Did I overshare today?

"You're late," the person sitting on the staircase said, causing Tian to stop pause and look at the small figure. "Yeah, I am," Tian answered nonchalantly as he focused on removing his shoes in the doorway.

The small figure ran towards him, her small hands grabbing the hem of his shirt as she probed further, "But why?"

"I went to drop the pretty lady at her house.", one could detect the hint of smugness in his voice as he said that, his hand removing her hand from his shirt to grab it instead, leading her to the living room.

A small gasp was heard from her, her little doe eyes widening, "Tell me, you are lying, right? Right? Because in the movies, the boy leaves the girl at her home after they become a couple, but you are not a couple, right? Tell me, tell me, tell me Tina", the little one went off, not caring about the lack of air she might face for speaking in such a pace.

"Aiko," Tian said firmly as he sat down on the couch, "First, my name is Tian, not Tina. And second, you don't have to be a couple to give someone a ride home."

Aiko looked at him with furrowed brows, her expression thoughtful as she sat on the couch beside Tian, "Is that so?"

Tian hummed, closing his eyes as he rested his head on his propped-up arm. "Any more questions, munchkin?", he asked.

Aiko glanced at her brother. Her eyes were still filled with many questions, but seeing his tired state, she chose to save them for later.

"No, not for now. You should go and change," she said as she jumped down from the couch and turned around to go back to her room.

After a few footsteps, she stopped and looked back at Tian.

Lifting her lips to form a mischievous smile, she went near his ear and whispered, "Besides, you are stinking, brother. I bet the pretty lady must be feeling embarrassed to say it on your—no, Tina, ow."

Aiko's tiny legs took her toward her room as fast as they could while Tian ran behind her, saying something along the lines of 'I don't stink', not that she had the chance to listen carefully as she closed the door behind her.

She turned around to look at the full-length body mirror in her room, and the horrifying sight of her disheveled, braided hair brought her to tears.

She glanced back at the door, easily hearing her brother's laughter from behind it. She gritted her teeth and her fist raised as she banged on the door thrice with each word. "You are bad, Tina. You are bad, bad, bad."

Tian chuckled with a shake of his head as he could already imagine her fuming behind the door, he stepped back, moving away from her room to go back towards the couch to grab his bag.

He made his way upstairs to his room. Opening the door, he placed his bag on the chair and plopped on the bed with his arms wide.

Noticing that the air conditioner in his room was turned on, he smiled. The little munchkin must be waiting for him by the staircase after turning it on before he arrived back from school so that his room could cool down.

Then his thoughts returned to Cynthia. Her smile, the way she listened to him so intently, and her emotions being so visible on her face - all of that just tugged at his heart.

Then a frown came to settle on his forehead as he realized that he might have overshared today. 'I mean, it was the first time we had a proper conversation with each other, and I just spilled out everything about myself.'

But soon his thoughts came to contradict himself, 'Well technically, it's not my fault. Aren't we supposed to share everything with the person we like? I just did that and, I can never resist those pretty hazel eyes that seemed so interested.'

Tian nodded to himself, 'Absolutely, there's no need to feel any regret. Even friends share such things and besides, she is much more than that to me'. He chuckled but soon stopped when he realized that he must be looking like a fool laughing all alone.

Half-heartedly, he sat up and went to the washroom to take a shower. After fifteen minutes he came out and sat on the edge of the bed, just in front of the window.

His hand worked to dry his hair with the help of a towel, his posture relaxed and soon his thoughts went back to the hazel-eyed girl, who had refused to leave his mind for weeks.

I seriously need Aiko in my life!!!
