Chapter 38- Unexpected Voice
Delilah burst into laughter, wasn't she the one who said her grandma was a remarkable woman, so what with that look?
" Nice? Did you just say nice? Haha", she laughed harder.
Anna frowned, she held Delilah's arm and shook her slightly, "Come on, answer ", she pleaded.
Delilah cleared her throat, "Ahem! My grandma has no definition of being 'nice'. She is very strict, and she is prone to always having a stern face like Mr. Zhou", she answered.
Anna's face paled, "Delilah… are you for real?", her voice trembled slightly.
Delilah stopped goofing around and said honestly, "Of course, my grandma can be strict, but she's quite a softie if you get to know her…. Let's go now, we might get punished for getting late to dinner"
Anna gulped hard and nodded, she followed Delilah and the maid out of the room.
The girls were about to arrive in the dining room when an unexpected voice called from behind, "Delilah".
The two girls turned around to see who it was.
"Dad!", Delilah screamed happily and ran into Chen Xiao's arms.
" How are you doing Lila? You look more beautiful than the last time I saw you", said Chen Xiao as he rubbed her head fondly.
Delilah released the hug, "I've been eating well, thanks to Mrs. Feng Tian Tian…", she smiled. Delilah grabbed Chen Xiao's wrist, happily leading him to where she left Anna.
"Dad, this is Anna. Anna, this is my dad, the most handsome man on earth", Delilah introduced cheerfully, Chen Xiao chuckled as he shook his head.
Anna bowed three hundred and sixty degrees, "Evening Mr. Chen Xiao, my name is Zennabelle Ring…. Sorry sir, I meant Zerabelle Ding…. No, I meant….", Annabelle couldn't control her tongue.
She thought it wasn't true but seeing him with her own eyes, she felt like it was all a dream, like this is CEO Chen Xiao, THE CEO CHEN XIAO!
" Annabelle Ning, right?" Chen Xiao stretched out his hand for a handshake, he had a soft and fatherly smile on his face that somehow calmed Annabelle's anxiety.
Annabelle accepted the handshake with both hands, she felt like she was holding the hands of a god, "Y-Y-Yes sir, I am A-Annabelle Ning", she smiled nervously.
"Nice to meet you Annabelle, hope you are comfortable here?", Chen Xiao smiled as he separated the handshake.
Anna nodded as she pushed her glasses back and bowed again, "Yes sir"
" I'm glad to hear that", Chen Xiao gave a gentleman smile.
" Ahem! So dad, what brought you to D…" before Delilah could complete her sentence,
Bark! Bark! Bark!
Rigby ran into the house with Mr. Tang Yu behind it. Delilah's eyes lit up like a thousand bolts, "Rigby!" she went on a knee and the cute little furry fella ran into her arms.
Anna's eyes also sparkled when she saw the dog, "He looks so cute, Rigby right?", she said and Delilah nodded.
"Whoa, so adorable c…can I touch him?" Anna asked again, and Delilah moved close to her with the dog in her arms. Anna reached out and rubbed the little fella fur, she was mesmerized, she had only seen dogs like this on TV, he looked so cute and cuddly.
