“I want my little pets back.” The hunger became more evident for a moment. “I will win your council over and succeed and if you become too much trouble I will simply have to rid myself of you.”

That statement had sent a shiver up Ishaan’s spine but he kept it under wraps. “I am a senior member of the Science Consortium, there is no reason for me to recuse myself from deliberation with the Council.”

“You are too close to Carina.” Sorakov smirked down at Ishaan like he somehow knew that Ishaan wanted to punch her name out of the Cassoth’s mouth. “The Body will speak with it’s own voice, we do not need a sycophant to speak for them.”

“Correct,” the Speaker said, surprising Ishaan terribly. “You will recuse yourself from deliberation. The Body is welcome to participate in the discussion, but you are not.” The Speaker seemed almost gleeful and Ishaan remembered that the speaker had never been a fan of his. “You may go.”
