Lovely Sinners

Her hands wandered up from my waist to my face, holding it tightly, but gently at the same time. Our eyes locked, staring into each other's souls in the dimly lit motel room. My breath hitched, breaking from the spell, as the feel of her lips brushed against my own. "God, how the hell did we end up here?" She asked me, as a smirk began to form on my lips. I brushed my nose against her's, biting my bottom lip a bit. "I'm not exactly sure, but I'm definitely not complaining." I mumbled to her, as she scoffed and rolled her eyes with a playful smirk. "Yeah well, let's be glad we were able to find a motel away from everyone, or my parents may kill me." She giggled, as her fingers ran through my dark, curly hair. "Well yeah, a lot of Christian families don't exactly agree to homosexuality." I joked, but she quickly shut me up with her lips melting against my own. *** Fayola Abbas, a simple African-American girl starting her senior year of high school. I couldn't help but stare as she was talking to Amoy on the other side of the table. Her cute button nose, that jawline, those plump lips-

"Fayola, did you hear a word I said?" That annoying ass voice snapped me out of my stalkish stare, as I looked over at Jiro.

"Not a single word," I openly admitted, as the asian rolled his eyes. He sighed and slid over the chem notes from this morning.

"The quiz for tomorrow, I know you didn't take the notes we needed for it, so I'm trying to be nice!" He grumbled, as I made an 'o' shape with my mouth then smiled.

"You're the best jackass a girl could ask for." I hummed, as he grumbled words under his breath. But, I caught onto one about me staring at Dasom. I quickly stopped my movements to grab my notebook and stared wide-eyed at Jiro. I grabbed his arm and dragged him away from the table, as Amoy and Dasom looked over with confused faces.

Once Jiro and I were out of the cafeteria, I grabbed both of his arms and looked up at him.

"What the hell did you just say?" I growled at him, as he raised a brow at me. Then his god-awful smirk began to stretch across his face, as he chuckled.

"Damn, I knew it. I gotta say, I didn't think Dasom was your type-"

"NO!" I quickly covered his mouth and stared wide-eyed at him.

"Don't you breath a word of this to Amoy! You can tease me all you want about it when neither of them are around! But," I stopped and gulped, still covering Jiro's mouth.

"I-I beg of you, don't say anything. Please." I shakily begged, as I could see Jiro's eyes soften. He gently pulled my hands away from his mouth and nodded.

"Alright, but I don't understand why you're not asking her out already?" He asked, as I sighed and crossed my arms.

"Her family...they're not very accepting of same-sex couples because of religion. And I don't wanna pressure Dasom to tell me if she does like girls, because she's not even sure. Along with that, I don't wanna ruin the friendship we just started." I told him, as he nodded slowly in understanding.

"Alright, I won't breath a word. But, I got a keen eye about you, gotta say." He cheekily commented with a small smile. I punched his shoulder and shook my head with a laugh.

"Whatever loser! But thanks." I smiled genuinely to him as we headed back to the lunch room.

"What the hell were you two gossiping about without us?! I want in!" Amoy huffed, as I shook my head. Jiro and I zipped our lips simultaneously, as Amoy cried out in aggravation.

"So not fair! I thought we were all friends who shared secrets!" Amoy whined, as I raised a brow at her.

"Yeah? Would you like me to tell Jiro about some of the things you've told me to keep secret?" I asked, as Amoy quickly shut up and shoved food into her mouth.

Jiro and I laughed at her antics, as I could still see Dasom glance at me with a puzzled look. She didn't say anything, and continued to talk to Amoy about the new clothing coming out she was excited for.

Dasom and I got into my car, since Dasom didn't feel like driving this morning and I offered to pick her up.

"So, what were you and Jiro gossiping about without us?" Dasom asked, as she got settled into the car and I started the engine. I grumbled, as I knew I had to let the car warm up for a minute, so I had no way to seem distracted from answering.

"Nothing really, just bestie stuff." I said, as I finally was able to pull out of the parking spot and out of the parking lot.

"Oh c'mon! You can tell me! I won't tell Amoy if that's what you're worried about." She laughed, as I laughed back nervously.

"Just about people and such. Sorry, we promised each other we won't tell...for now." I hummed, as Dasom huffed in her seat and crossed her arms.

"Fine! Fine! I won't pester you about it anymore." She grumbled in fake annoyance, as I laughed at her.

"Thanks, appreciate it." I said, as the conversation moved to our English test coming up. We talked about the notes and such, until we pulled up to her house. Dasom thanked me for the ride, about to get out, until my arm sprung out and grabbed her wrist.

I began to blush, and pulled my hand back, as my hands had other thoughts than I did. And apparently my mouth, as I blurted out:

"Are you free this weekend? I was wondering if you wanted to hang out?"

Dasom stared at me, then smiled and nodded.

"Sure! I love hanging out with the gang-"

"No, just us." I interrupted, as she raised a brow at me, but continued to smile.

"Sure! Text me the details this week!" She smiled, leaning over into the car and hugging me sideways. I hugged her back a bit, a blushing mess now, as I watched her get out. I watched her walk all the way up her driveway, unlock her door, close the door behind her, and even continued to stare at the closed door for a moment. I finally took a deep breath, not noticing I was holding it, then broke out in a huge grin.

"Holy shit, I pretty much asked her out on a date, without meaning too...I gotta call Jiro!" I shouted and moved the gear into drive, speeding home.

***

"You WHAT?!" Jiro yelled across the phone, as I lied on my stomach on my bed. I had my phone on speaker, as I flipped through my homework.

"Yeah! I actually asked her on a date! Well...Not REALLY a "date-date", cause I didn't say "date"." I chuckled nervously, as Jiro sighed on the other side of the line.

"Well! How do you even know Dasom is into other girls? Like you said, her parents are heavily catholic and wouldn't approve of her dating you. And also, Dasom said she's not sure-"

"I know! Don't ruin my good mood!" I shouted at him, as he 'tsked', as I could imagine him shaking his head at that moment.

"Fayola, you gotta get better at thinking things through, before doing them." He emphasized the 'before', as I subconsciously rolled my eyes at him.

"Whatever! Goodbye Jiro! I thought you'd celebrate this little accomplishment of mine more with me!" I scoffed jokingly, as he laughed.

"Bye! I got homework to finish! But, don't be a dumbass on this date. Think about her feelings as well." He said, before hanging up. I rolled over on my bed, lies on my back, and stared up at the ceiling. I thought about the last thing he said, as it made sense. I gotta take her feelings into consideration too. Because I don't know if she likes me or even girls in general. And also, she could be terrified to go against her own religion and not be friends if I asked her to be my girlfriend.

I groaned loudly and covered my face with my hands, as I stomped my feet on my bed.

Now, all I have to think about is where to take Dasom on this...Date?

I yelled loudly at thinking too deeply into this, as it started to give me a headache.
