Chapter 4: The Disappearance!

Three hours have passed with no news at all about Diego's condition, that's good news, Dr. Wilson is well known in the country for her skills. At some point, Carlos broke the silence of the awkward atmosphere in the hallway.

- Tom, notify Ron to make a background check on Dr. Wilson, right now! (CARLOS)

- Yes, boss. (TOM)

As soon as Tom left, Carlos turned to Henry.

- Henry! What's your opinion about Dr. Wilson? (CARLOS)

Henry understood Carlos's hint about Dr. Wilson. Henry is the trainer of the gang members and understands someone's potential with his keen eyes.

- Strong, fast, with good reflexes. (HENRY)

- How did she defeat you? (CARLOS)

- She was dodging my attacks while she was observing my speed, strength, and reflexes. At the right moment, she used my strength against me and knocked me out. (HENRY)

- I see. She is just like you, she has keen eyes in combat. (CARLOS)

- No! She is better. (HENRY)

- HUH? What do you mean? (CARLOS)

- She managed to defeat both of us while the Chloroform wasn't off her system yet. (HENRY)

- You mean ... (CARLOS)

- Yeah! She couldn't use all her skills. She was calm, observing, meticulous, and methodical with every move she was making. She was like ... the perfect ... killing machine. For a moment I thought... I was fighting... a monster. (HENRY)

- Hmm? What are you talking about? (CARLOS)

- Boss! Don't think I'm crazy, or because I was easily defeated ... but for a moment ... I could swear that I saw ... her eyes ... glow. (HENRY)

- It must have been the adrenaline ... or ... anxiety. Don't overthink. (CARLOS)

- Yes, Sir. (HENRY)

- "I know what I saw. And for the first time in my life... I was scared! I was scared of my life. I thought that I would die today!" (HENRY)

Soon after Tom came back and asked if there were any updates on Diego's condition, both men shook their heads negatively. Tom also took a seat next to them and waited. Right now, it was the only thing they could do, the rest was up to Dr. Wilson's hands.

---Three hours later---

Dr. Wilson finally came out of the operating room and notified them that Diego was stable now but needed to be monitored for a couple of days in case of infection. All three of them were relieved to hear the good news.

- Thank goodness! Thank you a lot Dr. Wilson, you really deserve your reputation as the best doctor in the country. Please allow me to show you my hospitality by staying in my mansion for a couple of days, it's my gratitude, for saving my brother's life. (CARLOS - POLITE SMILE)

- "I knew he wouldn't just let me go. But don't worry, I have a big surprise for you." (ANNA)

- Oh my! How could I refuse such a polite offer? (ANNA - SOFT SMIRK)

-"She is smiling? Why is she smiling?" (CARLOS)

- "I have a bad feeling about this." (HENRY)

-"It's creepy and scary! I feel like, I'm seeing the devil smiling at us." (TOM)

All of them were surprised to see her smile but without expressing it. However, the bad feeling at this smile became stronger and stronger.

- I'm glad that you have accepted my hospitality, my lady. Tom, please lead Dr. Wilson to the guest room. (CARLOS - POLITE SMILE)

-"Boss! Please don't leave me alone with the Devil! I don't want to die! I'm too young to die!" (TOM)

- Uh- Ah! Dr. Wilson, please follow me, I will escort you to your room. (TOM)

- Thanks a lot, Mr. Santos! So, shall we go? I'm really tired, I was operating for six hours after all. (ANNA - SOFT SMIRK)

-"Santos? Did she do it on purpose or is it because of exhaustion?" (CARLOS, HENRY, TOM)

- The pleasure is all mine, my lady! Oh, and, my name is Carlos not Santos, my lady! (CARLOS - POLITE SMILE)

- *YAWN* ... Uh!... I'm sorry, did you... just say something? (ANNA)

- "That woman! She does it on purpose, I'm sure about it!" (CARLOS - IRRITATED)

- "Unbelievable! This is the first time that someone managed to make Carlos irritated." (HENRY, TOM)

- Take a good rest, my lady! You will have a long conversation when we will enjoy dinner together. I hope you won't refuse to dine with me, my lady! (CARLOS - POLITE SMILE)

- It would be my pleasure! Now if you excuse me, I would like to take a rest. (ANNA)

- Of course my lady. We have plenty of time to be together after all. (CARLOS)

Anna nods softly but indifferently. Soon after everyone left to take a rest.

While Tom was leading Dr. Wilson to the guest room, the feeling of death was strongly sensed from behind him. Finally, they arrived at the guest room after a long walk of ten minutes.

- This is the Guest room, Dr. Wilson. Please enjoy your staying. (TOM)

Anna opened the door and took a few steps, and saw the room where she will be staying. Everything in this place where luxurious, her abductor had expensive taste, that's for sure. She turned back to look at the person who escorted her.

- Thanks, Jon. (ANNA)

- Um ... Dr. Wilson, it's Tom. (TOM)

The door was shut closed suddenly by little force in front of him, which made him startled.

------------ A couple of hours later ----------

Carlos was in his room resting but thinking about Dr. Wilson. He kept thinking about Tom and Henry's words. Tom was feeling a strong aura from her and Henry told him that she has the same skills, but probably she is more skillful. Is she really, a doctor?

- "Sharp and keen eyes like the eagle, huh?" (CARLOS)

Observation skills refer to the ability to use all five of your senses to recognize, analyze and recall your surroundings. This practice is often associated with mindfulness because it encourages you to be present and aware of the details of your daily life.

Observation skills are dependent on several other abilities and attributes, such as:

Communication

Emotional intelligence

Critical thinking

Attention to detail

Carlos has three of them, communication, emotional intelligence and critical thinking but not the Attention to detail, that's why Henry is also Carlos's right hand in business because of his observation skills and his similarities to his personality as well. Tom on the other hand is most close to Diego with more experience.

Carlos couldn't wait any longer, he stood up and checked his watch. In an hour will have dinner with his guest, so he had time to see Ron, his personal hacker. He left the room and went straight to the security room. He knocked on the room door and a male voice responded to him to enter. He opened the door and entered the room, not far away from him, a man was standing and drinking coffee.

The man was around 1.74cm tall with beige skin color and round thick brows. His hair was emo pixie in black color, his eyes were deep-sunken green emerald. His face was square long jaw, a hooked nose, and thin heart lips.

- Any updates? (CARLOS)

- She started working at the hospital two years ago, and soon after most of them were afraid of her because of her strong aura and sharp tongue. Of course, some people tried to screw her over but the results were in vain. So, that means that woman is more powerful than we think, or ... she has a strong backer. And now I'm waiting for the results for before she started working at the hospital. Whoever that woman is ... she is far more complicated than I first thought. (RON)

- Interesting! (CARLOS)

Half an hour had passed while Carlos and Ron were still waiting for more information about Dr. Wilson. One thing they were sure of is that Dr. Wilson knew how to hide, or that someone knew how to hide her personal information. But the question was ... why? All of a sudden the door was ubsrurelly opened and Tom and Henry came in full of panic and sweating, startling both Carlos and Ron.

- Boss! (HENRY)

- Dr. Wilson ... (TOM)

- Disappeared! (HENRY)

Both Carlos and Ron were stunned by what they've just heard. How can anyone just ... disappear in such a heavily guarded mansion with full of security cameras all over the place and in each corner.

- What? How is this even possible? (RON)

- What the hell were you doing? How the hell did you let this happen, you idiots? (CARLOS)

- Boss, no alarm was even activated and all men were patrolling all the time. (HENRY)

- I knew that woman was definitely the devil. (TOM)

- What kind of nonsense is this? Someone must have done a mistake. (CARLOS)

- No! I was watching the security cameras. Besides if someone will leave with no access the alarm would have been activated immediately. (RON)

- Check again, 3, NO! Five times again. Make sure that no one made a mistake and report to me again after half an hour here. NOW!

- Yes, sir! (RON, TOM, HENRY)

- "Damn it! What the fuck it's going on here?" (CARLOS - IRRITATED)

Half an hour later.

- So? (CARLOS)

Unfortunately, everyone came back with the same results.

- We even went back to the house. There was no one there. She never went back. Maybe ... she went to report us ... to the authorities. (HENRY)

- Ron, tell me at least that you have the results of Dr. Wilson?

- They just came, Sir! (RON)

- Good! Report to me! (CARLOS)

- There is nothing on record about Dr. Wilson before she started working in the hospital, Sir! (RON)

- What? (HENRY)

- How is that possible? (CARLOS)

- So ... what does that mean? (TOM)

- *Sigh* It means that ... Dr. Wilson ... never existed in the first place. (RON)

- Then, who the hell is she? (CARLOS)
