CHAPTER 4: Their eyes met
in the cafeteria, Joseph and his friends were eating quietly when tyler brought up a topic. well it was mainly aimed at Joseph.
"so jojo, you remember that party I went to last week". without waiting for a reply. "it was so messed up. some guys got into a fight over a girl , and then someone got injured and there was blood. and some people threw up. and some idiot called the cops". when he spoke, he was so excited like a kid. then Lydia spoke up.
"that always happen in every party you go to. the number of times you have told us similar story can't be counted". she said while rolling her eyes. then she received a glare from tyler and he said something that made her angry.
"keep rolling your eyes till you find your brain back there. and besides I wasn't talking to you I was talking to my BEST FRIEND". he emphasized on best friend.
And Lydia cleary knew what he meant. her face turned beet red from the anger.
Although they knew each other since they were little, Joseph never paid attention to Lydia, because she was always clingy and needy. so he always avoided her. but he and tyler have been very close.
tyler ignored her and continued speaking. " oh... and I met some good looking girls more beautiful than this clingy idiot" he said referring to Lydia. "among them was the belle of nobles high, I could introduce you to her next time" .
Lydia got so mad that she started making up rumours about the girl in question. then Joseph who was quiet all along shut her up with a Sentence.
" and what makes you think you are so perfect." her face turned red and she tried to explain herself." I..I didn't me..mean it that way I was just stating according to rumours. she stammered.
Joseph ignored her and said to tyler who was trying to hold in his laugh. " give me a date and time I'll see if I can make it. he stood up and left the cafeteria with tyler following behind. leaving Lydia there alone.
tyler tried talking to Joseph as they were leaving the cafeteria. " are you really going to come? I can call her right now. ge said excitedly while bringing out his phone.
then he noticed Joseph staring at him and asked. " what". Joseph replied. "are you really dumb or you're just pretending when you know why I said that back there." then he shook his head and continued walking.he agreed just so that he could get Lydia off his back.
when he got to class 3_A he noticed that someone was in the class so he stopped to take a look.
Joseph has always Been observant since he was little and during his time in the cafeteria he didn't notice any one leaving.unless she wasn't there.
he kept looking at her as she stirred out the window, even from her side profile he could tell she was beautiful. but were she turned to look at him his heart skipped a beat, although he didn't know why he felt drawn to her he was so drawn as he looked into her brown eyes.but he was able to hide his emotions.
kelly noticed that someone was stirring at her , so she turned around to look and their eyes met . she stirred at him for a little while before turning back.
Joseph on the other hand tried to figure out who she was when someone tapped him on his shoulder, her turned to see tyler looking at him with a questioning gaze and he asked. "who is she".
tyler was stunned for a second before he spoke. "dude are you seriously asking that right now. are you trying to tell you've never heard of the school introvert." Joseph looked oblivious so he continued. "sociopath, weirdo." but he still got the same questioning gaze. " nothing at all how about the smartest girl in school". then he got a reply. " oh you mean daisy simons.
"yes. wait no, not daisy her name is Kelly.he sighed in defeat as he looked at Joseph helplessly who in return glared at him.
Joseph turned to look at her one more time before walking away. he used to overhear people talking about the weirdo and smartest girl but he didn't think they were the same people.he couldn't get her oit of his head
when kelly noticed that he wasn't there anymore she sighed in relief. she actually thought he was a pervert. but she guessed that wasn't the case.
