys like patched things up totally?", Mabel asked for Megan to nod and release an heartwarming smile again. It was like the girl was full of it today.
" Well then am very happy for you", Mabel said for Megan to chuckle and scream. " I'm very happy for me too, infact I am skipping school today", Megan dropped the bomb to have the already gleeful Mabel frown.
The two girls were currently in their own world, they didn't even realize three abnormally handsome guys were staring at them confused at their girly smiles and giddy feelings.
Mabel finally took in Megan's appearance and without hesitation voiced out, " You look like sickness", Mabel said and Megan smiled not bothering about her comment.
" If it's pretty convincing for you, then it would be pretty convincing when I make a video call soon", Megan said again gleefully and Mabel shook her head totally confused, why was Megan looking all sick and what's with the excitement about having a video call?
" What's with the video call?", she asked for Megan to take in deep breaths before replying her. " I want to make a video call to Principal Williams that I am so sick and can't make it to school today", Megan said in one breath to have Mabel nod calmly.
" And why do you want to lie about being sick?", Mabel asked the most important thing for Megan to grin childishly.
" Mom said she would love to take me out and I said I also have somewhere of interest to show her so she was like, if I could find a good enough reason to get a leave from school, then she would put the plan in a go" , Megan said happily for Mabel to freak.
" Your mom is so cool although it's quite immature of her to convince you to leave school, it's also cool", Mabel voiced out and Megan couldn't help but smile sheepishly.
" So why are you in school? Aren't you supposed to be like making a video call?", Mabel asked noticing that Megan was actually in the school she wanted to lie to.
" Well that's where you come in, and be like..., Yes principal Williams, I saw Megan Pierce and her condition is what you call, she can't make it to school for many days", Megan said dramatically to have Mabel roll her eyes.
" You are annoying, you expect me to lie", Mabel said walking over to close her car trunk and checking for stuffs inside.
" It's not like it's the first time. You lied to me once as well", Megan voiced out. She was literally so desperate to get a witness and Mabel being her friend was the perfect one because now everyone literally knew who Mabel Cee was and so does the principal of course, he would believe if Mabel said it.
" I didn't lie to you, I lied to the entire school", Mabel said justifying herself but Megan was unwilling to give up, her baggy eyes and oversized pajamas made her look like a walking zombie.
" No you lied to me, remember, when you said your parents were having some sort of trouble and that's why we headed to Foodies place in the first place but all of a sudden, dark place, singing voice and stage light whoosh whoosh, you must remember that", Megan said smiling victoriously which Mabel and the guys who were trying their best to understand what was going on saw perfectly.
" No that's because I went to make a call", Mabel said again but Megan wasn't willing to let go, she really wanted to spend time with her mom and all she fucking needed was a word from Mabel, a freaking well thought out lie to principal Williams.
" And that call was also a lie hmm, hmm so you can't escape me now, please say yes", Megan said pouting to have Mabel grunt tiredly.
Holden smiled, she looked cute, this was the first time he saw her talk this long and he didn't understand why but he felt so good having to watch her show different kind of emotions.
But he didn't like how Megan kept pushing her into a tight spot, it was unacceptable in his dictionary.
" Ok fine I'll send in a word about a sick person", Mabel said sarcastically and Megan jumped with joy, quickly hugged Mabel, briefed her on what to do, got into her cute lexus jeep and drove away. It was like the girl was on steroids.
Mabel turned to see Aaron no longer in the group of boys. Jace was smiling at her though. " If you are looking for the overly cute british dude, he said I should tell you he left for class", Jace said to have Holden smirk. He saw when the guy was leaving but didn't stop him either.
The more the creep stayed away from Mabel, the more easier his life would be. For goodness sake, why was he obsessed with not letting Mabel go. He has to ask her out to figure out what's wrong.
