Lord Saga sat quietly as the servant locked the chain to his neck.

"Keeping your lips sealed and speaking is all on you" he said to her and she nodded.

"What's going on here?" Came queen Lela's voice making the servant tremble.

Lord Saga stood up looking at Lela.

"My queen" he bowed, "It wasn't necessary to keep me here, you're going against the king"

"You were wounded, I just wanted to help"

"Thank you, but I have to be in the cell before anyone finds out I left, the servant here helped me enough" he said

Queen Lela looked at the servant who's head was still bent.

"It's not the case, rumors has it that you manipulated Lady Gorra into taking the drink which you knew was poisoned"

"That's a lame story..."

"The king bought it, soon the palace will send news about the immediate need of servants"

Lord Saga raised a brow. "Why?"

"Tomorrow all the servants who made food on the day of Lady Gorra's poisoning will be put to death.....your servant Selina will be among them, it's not just the king's order. The council's order, they agreed to it"

"The council can't do that..."

"Lord Theodore gave a statement and made them believe it, everyone knows the story about your marriage with the Lady so his story was easily bought. She might not live pass today" she said

Lord Saga looked away. "Selina is innocent and can't die..."

"The only person that can save her now is the lady herself but she's not here, no one knows where she is unless you do...you can tell me and I'll try bringing her to you"

Lord Saga observed her. "You will do that?"

"I'll do anything for you Lord Saga" she said without hesitation and Lord Saga inhaled deeply.

"The council wants to hold a meeting to decide what happens to you, they say it's been a month since you gave Lady Gorra to a total stranger....rumors has it that your sentence might be death"

"Take me to the cell first" he insisted.

"Are you listening to me?, You can't go to the jail, you'll be killed by dawn"

"And what am I supposed to do?" He asked

Queen Lela inhaled deeply looking at him "Flee.."

"What?"

"There's nothing else you can do?, You will die.."

"Don't you know the law of Rororal?"

"I do but desperate times comes for desperate measures"

"I won't be a coward who flees" he said

"Will you then be the wiseman who dies?" She asked and he faced her

"I will wait" he answered and walked from her.

Queen Lela suppressed her anger, why did he always reject her help.

Lord Saga stood before the council, it was dawn already and the servants had been chained out waiting for the council to give their final word.

"I hope you know exactly why you're standing here?" Started one of the elderly men seated.

"No." He answered plainly to the surprise of everyone.

"Lord Saga that's not the answer we expect to hear" said a lady

"Really?, What else am I supposed to say?" He asked making a furious man hit the desk hard with his hands

"Have you gone insane?, Your father was once a member of the council didn't he teach you how to behave when you're summoned?"

"Leave my father out of this, he's done his part in raising a fine young man"

"Indeed, I only see a self centered man"

"Look harder, I'm sure you'll see clearly..."

The king stood up stopping everyone from murmuring.

"I do not expect such from you Lord Saga"

"Neither do I my King. This was something not to complicate but you complicated it why?, To prove you were a better king to the latter or because of the resentment you have for my father?"

"Silence!!" Ordered the king. "You gave your wife to a stranger forgetting that she's the Jew bearer and doesn't only serve you but the people too, what will happen if we're caught up in a mess, who will save us.."

"My wife is in safe hands my King, I don't think it's necessary for this council to have a say whatsoever, you all should leave".

"The insolence, I've never seen such before...."

"I was locked up only because I gave my wife to someone I felt was capable, I knew if my wife stays here she'll die because everyone wants a new jew bearer!!"

"And since when do you love her?, I know all about your marriage and I doubt she'll be worried if she sees your head hanging from a gallow. Guards!!" Shouted Lord Gus the elderly man.

The Guards hurriedly rushed to them.

"Lord Saga Reigs of Rororal Kingdom, you're hereby sentenced to death for illegal selling of the Jew bearer. Take him away!" Ordered Lord Gus and the guards grabbed him

"Do you have any last thing to say?" Asked Lady Penelope one of the council members.

"I pray you all get what you deserve for this wrong sentence" he said with a smirk on

"Take him away..." Ordered Lord Gus.

"My Lord, don't you think we're treating him harshly, firstly this is a matter that can be handled by the King of Rororal not the whole council and since we're here why are we making it a big deal, if Lord Saga dies then Lady Gorra...."

"Doesn't like him, Lord Theodore has waited for long and when he unites with the Lady, they'll become invincible" said Lord Gus

"The people?, What if they ask why Lord Saga was sentenced to death, he's loved by many of them"

"We will say his wife wanted it, besides no one questions Lady Gorra's judgement not even in secret" he laughed before walking away.

"Death!" Panicked Queen Lela. "How can you let the council sentence him to death, what exactly is his crime?"

"Calm down my queen, even I was surprised by the sentence.."

"Surprised?, You called the council here, what did you expect?" She fumed

"You're overreacting...."

"Because you're letting outsiders make decisions regarding your kingdom, this is not something that requires the council's help or advice, how can you let them conclude this matter. What if Lady Gorra doesn't want him dead, yes she dislikes him but what if she doesn't want him dead and of recent I noticed how close they've become. What about the people? What will they think when they find out that you called the council to make a decision concerning Lord Saga's case, they'll call you a weak king and taunt you...what happens when a kingdom has no respect for it's king...it falls apart!!" Shouted Queen Lela, she was now panting.

The king rested his hand on a table.

"What do I do?"

"Stop it!"

"I cannot do that..."

"Why??" She asked and he turned to her sharply

"Why are you taking this seriously?, Lord Saga isn't your husband....."

"I'm worried about you my husband.." she covered up, she couldn't let the king notice how she wanted to protect Lord Saga, when she heard his sentence she couldn't control herself, she was loosing it and she felt that talking to the king could change things.

"I'm worried about you because you're my husband and your pain is my pain, I cannot let the people hate you because I too will be the victim"

The King sighed. "I have to stop this..."

"Yes you must, and I'm with you in this".

Lord Saga was chained and taken to where the servants were beheaded, the people were watching and crying. He searched for Selina with his eyes carefully, he wanted to know if she had been beheaded already. He exhaled on finding her, she had a bruised face and was wearing a mean expression, other servants quivered and wept for their lives as their colleagues heads left their bodies rolling down but she didn't flinch or panicked. A weary smile came on his face, she was Selina and he knew why he kept her by his side all through the years, she had a long life and had served his family for years and now she would die a painful death, he wished he could stop it, he really did. As if hearing him she turned to where he stood and smiled, he had a chain locked to his neck and his two hands were chained.

"They treat you like an animal....when you only missed the throne by an accident" her voice came in his head and he smiled, she still had the energy to communicate with her powers in such a condition.

"You don't deserve this" he said and she smiled

"I will go before you my Lord, I cannot watch you die".

Lord Saga exhaled. "Neither will I" he answered and she raised a brow

"You can't, you're a Lord and....."

"You're important Selina...and I want to give you that.."

Selina's face was filled with surprise.

"Wait until this is over and I get my position back..."

"If.." she interrupted with a painful smile. "If my Lord" she answered.

"Next!!" Shouted a man diverting their attention to him, it was Selina he referred to. She gave Lord Saga one last look before being pulled down and her head placed on a wood.

"Selina of Rororal...Lord Saga's right hand!!" He announced and raised the sword up.

"It was wonderful living all those years with your ancestors" her voice came again before the sword came down...
