Chapter 2

I stood in front of the company worried about what was going to happen. Last night after my father came home from his date, he seemed very...upset. I didn't know if something happened between my step-mom or if it was something I did. Whatever it was, I was getting ready to face it.

"Good morning." I said to my coworkers.

Thought I greeted them nicely, they didn't respond to me. I knew something was off.

"I'm sorry, Chisa. I had a discussion with your mother last night, and she was right. I have been spoiling you lately, and I need to decide when to let you fly off. I need to teach you about the real world, where you need to get a job not through me, but through your own reputation. Also, she said the best thing would also be to let you live on your own." My dad explained to me.

"What?" I never heard anything more stupid in my life. Why on earth is he listening to her?

"Don't worry! I will pay for your new apartment, but don't tell your mother that." My dad put his finger against his mouth.

I was so shocked that I didn't know what to say to him. I supposed this meant that I'm fired.

"Stay strong Chisa!" My dad cheered me on.

And this is where I am now. Standing in front of my dad's company. No job and boyfriendless. "Geez, what am I supposed to do now?"

I guess the only option was to drink my worries away.

"You know? Never trust a man." I said half-drunk to a woman next to me.

"But my boyfriend is really kind." The woman informed me.

"He will cheat on you some day. Trust me."

"Excuse me, Miss. You are disrupting the other customers." The bartender told me.

I looked around and saw people staring at me. I guess I was disturbing them.

All of the sudden an arm wrapped around me. It was a man's arm. "I'm sorry. Is my girlfriend disturbing you?"

"Oh, is this your girlfriend? Yeah. She is kind of disturbing others." The bartender nodded his head.

"I see." The man said. "I'll take her home then."

The man then escorted me outside. I didn't know where he was taking me, bug I didn't want to be kidnapped. I then turned around and pushed him away. "Who are you?" I asked.

"Ouch. You don't remember me, Chisa?" The guy asked.

I then backed up a bit to gain a closer look of the guy. My vision became clearer, and I was able to see him better. "Taichi?"

"Long time no see, Chisa." Taichi laughed.

"It has really been a while." The last person I would have expected to meet in this sort of place was Taichi. Let alone him saying he wasy boyfriend.

"How is life?" He asked.

"Not so good." I answered truthfully.

"I could tell by what happened back in the bar."

"Ah, I see."

"Do you happen to have a job?"

I looked up at him. Should I tell him the truth? I want him to be happy that I'm well off, but he saw how it was back in the bar. "Well, no. I lost my job today."

Taichi became quiet for a while, then answered. "How about I offer you a job?"

I looked up at him. "A job?"

"Yeah. You lost your job, right? I might have the right job for you." Taichi smiled.

This could either go well or go terribly. Whatever one it was, I needed to take it. This might be the last chance I would be able to get a job. "I'll take it."

"You will?" Taichi looked at me with surprise.

I nodded my head with confidence.

"Alright then. Let me give you my contact. I'll let you know the information of where the job's at. Good night." Taichi smiled.

"Thank you so much." I held backy tears of joy.

I may be saved. My life may turn for the better.
