Chapter 27 The good boys

Jenny concluded with her classes at campus and rushed out of class, her mind on Emma. 'What did Jason need from Emma? Is there some kind of grudge between them? Or is Emma in danger?! No no no, that's impossible. I better hurry and find out what's going on.'

"Hey! Jenny!" Jerome walked towards Jenny who was so lost in her own thoughts and didn't give a damn about his existence. He blocked her path and grinned widely "Hello!"

"What?"

"Haha, hello!" he waved at her with a smile this time. 'Oh heavens, she's so cute when she's angry!'

With an annoyed look, she gritted her teeth and was planning to proceed and leave when Jerome finally spoke. "There's this party this weekend and I wanted to invite you." He really hoped she would agree and come along. All this had started as a mere feeling to play around with her but slowly, it had started to change to something he couldn't understand but since it involved her, he was willing to give it a try. He was smiling as he continued to look at her face expectantly.

"I don't party." she shattered his hope with a stern cold reply and with that being said, Jenny rushed out to the parking lot where she managed to spot Mike almost immediately. He was lazily leaning on a black Bugatti and had attracted girls attention who were checking him out. Almost immediately, Mike also spotted Jenny and waved at her with a bright smile which she returned and had nothing to do but be chocked to death with the girl's glares as she made her way to the car, getting in and requesting Mike to leave the premises as soon as possible.

Back at Jerome.

He stood frozen in his place, gritted his teeth and veins popped on his head when he saw that Jenny left with a measly guy and actually dared to ignore him. 'What do girls really want? I'm trying to be good to her but she is ignoring me and treating me like a plague she must avoid!!' He was close to going on a rampage, his hands in fists when his phone rang out. Seeing the caller ID, he took deep breaths and bottled up his anger and spoke calmly to the caller. "Father?" he never calls unless it's for business.

"Good day son." A gruff old voice rang out from the other end. "I need you home today. We some issues."

"Yes father." Jerome replied almost robotically.

As if noticing his son's grumpy mood, he pried though it wasn't his nature. "Oh, how is it going with that girl you spoke about?!"

"Playing hard to get."

"Hahahaha. Good luck son, hope you won't disappoint me."

At GW group of companies.

Chairman's office.

"I believe you have a suitable explanation as to why you stayed back with that bastard!"

"Yes father I do."

"Then get on with it and return to his side immediately."

Liam handed his finished report to his father concerning his findings on Jason. "Father, can I stop doing this?" he requested with a frown.

"Shut up idiot. I didn't bring you up to disobey me. You are to do as your ordered to." He stopped talking when he saw James Williams name. "How well acquainted is that bastard with James Williams?!"

"They are well acquainted father. Sir Williams refers to Jason as his brother."

'Lucky bastard, you still had someone willing to stand by your side and that so James!!' "I want you to schedule a meeting for me with that guy James Williams."

"Why father?"

"Do as your told." Lucas roared. He observed Liam who had shut his mouth.

"But they'll suspect me." Liam tried to make his father understand.

"That's none of my concern youngman. Find means for it to work and I want you to keep your eyes on that bastard Jason Miller 24/7 and make sure to report back immediately."

"Yes father."

"Good boy, now, go home soon. Your sister is worried about you and don't forget to stop by and greet your mother as well. She's in a foul mood since you've been away so long."

"Yes father."

Jenny walked into the base accompanied by Mike who was filling her in on what she needed to know. Reaching an arena, she was drawn when she heard cheers from the area. It seemed like some people were fighting and when one of the guys saw Jenny, he made a secret signal and all the guys got back in their seats away from the bloodied fighters like good boys but the atmosphere was tense as battle was still brewing.

She observed the grown up men and saw most of them bruised, she narrowed her eyes.

"Jenny, this way." Mike led her away to where Jason and James were and on their way, she was very curious what the fight was about. "Why were they fighting?"

"Initiation."

"But that's a brutal way to initiate someone."

"Then you take on a measly job for ten years to join us."

"Are you some sort of cult. Or gang?"

"No, we are legally recognised by the government."

"So where's Emma?"

"Oh, we are here!!" There was no way he was going to run his mouth that he was the one at the arena earlier!

Jenny went in the cozy grey room. It was well lit, furnished with leather sofas,a mini bar at the left most corner and a wonderful view that outlooked the sea. Travis, Jason, James and Liam were present not forgetting Markus who was napping next to Jason's feet. "Hey." she made it short and found herself a seat

"Want anything to drink?" Mike asked as he made his way to the minibar. "Water." she replied and turned to Jason. "Where's Emma?"

"He'll be here in a moment." Jason spoke and gulped down his Martini.

"Ok," she replied and took her glass from Mike.

Soon, the doors opened and in came a badly beaten Emma who seemed to have just showered. "Emma!" Jenny sprung up from her seat and rushed to his side, she examined him and snapped to Jason. "What's the meaning of this? Why is he beaten up?"

"He wanted to be beaten up." Jason shamelessly lied with a straight face making Emma choke on his Salaiva. Me? Wanted!!!! he tried not to speak that but his eyes spoke it all when Jenny looked back at him.

"And you think I'll believe that?!"

"No, you won't but it is the fact!"

"Was he the one at the arena earlier?!" She turned to Mike who choked and his drink sprung from his nostrils making him choke, sniff and become tear eyed. Travis patted his younger brother's back gently.
