But what will happen when she finds out her fake husband also happens to be the son of the present mafia king? ......................................................................................................... “How am I supposed to not run? Why didn’t you tell me before?”, she asked. She was almost yelling. But Ben had already cleared the place for them to talk. “Because I knew you would run away. And I couldn’t have let you make that mistake.”, he answered. “But tell me, how can one not run?”, she asked with tears rolling down her cheeks. “Some people can’t. I am sorry you got dragged into this, but I promise I will protect you. And you will soon be free, but if you want to live and want your family to live, just do as I say.”, he tried to convince her. “Who are you going to protect me from? If your father is mafia king, it makes you what- a mafia prince?”, she asked looking at him with questioning eyes.

Chapter-7

"Are you sure, she is okay?", Leo asked again.

"I am!", Abrams was flipping the third pancake, and the pan was still not ready to let go of the whole pancake.

"It got stuck again!", she cried, and Leo got up from the couch annoyed.

"How many times do I have to tell you to put oil to the corner.", he complained.

"Just two times!", Abrams smirked. She knew how Leo loses his temper when instructions are not followed. And she loved watching him go all crazy with anger. Well, Leo was naïve.

"I am so worried Rams!", he screamed while falling into the couch. Abrams didn't expect this.

"What happened?", Abrams turned off the stove and sat beside him, worry etched on her face.

"Elise has not contacted us, even once. That's so not her!", Leo explained with a grave expression.

"Now I am also a little worried.", Elise replied checking her phone for any message from her best friend.

"Let me call Daniel!", Leo said and took out his phone. He walked out of the room. It was a weird habit of his. Talking in privacy, even with his mom or dad.

Abrams scrolled through her phone and read her message again. It showed that Elise had read it, but there was no reply. Slowly Abrams typed 'Are you okay?' and hit send.

"Rams! Daniel never showed up!", Leo entered the room screaming. He was red, with worry and anxiety. His best friend was missing!

"What!", Abrams stood up in shock. "Why?", she asked.

"Because he never got invited!", Leo said looking at Abrams with a questioning gaze.

"B-but I called him myself!", she stuttered and searched through call logs for proof.

"See!", she said and faced her phone's screen towards Leo.

"Rams, that is not Daniel's number.", Leo said looking at Abrams.

"But I talked to him!", Abrams was sure it was Eric.

"What did you call him?", Leo asked.

"Cameron, you know I address people by their surnames. People I don't know!", she answered. How could Leo forget? He was called Reutter for one whole month.

"There could be a lot of Cameron in this university itself!", Leo screamed. He was worried, anxious and almost about to faint.

"First, you calm down and sit on that couch!", Abrams screamed. She has to have control. And her best friend is missing, Abrams will deal with it. Leo's anxious pessimistic thoughts could ruin her motives, even before she can start working on them.

"How will we find her? What if he is some mafia? Or some psychotic student!", Leo yelled. He knew this plan will fail, but it will take such a life-altering turn, he didn't know that. He couldn't even think about that.

"What did I say? Go and sit on that couch and keep quiet. Let me think!", Abrams said in a low, threatening tone.

"Haven't you thought enough Abrams! She could be in danger. We need to go to the police, or any authority!", Leo made sense. But Abrams was just shocked to see Leo take charge.

"No!", Abrams's answer was short, crisp, and final.

"You don't get to play with people's lives!", Leo said and opened the door to walk out. He expected to walk out and shut the door with a loud bang, but all he saw was the corridor filled with people. Some he knew, some he didn't.

"What is happening here?", Leo asked looking at Abrams who was also staring at the crowd.

"What do you guys want?", Abrams screamed, and people looked at her.

"Is this Elise Iverson's room?", one girl asked.

"Yes, it is. But she is not here now.", Leo replied. Abrams was now standing beside him.

"Yes, we know. She must have already left for her honeymoon!", one other girl gushed.

"What do you mean?", Abrams was confused. Leo just thought these girls were crazy.

"Are you two her roommates?", a boy asked. They nodded and the crowd smiled. It was creepy.

"You guys are so lucky! Your roommate just married a sensation!", another girl cried.

"Our roommate is single! Very single!", Abrams spoke up. She was angry. With a bang, she slammed the door in their faces and Leo walked into the kitchen.

"What are they talking about?", Leo asked.

"How am I supposed to know!", Abrams answered and at that moment someone slipped a page from under the door. It was a torn page of a newspaper. The front page.

"What is this?", Leo walked to the gate and picked it up.

"Show me!" Abrams said and Leo followed without any hesitation.

She flipped the page back and forth, and that is when her eyes landed on a picture. A picture of a bride and a groom with their backs towards the camera, standing in a church. There was another picture of them kissing. And the bride was none other than her best friend Elise!

"Elise is married?", she spoke shocked.

"What are you saying!", Leo huffed and snatched the paper out of Abrams hands.

"Elise got married?", his reaction was the same.

"To Clayton Cameron!", Abrams almost whispered.

"You called Clayton Cameron for the blind date and not Daniel Cameron?!", Leo was getting the whole twist.

"But how could she marry a guy after their first blind date!", Abrams screamed. She was angry at Elise. But she was angrier at her own self for trusting Elise with a blind date!

"Maybe there is more to the story!", Leo said and kept the paper aside.

"I hope there is or Elise is dead!", Abrams said and Leo gulped.

"At least we know she is alive!", he tried to pacify the anger.

"Yeah! Alive and ignoring us!", Abrams said. Suddenly her phone rang and she checked the caller ID.

"Elise is calling!", she said and gave the phone to Leo. He looked at her but she asked him to pick up the phone.

Leo clicked on the receive button and he was about to place the phone on his ear when it was snatched away!

"Where the hell are you? We were so worried. You are so dead once I find you Elise!", Abrams screamed. And even though Leo knew, Abrams will try her best to beat Elise, he smiled as he saw his two best friends scream at each other on the phone. This is true love after all!
