Chapter 4 Escape

They would never stop.

"Shut it?!, What did you just do?" roared a young man. He had short brown hair and a cap to cover his face.

"I stole the car." his partner replied nonchantly.

"You what?!" his voice was filled with disbelief.

"I needn't repeat myself. We have to leave right now!!" urgency laced his voice.

"Captain is really going to be furious!" the young man with short brown hair grimanced. This is not good!! he thought.

"If your scared then go back! I never asked you to come in the first place." he had green irises that reminded one of the green savannahs.He had already got into the car.

"Am not going back!" He said with determination. "Where the captain is, is where I'll be!!" No room for further discussions was left.

"Then let's go!" he started the engine as his buddy got on.

"The owner of the car?" the caped young man asked as he buckled his seatbelt.

"He's a dog on the loose and that should be the least of your concerns." the green eyed young man replied sternly

"And you let him!" the caped young man was clearly pissed. They were not ones that'd let criminals loiter around freely.

Shut up asshole, he's in the back seat. Now let's leave before the others notice. The stolen jeep sped off at high speed leaving behind a mess.

"Do you know where we'll find captain?" he was concerned.

"We will find him!!" He said with determination.

Secret military base

A young soldier came running maniacally to meet his superiors. He even forgot his manners and dashed in only to be faced with six stern cold faces. They were men dressed in army uniforms and were apparently having a meeting. Gulping down his fear, he saluted them all and remained still as steel.

"Reporting, two soldiers from the dark shadow elite force have gone Awol!" reported the soldier.

"It's going to get tough managing them." mumbled the colonel completely vexed.

"We could do something about it!" another general chimed in.

"You can keep dreaming. That elite force is a gone case now, it's like a different entity from the army and it's all because of that motherf***** captain Jason!!" cursed the colonel. His face was red in anger and this was giving him a headache. It had just been two days since they sent their captain away. His presence was a thorn in the throat and his absence was literally setting themselves on fire. Either situations didn't help at all as there was no guarantee. The higher ups knew better. He let out a tired sigh. This was going to be the worst of his time in the army.

Dark Shadow Elite Force quaters.

"Mike and Travis have gone!!" reported a young soldier of around 20 years.

"I expected that." said another who was leaning lazily against the window frame.

"Those two brats!!!" the second in command's face contoured.

"Can't blame them though!" a soldier next to him said tiredly and he had to cover his yawn.

"How about us?" the youngest in the group felt wronged. He was 17 years and was most fond of the captain.

"Stay like the captain said." the second in command said.

"I also wanna go." The 17 year old soldier Kevin grumbled.

"Stop whinning like babies all of you! We can't be unreasonable, We must stay and only go when the captain needs us!" the second in command roared. What did they think, he also wanted to be where the captain was but what could he do! His mood was grumpier than any of them.

"Those old sly foxes will have the worst of me!!" the one at the window frame declared angrily.

"Alright guys, enough! We have to go train now and behave!" said the second in command.

"Or we'll face the captain's wrath!!" They said in chorus then burst out laughing. It was only to conceal their pain and sadness. They matched to the training grounds.

City B

A black Jeep sped along the dark highway after driving for almost the whole day. He hadn't dared to stop afraid they'd be caught since they just ran away from the base but far worse punishments awaited them where they were heading. They had long past a poster that welcomed them to B city.

"Are you sure the captain's in this city?" asked the caped young man.

"Positive." replied the green eyed man.

(Yawning) "Am so hungry!" the caped young man rubbed his belly.

The green eyed turned to look at his younger brother and his expression softened. "Sleep, we shall get to the captain soon."

"Okay, but don't forget me when we reach. Remember to wake me up."he said to his elder brother and closed his eyes.

The green eyed young man kept his eyes on the road as they had entered the city bustling with life since dawn had knocked in, they had been through a lot but thanks to the captain, they now also had a life for themselves. While they were starving on the streets, their now captain came and offered them something they thought would be useless but not anymore. They belong to the Dark Shadow Elite Force, that was their family.

Jenny had no other choice but to seat across this annoying stranger and she had toned down her arrogance. She had been through a lot and could tell which people to mess with and those not to and this guy definitely was one not to mess with. The young man came to collect her order.

"Hello Chris!" greeted Jenny to prevent herself from getting angrier at this stranger. 'Why am I even angry?!'

" Hello Jenny. What are you going to have today?" Asked Chris.

"Suprise me. A different course today!"

'These two suit each other.' thought Chris. "Okay, I'll be right back!" and dashed away.Though Jenny was comfortable to be around, the man beside her was terrible company, his vibe was so wrong.

Soon, a heavy mouth watering French breakfast was delivered to the table consuming half of the table.

"Bon appetit Miss Jenny!" said the chef who had come along to deliver the meal. He liked her as she reminded him of his late daughter, both girls were gluttonous and never forgot to thank him after the meal. He didn't want to push his luck but only wished Jenny could start to consider him as a father because for him, she was already a daughter for him.

Being surrounded by now a group of people, Jason was forced to look up and meet these people's faces and the first person he saw was Jenny, looking at the other people around as well, he dived back to his meal.

However the young lady didn't care about a thing and her eyes were on the heavy breakfast before her. She didn't even hear the words that were said to her as her face was drooling and long after, she wolfed down the breakfast and after ten minutes when she was done, she remembered to notice the people around her, only to see pale faces.

The chef thought he could get used to seeing her wolfish appetite but that was a no, Chris who had a crush on her was made to think twice before trying his luck or he would have nothing left of his savings, the waitress's face laced with envy on how someone can eat so much but remain crazily beautiful where as from the stranger, he had to blink twice to make sure whatever he saw was reality. Seriously!!!!!, he was aghast.

Looking at the chef, she mumbled "don't look at me like that!", Turning to Chris and the waitress, "it's not the first time you see me eating." Then to the stranger before her, she was tongue tied, slowly heat crept from she didn't know where, up her neck to her face, her heart thundered against her rib cage like it wanted to flee and her throat became dry.

Tracing her eyes from his thick eyes brows, to those lashes where from behind them were the cold silver eyes staring back at her, his sharp firm nose that was not too pointed to his lips, pale pink, thin and sweet, she gulped. But wait...sweet, sweet!!!!! Did I just think that??!!!! Am I crazy!!!.

Jenny snapped from her stupor, paid the fee for the meal, forgot to thank the chef and dashed out for dear life. All that happened in less than thirty seconds and she was out.
