Chapter 4 - A Secret Revealed and a Secret Meeting

Lisa had been noticing strange looks from the palace staff, and she sensed something was amiss. One day, while delivering laundry to the queen's chambers, she overheard a conversation that made her heart skip a beat.

"...and then the king said, 'Richard must marry Princess Luan, or else...'" the queen's maid whispered to another servant.

Lisa's heart raced as she realized the king's ultimatum. She knew she had to tell Richard, but how? They were watched closely, and any misstep could mean disaster.

That night, she snuck into Richard's chambers, her heart pounding in her chest. "Richard, I have something important to tell you," she whispered, her voice trembling.

Richard's eyes locked onto hers, filled with concern. "What is it, Lisa? What's wrong?"

Lisa took a deep breath. "The king has ordered you to marry Princess Luan. If you don't, there will be consequences."

Richard's face darkened, his jaw clenched in anger. "I'll never marry her, Lisa. I'll find a way to be with you, no matter what."

Richard knew he had to see Lisa again, to tell her about his decision and plan their next move. But the palace was full of spies and informants, and he couldn't risk being seen with her.

He sent a trusted servant, Jacob, to fetch Lisa from the slave quarters. Jacob was loyal and discreet, and Richard knew he could count on him to keep their secret.

Lisa was brought to a secluded garden, hidden away from prying eyes. Richard was already there, pacing back and forth, his heart racing with anxiety.

As soon as Lisa arrived, he took her in his arms, holding her close. "Lisa, I've made up my mind. I'll never give you up. I'll find a way to make it work, even if it means leaving the palace."

Lisa's face lit up with hope, and she hugged Richard tightly. "I'll stand by you, no matter what," she whispered.

Richard smiled, feeling a surge of determination. He knew that with Lisa by his side, he could face anything.

They talked long into the night, making plans and promises to each other. They would find a way to be together, no matter what the cost.

As they parted ways, Richard knew that their love was strong enough to overcome any obstacle. And Lisa knew that she would always stand by the man she loved, no matter what the future held.
