Chapter 14 He's Still Not Back Yet!

Ronald didn't return to the mansion for the night. Emily waited for him all night and even lost sleep over him. Her heart sank when she saw that there were no calls or texts from him the next morning.

Her body, which hadn't fully recovered yet, made her look like even more of a tired mess.

A housemaid knocked on the door and summoned her downstairs for breakfast. She obliged and made her way downstairs.

Grandpa Bell, who was already seated at the dining table, waved at her. "Emily dear, come join us," he said cheerily.

Emily saw that Leah and her mother, Victoria were seated at the table as well. She walked over and mustered a weak smile. "Good morning, Grandpa Bell and Aunty Victoria," she greeted.

Seeing as she was by herself, Leah quickly put two and two together. "Where's my brother? Didn't he return home last night?" she asked, as if to imply something.

Grandpa Bell also realised this not long after. He turned to Emily and asked, "Did Ronald not return last night?"
