Meet Kim, The Real/Fake Kim: Part 2

A few hours later.

Taesan keeps wandering in front of the kitchen. He casually pretends to pass by while stretching his neck, peeking inside the kitchen. Ji Seok and Sun seem to enjoy their cooking time. Sun even conducted a live stream with Ji Seok. They were enjoying their time entertaining the fans.

"This son of a..."

"Ji Seok looks happy, isn't he?"

Taesan jumps out of scare. Reese is standing exactly in front of the kitchen entrance, watching them with a huge smile.

Taesan rubs his nape and walks closer to his noona. The lady pats his shoulder, eyes still on them.

"I hope the positive vibe will draw Ji closer to us again," says Reese.

"Yeah. I hope that we can gather again. Just like the old times," Taesan replies. Reese smiles and slowly nods.

"Noona... Did you like this guy?"

"Why? Something's wrong with him?" asks Reese.

"Nothing suspicious so far. We did monitor him for a while," Taesan almost smacks his mouth when he realizes that he just exposed himself to Reese.

"What?!" Reese almost strangled her brother but the anger dispersed when she noticed that Sun coming towards them.

"Oh, Reese! Look!" Sun hops like a little bunny towards them. He brings a Nordic plate with a spaghetti meatball and shows her.

Taking this advantage, Taesan quickly yeet from there, running towards Ji Seok who just turned off the live streaming. Both of them seem to bicker in the background, while Sun stares at Reese with a happy smile.

"Looking good..." Reese stares at him with her hooded eyes.

"Yeah, it's tasty as well!"

"I'm not talking about the meal..." Reese slowly brushes her finger against his hand.

A smile slowly disappears from Sun's face. All he feels right now is a fire in his heart. The heat releases through his cheek, making his skin turn crimson red.

Reese snatches a towel from her shoulder and wipes the sweat from his forehead. He could smell raspberry and mint scents from the towel which made his knees weak.

"Sorry, I'm using my towel. You did sweat a lot!" Reese winks at him before she leaves him with jaw drops.

Wait, where is my heart gone?

***

It's dinner time.

Sun takes his seat between Jimin and Ji Seok while Reese sits between Taeyang and Gi. Taesan sits at the head of the table, just across So who sits at the other side, just next to Taeyang, with Jung In on a baby chair in between. Both of them are busy feeding Jung In.

"What did you do for a living, Sun?" a sudden question from Taesan makes him flinch. He puts down his fork and smiles, looking at Taesan.

"I have a small dance studio in town. On the 13th Alpine Street," So glares at Taesan. The older nods in tiny.

"Did you learn dancing at college?"

"Yeah. I'm taking my degree in contemporary dance and retrieve a license to teach dancing a few years after graduation," he says, with a smile that never leaves his face.

"How much did you make for a month?"

"San, don't you think you sound like your dad?" Ji Seok glares at him.

"Yes, I am right now. It's important to know whether he can take care of noona."

Sun's throat feels dry. He glances at Reese who now staring at Taesan with a so-done face.

"San, stop it. There's no need to ask such a question..."

"It's fine, Reese. I know he is just concerned about it," Sun puts down his cutlery and looks at Taesan.

"I might not be doing good right now. But I will try my best to be better in the future. My dream is to become a successful choreographer and have my own dance academy. I will work hard for Reese's future. Our future," Sun smiles at Reese.

Everyone stares at him right now.

Reese stutters, looking at the man sitting in front of her right now.

"I can't promise a world for you, Reese. But I wanna give my whole world to you," says Sun, with a shaky voice. He can't believe he confesses to her, in front of her family.

"This is getting serious!" Jimin whispers at So.

"I can't promise only good days with me, but I can promise that I'll give her happiness in her life. I wanna be a part of her life, wanna love her for better or for worse. I'm an imperfect person, but my feelings for her are genuine. I love your noona so much," Sun keeps smiling at Reese.

Slowly, Taesan glares at Reese. His noona is overwhelmed with happiness right now. Her face glows up and looks like she is almost in tears. All it takes is a little bit of push and here they are, listening to a simple but sweet confession.

"Glad to hear that..." says Taesan. He nods, looking at his brothers. They are all satisfied with the answer as well.

"Speaking of which... What did you guys do for a living?"

Jimin's fork drops. With that, he quickly apologizes.

Shibal!

Gi glares at Jimin. He can see the younger is cursing softly. He smirks as he casually chews a piece of meatball.

Taeyang drops his gaze at So. The man feeds Jung In some mashed potatoes. He looks as calm as Heaven. He draws a smile, looking at the younger. Today, So seems to be someone else. Not the So that Taeyang knows all this time.

"Both Gi and I, are lecturers from Alpine Institute. Gi is a professor at the Faculty of Law. While I'm teaching Economy for the BBA program," Taesan replies. He looks calm and confident while talking to Sun.

"Taeyang, Jimin and So graduated from the same institute but with different courses," Gi takes his turn to answer the question.

"I'm from Econ. Jimin is a BBA graduate. Only So is different..." Taeyang glares at So.

"I'm from Engineering. Major in automotive," So replies in short.

"That's mind-blowing!" says Sun. Seems like every fact about Kim's family amazes him.

"They have an auto workshop. Not far from here. AutoTech Garage," says Reese.

"AutoTech? That's a very famous workshop in town!"

Now that explains the cars that he saw on the porch! These guys are grease monkeys for expensive cars!

Gradually, Sun feels insecure. Reese was born in a rich ass family. Imagine him, a middle-class man who dares to hold a responsible for her future.

I should look at my reflection in the mirror!

"Noona however... She's a bit more special than the rest of us..." says Gi. Reese slowly lifts her sight at him.

Don't tell me she's a genius as well! Please do not tell me she got a doctorate! Sun prays silently. He can't take the pressure anymore.

"She used to work with a special unit as a personnel protection specialist," Gi continues.

"Special... What?" Sun looks confused.

"She used to work as a bodyguard for VVIPs and politicians. Before that, she trained under the Marine Corps and Special Force Unit," Taeyang explains.

Sun's jaw drops.

"In short, she knows how to operate a firearm, create the explosive device, cipher the encrypted coding..."

"... Hand combat, martial arts..."

"... Speaks many languages including sign language..."

"I think that's enough..." Reese stops her brothers from exposing her. She smiles but her eyes give them a deathly warning. The three little beagles shut their mouth tight.

Sun stares at Reese, full of amazement. And more insecurity stacks inside him.

"So, you have to think twice before making her mad. Or, perhaps dare not ever think about it!" Gi pats Sun's shoulder and throws him a friendly smile.

Sun quickly grabs his glass and drinks the content. It's a kind reminder for him not to mess with Reese.

"And, oh... Noona graduated from the Ivy League. Major in political science.." Taeyang whispers to Sun.

Now, all his confidence crumbled onto the floor.
