Abby remained silent and just focused on driving.

Emily was still in a daze when she felt the phone in her pocket vibrate.

She glanced at the caller ID and quickly darted her eyes to look at Abby. After hesitating for a few seconds, she picked up the call and lowered her voice. "Hey," she whispered.

She was a little surprised that Ronald would take the initiative to call her. Ever since he'd found out about her miscarriage last time, he had never spoken to her once.

"Where are you now?" he asked, his voice monotone as always.

"I'm on my way home now," she said as she lifted her hand to look at her wristwatch.

"He should still be in his office at this hour," she thought.
